Chapter 16 Hand Over What I Want!
âSo you wanted to challenge me. Well, fat chance!â
This shameless old hag, hideous yet arrogant. I canât fight you, can I? Well, Iâll show you if I can!
Thrown to the ground by Samantha, Calista let out a cry of pain, but before she could even get back up. Samantha stepped on her chest. âIâll ask one last time. Are you going to give me my dowry or not?â
Your dowry?! Those are clearly Old Mr. Deanâs betrothal gifts to my Amy! What does it have to do with you?!
Calista groaned in discomfort. âNo, I wonât give it to you. That gifts are Old Mr. Deanâs to Amy!â
âBut the one marrying Finley Dean is me, Samantha, not Amy. Or do you actually want me to tell Old Mr. Dean that you made me marry Finley in Amyâs place so that Amy and I can switch back?â
At that, Amy retorted, âI dare you, Samantha!â
Even if Samantha dared, she wouldnât give Amy to Finley. Also, she hadnât returned home this time to catch up with these people. She just wanted to return Johnâs betrothal gifts to Amy. As for the company and mansion her mother left her, she would reclaim them another day.
Samantha increased the pressure under her foot and fixed her gaze provocatively on Amy. âTry me. I advise you to be sensible, Amy, and hand over the betrothal gifts Old Mr. Dean gave you. Otherwise, donât blame me for laying hands on you.â
Seeing that Dale stood dazedly aside, having no intention of helping her when she was wholly crushed beneath Samantha, Calista roared in âanger, âDale Wallace, what are you doing, standing there?! Your daughterâs about to trample me to death! Pull her away!â
Finally, Dale came around and approached Samantha, speaking in a seemingly friendly tone, âSam, weâre a family. Canât we all sit down and have a proper chat? Look at you. Why assault your stepmother?â
Samanthaâs sarcastic expression fell on Dale. âIâm not just going to assault her, but Iâm also going to assault you and Amy! You jack*ss, from the moment you married this old hag and angered my mother to death, you are no longer my father! Since you all refuse to hand over the betrothal gifts Old Mr. Dean gave Amy today, Iâll take it myself!â
With that, Samantha kicked Calista away, grabbed Amy by the hair, and slapped her face repeatedly. Still unsatisfied, Samantha also kicked her in the abdomen.
Amy dropped to the ground in pain. As for Dale, Samantha grabbed his neck, pushed him onto the couch, took a nearby paring knife, and slapped it against Daleâs face, saying, âIâll give one last chance. Are you going to give me the betrothal gifts or not?â
Dale has always been timid and fearful. When her mother was still alive, she was the assertive one in the family, while Dale was weak and incompetent. Perhaps the most courageous thing he did in his life was betraying her mother and angering her to death by marrying this shameless old hag.
Seeing Samanthaâs attitude toward him, Dale trembled uncontrollably, clearly frightened. âS- Sam, please calm down. This knife is vâvery sharp, and iâif you accidentally slice the wrong spot, IâIâll die.â
At that, Samantha sarcastically remarked, âItâs a waste of space too for a jack*ss like you to live in this world. Soâ¦â
