Chapter Twenty-Six
ð The Sword and The Spirit ð
The elevator dings, and Sheriff turns to see Scott, Kira, Avalon and Stiles walling out of the elevator toward him but stop in their tracks and stare in horror at the line of orderlies continuing to wheel the bodies found in the sewers into the morgue. "Oh damn." Avalon muttered before turning to Stilinski, "Who found them?" She asked.
"Argent. And he said the Doctors were down there. He also said you guys might know what this thing is." Stilinski said and Scott nodded slightly, "We've got a theory..." Scott said making Stiles nod in agreement. "It's a slightly terrifying theory..." He said and Stilinski sighed softly, "Well, the M.E. said that the victims were killed somewhere else and then dumped in those tunnels."
Avalon furrowed her brows and thought before a moment before realization crossed over her features, "What if the Dread Doctors are hiding the bodies?" She asked and Kira looked at her confused, "Why would they do that?" She asked and Avalon shrugged slightly. "This thing is probably very important to them. I mean they experimented on me and many other just to try to get it back. Maybe they're covering for it. Protecting it, like a parent would their child." Avalon said.
"Protecting what?" Stilinski asked and they all glanced at each other, "A werewolf." Scott said. "It's called the Beast." Kira said and Sheriff made a face at this and Stiles shrugs in understanding, "We know. Horrifying." He said and Stilinski sighed.
"We better figure out what we're gonna call Parrish... Because it looks like his dream is coming true." Stilinski said.

Malia, Avalon, Braeden, and Theo stood around in the examination room if the animal clinic. Malia and Avalon were looking at photos of an Army Base on the table while Braeden was counting her shot gun around, not looking happy.
"What's the problem?" Malia asked, looking at Braeden, "Besides the fact that I've never seen this place beyond a few aerial photos, and we're basically going in blind?" Braeden asked before looking at Theo, pointing her gun at him. "Him." She said and Theo raised his eyebrows slightly, "Would you mind not pointing that thing at me?" He asked and Braeden never moved.
"He's coming with us." Malia said and Avalon raised her eyebrows, :He tried to kill Scott." She said and Theo smirked. "Technically, I did kill Scott." Theo said and Braeden glared deepened, "I should kill you!" She said and Theo rolled his eyes slightly.
"Won't happen with a shotgun." He said and Avalon smirked as she crossed her arms over her chest, "I'm sure burning you alive will work." She said and Malia sighed. "Stop. All of you." Malia said and Theo shrugged slightly, "I did what I had to do to survive. The Dread Doctors wanted everybody dead. I convinced them that it could just be Scott." He said making Avalon scoff.
"I don't recall it being just Scott who died." She mumbled while Braeden looked at Malia, "You could still tell Scott." She said and Malia shook her head. "When we have Deaton back." Malia said and Avalon raised her eyebrows, "He's not going to blame you for the Desert Wolf taking him." She said making Malia look at her.
"But he might stop me from killing her. Theo won't." Malia said and Theo smirked, "Actually, I'm planning to help." He said making them look at him. "Don't be so confident. She's known to carry pretty heavy firepower." Braeden said making Theo furrow his brows in confusion, "But what do werecoyotes need with guns?" He asked.
"There's a story... I don't know all the details, but something happened a long time ago. Somehow, she lost part of her power. She's not as fast or as strong as she used to be. But, she can still pull a trigger, and she's a perfect shot." Braeden said and Malia nodded slightly.
"The sun's going down. We need to go. Are you coming, or not?" Malia asked and Braeden sighed before grabbing her shot gun shells.

Braeden, Malia, Avalon and Theo stood outside of the army base, Braeden is looking at the entrance to the facility with night-vision binoculars. "No guards. No lights. This place looks completely abandoned." Braeden said and Malia glanced at her, "That should be easier for us, right?" She asked.
"Not necessarily. Especially if she knows we're coming." Braeden said and Avalon looked at Malia, "You're sure this is the place you saw?" She asked making Malia look at her. "Unless there's another Fort Jewett." She said and Theo raised his eyebrows, "Maybe she left. Maybe Deaton's already gone." He said and Malia shook her head.
"I'm not walking away on a maybe." She said and Braeden sighed, "And I'm not walking in on so much uncertainty." Braeden said making Malia look at her. "You said you've been after her for years." She said making Braeden give her a stern look, "And why do you think it's been years? Because she knows what she's doing." She said.
"She took Scott's boss for a reason. We don't know what that is. We don't know if she's back in Beacon Hills because she missed you all this time and can't wait for a mother-daughter reunion, or if she's planning to put a bullet in your head. We don't know anything." Braeden said and Malia shrugged slightly.
"We know one thing- we know where she is. I'm going in. I have to." Malia said before giving the three if them a look and walking towards the army base. "You're dating her?" Braeden asked, looking at Avalon who pursed her lips slightly while nodding. "Yep." Avalon said before catching up to Malia making Braeden sighed and she and Theo followed after them.
The four quietly walk around a large room in the Army base, which is full of military vehicles. After a moment, Malia slowed to a stop and turned to the others, "There's something wrong." Malia whispered. "Is it a scent?" Braeden asked and Malia shook her head slightly, "I don't know." She said.
The three continue to walk around one of the armored trucks in a single-file line before walking past one. That's when they find Deaton, whose wrists and ankles are tightly bound to the chair. His mouth is covered with black duct tape, and he looks panicked by the sight of them.
Something in Deaton's eyes causes Braeden to realize that this is a trap, and she immediately spins on her heel with her gun aimed at Theo, but he grabs the barrel with one hand and blocks her kick with the other. He then uses the same free hand to grab her in a choke-hold and slam her onto the ground, taking her gun and using the butt of it to knock her out by slamming it against her temple.
