Chapter 12:
I could tell how nervous Caleb was as we walked through the forest. I was a little worried about myself after everything that Justin had done to me. I knew I had to tell my Father before we got there and Caleb had the right to know also. I slowly stopped walking, making them stop as well and look at me.
"Before we get there I need to tell you both a couple things about them that you don't know." I started and Caleb just looked at me. "Justin has threatened me a couple of times. Once he knocked me out and tied me to a tree then beat me before letting me fully go telling me to stay away from you or he would kill me." I said looking at Caleb making him gasp and cover his mouth. "Another time he and some of your clan caught me when I was near the pond. This was after you basically rejected me and told me you were bonded to him. My wolf went away after a while and I was very weak. He turned and beat me and then the wolves attacked me, one nearly ripped my leg off. He turned back to his wolf and bit hard into my neck. I was bleeding out and almost died but my wolf came back when I was thinking of you and he healed me before leaving again. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before but I didn't want you to worry."
I looked at Caleb and he was crying at this point, shaking so much I thought he was going to be sick. I looked at my father and he looked ready to kill someone that wasn't me for once. He nodded his head and pointed for us to start walking again so we did. I was glad that it was out now. Now they knew what to expect when we showed up and I knew it wasn't going to be good. My father was a power house. He could take on as many wolves that attacked him without even sweating. I wasn't worried about him, I was worried about Caleb and what they would do to him with me showing up with him. Caleb finally stopped outside of a small circle of houses just outside of the town and said we were there.
"Alright you stay right with me and let my father go ahead alright." I told him and he grabbed a hold of my hand harder and nodded his head. We followed behind my father and were suddenly surrounded by a group of wolves from the clan. One turned back and I saw it was Justin glaring at mine and Calebs hands together.
"Let my mate go, Jackson. I told you what would happen if you touched him again." He growled and turned back to his wolf and charged. My father stepped in front of us grabbing him by the neck and holding him in front of his face. Justin tried snapping at him and my father held his snout shut with his other hand, looking right into his eye.
"You touch my son you little mutt and I will snap your neck." He growled out making Justin whine before throwing him into the pack of wolves that were ready to charge at us. Just when Justin and his pack were not going to listen to my father and charge us another loud growl was heard from behind them. They all stopped and turned to look at Caleb's father.
"What the hell is going on inside my clan right now?" He yelled and walked past all the wolves. "You all go change back and get clothes on NOW." He screamed at them making them scurry off.
"Frank Whitehall what are you doing here?" Caleb's dad smiled at him and walked over. Weird I didn't know they knew each other that well to smile at each other.
"David so nice to see you again. We have something to talk about and clear up. You have met my son I presume." He said as he looked over at Caleb and I. David looked at our hands and his face drained of all color.
"Yes, I met Jackson when he had to come to my clinic. I didn't know our boys had met however." What a liar he was, he saw us talking outside said clinic. I laughed and my father looked over at me making me stop.
"Lets go inside and talk. All of us." He made sure to say so we would follow. Thankfully because I didn't want to be out here with the rest of the clan. I wanted to keep Caleb safe from them. We followed the Alpha's into the house and all took a seat in the living room. I looked around and saw pictures of Caleb everywhere.
"Now why did you keep this from me David?" Pointing to the two of us. What was he talking about?
"You know the problems our clans have had in the past, Frank. My Father made me lie about it and bond him to who we knew would be the strongest of our own pack." He told my father and I was trying to understand what they were talking about.
"We could have avoided a lot more problems if you had come forward with this from the start. My son would have been spared my wrath and your clan's abuse. Your son would have been spared being bonded with such a disrespectful little shit." He spat out.
"Abuse whatever are you talking about, we never abused your son." David told my father. My father went and told him what I said earlier and David looked sick to hear it.
"I will be punishing that boy later." He told my father who agreed.
"Now back to the boys. You are to dissolve the bonding between your son and that boy so these two can be bonded as mates they really are and if I ever find out you lie about something like this again there will be problems with all the clans David. Do i make myself clear." He asked.
"Wait, I want to know what is going on here." I spoke up finally. I had an idea but I wasn't really sure.
"Well When a pup is born we take a blood sample from them and match them to all the blood of un-mated wolves. If the blood becomes blue we tie them together so they can be bonded later in life. The council will test the blood every time a new pup is born. We don't want to be in a fight with one clan if our child is supposed to be bonded into it. Apparently Caleb, your grandfather refused to have you mated to my son, so when he saw the result he told your father and they lied saying you were mated to justin instead." I was seeing red by the end of this and stood up fuming.
"You kept him away from me this whole time, our whole lives. We could have been together this whole time and been happy." I screamed at Caleb's dad. I felt Caleb's hand go into mine calming me down.
"Yes I am so sorry about this boys. I was only listening to my own father at the time. We will get this fixed as soon as we can." David told us.
"You better." I grabbed Caleb and asked him to take us to his room and then we left our fathers to talk.
