XVII. Family Friendly Game Of Baseball

Opening her eyes, Blair noticed something was different. Her pillow was slightly harder and rather colder than usual. Now fully opening her eyes, Blair looked around her room. Confirming it was, indeed her room she looked up into golden eyes of the person- well creature- she loves.

''Are you watching me sleep?'' She asked in her morning voice making corner of Jasper's mouth to tug upwards. ''You creep.''

Jasper let out a silent laugh that was a heaven to Blair's ears this early in the morning. He was glad her humour is back, he was worried she would be traumatised after what happened few days ago.

Blair sat up, stretching her arms high in the air making her bones crack. She looked back at Jasper, who was still laying in her bed, looking straight back at her. Her eyes travelled from his warm eyes down his chest. When her eyes landed on one particular thing they widened and she whined.

''I am so sorry for drooling on you.'' Blair apologised. If Jasper was alive his heart would jumped out of his chest now, she scared him.

''I think it's rather cute.'' He said in his southern accent and smirked at the girl who rolled her eyes.

''And I think it's rather embarrassing.'' Blair declared and finally stood up and walked towards her closet, looking what should she wear today. After picking out random shirt and jeans, Blair turned back to Jasper, who also got up and walked towards her, kissing her forehead.

''You want to come downstairs with me?'' Blair asked before she could leave her bedroom.

''You're mother is downstairs.'' Jasper said as he heard Theresa softly curse at today's horoscope.

''Oh come on!'' Blair whined like a baby as she rested her head on his shoulder ''You know she loves you more than me. If you weren't already adopted, she'd adopt you and this would be incest.''

Jasper truly laughed at Blair's comment. He shook his head and kissed her forehead again before backing away from Blair.

''I should go get something to eat and I'll be back with my car to drive us to school.'' Jasper said and was about to walk toward the window but Blair's words made him stop.

''We have food downstairs, I mean not cooked one but cereal's good.'' Blair said. There was a moment of silence between the pair before there could be heard Blair's palm slapping her own forehead.

''I am so stupid.'' She whispered to nobody ''I forgot about your...yeah.''

Jasper lightly laughed at the human girl as he walked back to her. ''It's alright, Blair. That's one of the many thing I love about you.'' He said, kissing her softly on the lips before disappearing before her own eyes.

''Is it going to be a storm today?'' Blair asked the group of vampires at the lunchtime.

''Oh yeah, can't wait.'' Alice said in her happy voice. Blair sent Alive a look that she needed an explanation why is she excited for a storm. As if she is like her brother, Alice understood Blair's questionable look.

''You didn't tell her?'' Alice asked Jasper in half glare which Jasper returned back.

''I didn't have time.''

''I wonder what were you two doing then-''

''Tell me what?'' Blair interrupted small bicker between siblings. Both their heads turned towards Blair to tell her the news, but another Cullen was faster in spreading the news.

''We'll be playing baseball today.'' Emmett says. Receiving another half glare from Jasper, Emmett smirked back at him, crossing his arms across his chest. ''And you are invited, my human friend.''

''I don't know how to play baseball.'' Blair said making four vampires almost laugh.

''Like you could play against us.'' Emmett blurred out, almost laughing.

''No offence Blair, but if you'd play against us, we'd break every bone in your body. Unwillingly.'' Rosalie said pushing Emmett of the edge and making him laugh.

''Then why are you inviting me? Just to watch?'' Blair asked in disappointment. Jasper who's sitting beside her, put an arm around her shoulders in comfort.

''Bella is also invited, since the dinner didn't go really well.'' Jasper said to Blair while eyeing Rosalie particularity. ''So she doesn't feel... Threatened.''

Blair smiled at the memory at Cullen's house when Edward brought Bella to meet the rest of his family. The day when brunette's theories got confirmed from no other but Edward himself, she called Blair to tell her everything. Blair confessed she already knew everything while Jasper was with her in the room, listening to the conversation.

''Here comes the new couple.'' Emmett said smirking at the pair walking the cafeteria's hallway towards their table. Blair looked back at them, it seemed like they were walking in slow motion. Like everything was happening in a movie scene.

''Do we look as cool as them?'' Blair leaned closer to Jasper's ear, whispering. He looked at his brother and Bella and smiled to Blair whispering back.

''We look cooler.''

''Bella!'' Blair greeted fellow human girl in fake Italian accent. It's been few hours since school day finished and she went home to change.  When Blair and Jasper arrived at the field in the air could be felt an electricity from the stormy clouds and the calm before it.

''Hi.'' Bella greeted Blair and Jasper. Her eyes stayed longer on Jasper who became a little stiffer. Noticing that, Blair grabbed his hand making him look from Bella to Blair's eyes.

''Everything good?'' Blair asked with happiness behind her eyes. Jasper leaned down to kiss her lips, after few seconds their kiss broke and he licked his lips.

