I woke up feeling refreshed and happy. I still felt like I could feel Alex's body cuddling me on the couch last night.
I checked my phone. It was 11:30a. Mmm my kind of morning. My stomach grumbled and I really wanted food.
I hopped in the shower and woke myself up more. Dressing in another pair of dark grey leggings and my pink elephant long sleeve shirt, I slipped on my shoes and headed to the cafeteria. Once in line I heard, "Ria! Over here" and saw Eloise waving at me from the table. Everyone was sitting there. I waved back and got my food.
They had brunch today. I got chocolate chip pancakes, topped them with whipped cream and syrup. Got chocolate milk and decided to put strawberries on top. Okay and some more whipped cream with chocolate flakes. Mmm sugar here we come.
I scan and go sit.
Alex's eyes got huge! It was super funny.
"Oh my God Ria. That is so much sugar. You're so lucky I wasn't in line with you," he said shaking his head.
I giggled and bit into my food.
"Mmm so good!" I said.
"You're gonna turn into chocolate," Dean said smiling at me.
"Hey I got strawberries!" I said.
"Oh our bad," Leah said. "It's hard to see under the whipped cream chocolate mountain."
I laughed and stuffed my face more.
"When did you get breakfast? We missed you!" Ashton told me.
"I just woke up at 11:30 this is my breakfast!" I said.
"Child you are killing me," Alex said shaking his head.
"Why?" I asked pretending not to know.
"You're killing my soul Ria" he said dramatically making me laugh.
I finished my food and said goodbye. I just wanted to chill by myself today and no one asked me to plans. I headed back to my room to watch some tv for a bit.
I realized I needed to unpack more. I put on some music turning the tv off. Hanging up my clothes in the closet or in the dresser. I organized my bathroom stuff. Set up my make up and jewelry on the counter for a make shift vanity. Pulled the rest of the snuggies and my favorite baby doll I brought with me in the toy box. Put my little stuff in the night stand for access to sippy cups and pacifiers when I wanted them. Changed my bedding to one I brought from home instead of the school provided ones. The place soon felt more like home. I set up my favorite movies under the tv stand and my laptop on the desk for finishing touches.
I realized one last thing.
I didn't have school supplies at all. They didn't get sent over. Well crap.
I got my phone and realized it was 3:30p. I messaged Alex.
"Best place to get school supplies? I can't find mine at all."
I waited for a minute and he replied.
"I'll be over in 10 and will take you to the store here on campus!"
My heart smiled at getting to see him again. I got my shoes on and waited for the knock at the door.
When it came I jumped up excited.
"Hey hows it going today?" He asked as we started walking.
"Goooooood" I said rocking on my heels. "I put my stuff away and realized no school stuff and the list said notebooks, backpack, pens, pencils yadda yadda."
"Hmm idk if we can find yadda yadda but the other stuff is doable," he said teasing me.
I dramatically rolled my eyes at him and laughed.
We arrived at the store on campus. It had snacks, candy, school supplies, art supplies, lots and lots of stuff basically.
"Alrighty. Backpack first?" He asked.
I nodded yes and walked over to look.
"Theres so many to choose from! This one! Oh wait no this one! I want all these!" I said getting excited.
"Oh boy" Alex said chuckling.
Finally I decided on a white backpack with colorful little animals on it.
"Good choice," Alex said making me beam.
I grabbed up the rest of my stuff: notebooks with sparkles or animals on them. Unicorn pencils. Pencil box. Crayons. I even grabbed up some coloring books!
Alex carried all my stuff for me and led me to check out.
"Hi did you find everything okay?" The cashier asked while scanning.
"Yeah I did! Look at my kitty notebook!" I eagerly said pointing to my favorite notebook.
"Thats so cute. Good choice. You're such a cute little!" She said scanning everything.
I blushed and grabbed my bags. Alex helped me charge the items to my school account and then carried my items to my room.
"I carry my backpack?" I asked him.
"Manners?" He said looking at me
"Pweeeeeeeaaaaase" I said clasping my hands and giving him my cute little puppy dog look.
He smiled and nodded handing me the back pack. I put it on and felt ready for school.
We walked back to my hall and ran into my RA.
"Ria! Come join us in the playroom and meet some hall mates. Most of them will be in your classes and it'll get you some familiar faces." She said popping out of the play room then back in.
"Hey that sounds like a lot of fun!" Alex said as we went into my room.
"No. I don't wanna go," I said organizing my stuff.
"Why not?" He asked.
I didn't answer and hoped he would drop it.
"Ria. Answer me," he said gently making me look at him.
"Other littles don't like me that much and I tend to cause fights and trouble. So I stay away" I said unable to look away from his gaze.
"Hey, my friends and I like you. I think you're being too hard on yourself. Lets go for a bit. If you don't like it we can leave okay?"
I felt better knowing he would go with me. Together we went hand and hand down the hall.
"Ria! So glad you could make it! Everyone this is your new hall mate Ria. She is in room 6. This is a friend Alex."
Littles waved and said hello. Kids started introducing themselves. At first I clung to Alex. Not wanting to leave him.
5 other littles were in the room playing. All girls. I couldn't remember all their names though. Some sucked on pacifiers, others wore diapers, some had bottles and stuffies. It truly was a place to be yourself. Though would they like me?
"Hey wanna play dolls?" A little girl with freckles and purple hair asked me. I think her name was Gabby. I nodded yes and went to join her.
I got lost in play having so much fun.
"I want this doll now. You take this one!" Gabby suddenly said yanking the doll out of my hands.
Oh no she didn't!
"Hey no! Mine!" I said yanking the doll back.
"No! Mine!" She said giving me a push. I landed on my butt and felt my blood boil. I wanted to launch up at her and punch her stupid face. I got myself ready to do it too, but I felt myself being lifted off the ground.
Alex had me, "hey now ladies whats the issue?"
"She took my doll!" Gabby yelled. Renee had her held back.
"She took it first! So I took her back and she pushed me!" I said in defense.
We both started yelling back and forth nutuh her fault. I wanted to attack her so bad but Alex held me tight.
"ENOUGH!" Renee said. We both stopped and looked at each other. Oh no hear came me getting in trouble again.
"We do not fight with our friends. Gabby you lost privilege to be here for the rest of the day. I saw you take the doll first and then push Ria. Go back to your room now!"
Gabby tried to argue but Renee shut it down quick. Gabby stormed off crying to her room.
"Ria, I'm sorry you got pushed. Now when someone takes something from you it solves nothing to take it back. I know you would have pushed her back too if Alex hadn't have gotten to you. Use your words and be a good friend in situations like these. Now go play nice."
Alex had already let go of me when Gabby left. I was shocked. I didn't get in trouble!
Maybe this school would be good for me after all.