''The moment I see you, yes.'' He said and ran towards Emmett leaving Blair with Bella.

''Cute.'' She commented with smile on her face. Blair rolled her blue eyes and tied her hair in high ponytail.

''Shut up.'' Blair said as she came closer to Bella and linked their arms together.

''I'm glad you girls are here. We need an umpire-'' But before Esme could finish her sentence Emmett ran by interrupting her.

''She thinks we cheat.'' He laughed and ran towards Carlisle. ''I know you cheat!''

''You cheat!?'' Screamed Blair at Emmett with a smile ''Shame on you Emmett, don't make me come and fight you!''

''Oh come on, you versus me?'' Emmett questioned ''Jasper would kill me, that wouldn't be fair fight.''

''I'll go easy on you, I promise.'' Blair said, both of them laughing at each other as they fist bumped while Jasper watched from afar with genuine smile on his face.

''It's time!'' Said Alice as everyone got on their places.

''Call 'em as you see 'em, Bella.'' Esme called at the sky rumbled. Alice threw the first ball towards Rosalie, and the moment the bat kicked the ball it was heard like the thunder stroked near them.

''Holy shi-''

''Now I see why you need a thunderstorm to play.'' Bella said beside Blair whose mouth was wide open.

''Close your mouth, you still haven't seen me play.'' Said Jasper from across the field as he was playing with the bat he was holding. Blair's eyes narrowed at his cockiness as she decided to stick out her tongue at him.

''That must've been home run.'' Bella commented with Esme.

''Edward is really fast.'' Esme said proudly of her son.

Blair watched as it was Jasper's turn in the game. Blair's not familiar with the game rules of baseball but she suddenly became intrigued. She watched Jasper toss and twirl the bat in his grasp smirking back at her.

''Like what you see, ma'am?''

''Show off.'' She spatted making him chuckle in his position. When Alice threw him the ball he kicked it so far that Blair couldn't see it anymore.

''Wow amazing, so talented, so impressive, so graceful...'' Blair slowly clapped and sarcastically said as Jasper ran through the field.

''Wait, stop!'' Alice shouted making everyone stop at what're they doing. ''They went pass my radar.''

''They heard us play, now they're coming here.'' She said, making Blair confused. Out of nowhere Jasper appeared next to Blair scaring the daylight out of her.

''Jesus Chri- Don't do that!''

''We need to go.'' Jasper said, leading Blair away from the field but Carlisle's voice stopped him.

''Too late. Cover their necks.''

''What?'' Blair questioned but no one seemed to notice her panic.

''I'm so sorry I brought you here.'' Edward said to Bella as he was pulling her hair to cover her neck.

''Like that will help, I can smell her from all the way across the field.'' Rosalie said coldly.

''Jasper, what is happening?'' Blair questioned Jasper who gently tried to take out her hair from ponytail. Once he made sure her neck is covered, he took a hold of her hand and pulling Blair behind her.

''Three nomads are coming here.'' Jasper said looking in the distance waiting for a moment to see them.

''Nomads? As in vampire nomads?'' Blair questioned, but before Jasper could answered three vampires appeared from the forest and they were walking towards the group. This is the first time Blair saw vampires who are not Cullens and who are drastically different from them. Because these three are feeding on human blood.

''I do believe this belongs to you.'' Dark skinned vampire said to Carlisle and gave him the ball.

''Thank you.''

''How about three more players?''

As they talked Blair should have been looking at the ground but she was too curious about three nomads. But their red eyes terrified Blair, she wondered if it was because they are feeding on human blood or is it because of contact lenses. But then again these three are not even wearing shoes, why would they wear contacts.

''Sure, few of us are leaving anyway so you could take their place.'' Carlisle said, nodding back at his family. That was the sign it is time for two human girls to go home.

As they turned around to walk back to the cars, light wind flew by making Blair's and Bella's hair to fly and their scent appealing to everyone, especially three nomads. Even Jasper's posture stiffened, but he was soon back to normal as he noticed the red haired woman looking at Blair when the rest were only eyeing Bella.

''You brought snacks.'' Blond haired nomad said, eyeing Bella.

Jasper glared at her hard as he protectively put an arm around Blair. Blair just stood there looking back at the woman. She didn't feel threatened, nor afraid they have no chance in fight against Cullens.

''The game is over, I believe we should go now.'' Laurent said eyeing his two companions.

''You should.'' Said Carlisle and three of them turned and left.

Edward and Bella hurried to his car while the rest stayed at the field looking at each other not knowing what else to do. Blair looked up at Jasper who was already looking down at the shorter girl like she was about to disappear away from him.

''Trouble?'' Blair questioned.

''Yeah.'' Jasper nodded, leading her away from the field ''Big trouble.''