He turned to Avalon and before she could really do anything, he pulled a jar out of his pocket. He used it to throw some white powder at her making her stumble back into one of the car, bringing her hand up to her face as she coughed while sliding to the ground as a wave of dizziness washed over her. "Mistletoe. You wont be using your powers for a little while." He said before turning to Malia.
She growled at him before he aimed the shotgun at her and fires a shot right in her abdomen. Avalon's eyes widen as Malia doubles over in pain and clutches her stomach, groaning in pain as she stumbled back into the ground. Avalon tried to get up but groaned slightly when it just made the dizziness worse.
"It was me, wasn't it?" Theo asked as he walked towards her, You picked up a chemosignal. Probably regret... Because I didn't really want to do this. But I didn't have a choice." Theo said before tossing the gun aside, sliding it across the floor where the Desert Wolf stopped it with her foot.
The Desert Wolf looked at Malia for a moment before holding up a jar of Belasko's talons and tossing it over to Theo. He held up the jar and the claws started flowing blue as his eyes glowed a golden yellow as he smirked before looking at Malia. "You should have listened to Braeden." He said before walking over to Avalon while pulling out a small syringe filled with mistletoe.
"Just an extra precaution." He said but before he could do anything, Avalon eyes flashed golden yelled/fiery reddish-orange before punching him. He stumbled back slightly before chuckling and grabbing her hair, quickly sticking the syringe into her neck. She groaned as her eyes flashed white for a moment before he stepped back and walked away. Avalon and Malia looked at each other before Avalon slowly passed out.
The Desert Wolf circled around Malia was looking at her girlfriend worriedly before crying out in pain, still clutching her stomach. "You know, your real name isn't Malia." The Desert Wolf said before grabbing Malia by the throat, "You don't have a name. Talia Hale took you away from me before I could give you one." She said before hitting Malia in the head with the gun
Deaton looks horrified and desperate as he tried to break out of his restraints as the Desert Wolf throws the gun, leaning over her daughter. "What you do have is power- strength, speed, and the capacity to heal. You know where you got it from, Malia? You know who you stole it from? Me." The Desert Wolf said before standing up, pressing her foot down on Malia wound.
"Tell me when it hurts. Tell me when it really hurts." She said as she pressed her foot down more until Malia screamed out in pain. The Desert Wolf stepped back before grabbing Malia by the back of her neck, pulling her up while extending her claws.
"Corinne!' Deaton yelled after getting the cloth over his mouth off making The Desert Wolf pause. "You can't get it back like this. It has to be a full moon. You kill her now, and you get nothing." Deaton said making The Desert Wolf look at her daughte slightly conflicted.
All of the sudden the light above Deaton's head exploded making the Desert Wolf jump back, letting Malia go. Malia managed to gain enough strength to growl and kick her mother away from her before standing up.
Malia's eyes glow bright blue, and she roars while her teeth to extend into fangs in anticipation of a fight. In response, the Desert Wolf roars as she partially transforms as well, with the exact same blue eyes as Malia.
Malia and the Desert Wolf start fighting, with each woman slashing and kicking at the other. The Desert Wolf manages to avoid Malia's blows and grabs her by the shoulders before throwing her toward the front of one of the military vehicles.
Malia spins out of her mother's reach before shifting back to human and glaring her. "I killed them because of you. I killed my own family." Malia said and the Desert Wolf smirked, "Your adopted family. I'm your family, sweetheart." She said making Malia let out a small roar before roaring and lunging at her mother.
"Avalon." Avalon heard Deaton's voice echo in her head making her slowly start to wake up. "Avalon." Deaton's voice echoed again making her look over at him to see him looking at her. "You need to cut out the mistletoe from your system." Hic voice echoed and she furrowed her brows slightly before glancing at The Desert Wolf and Malia. She flicked out a claw and dragged it across her arm, quietly groaning so they dont realize shes awake.
The Desert Wolf grabbed Malia's arm before her multiple times in the stomach and head. The Desert Wolf kneed Malia in the stomach, pushed her against one of the cars. "But, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't care about them- I was just trying to kill you." The Desert Wolf said before all of the sudden she cried out in pain.
Avalon pulled the Desert Wolf back by the back of her neck before pushing her into a car. Avalon's eyes slowly went from golden yellow/fiery reddish-orange back to her brown and green while her hand had a red hot glow to it. "Somehow, this isn't the worse meeting my girlfriend's family, I've ever had." Avalon said before looking at Malia worriedly and Malia kidded slightly.
All of the sudden there was a loud thumping noise across the room. The three women turn to see that the brick wall behind Deaton crumbling as a result of an unknown force. Deaton turned around slightly before all of their eyes widen when they saw the Beast starting at them through the hole in the wall.
The Beast started breaking more parts of the wall making Deaton look at the women. "Malia! Avalon!" He called out before the Beat grabbed the back of Deaton's chair, pulling him back. "Go!" Avalon yelled and Malia quickly ran over to Deaton while Avalon kept an eye on the Desert Wolf.
Deaton struggles against his restraints as the Beast lifts his chair into the air, but Malia uses her claws to cut through the duct tape to free him before pulling him down.
The Desert Wolf looks at Avalon before smirking and running off. Avalon quickly ran over to Deaton and Malia, helping Malia get the duck tape off of Deaton's wrists. Once they did, Deaton quickly jumped of the chair making the two girls grab him. They waisted no time running over to Braeden who had started getting up. Avalon grabbed Braeden arm, helping her up as they all looked back at the Beast who pulled the chair through the hole.
"Come on!" Malia yelled, grabbing Avalon's hand before the four of them quickly ran off as the Beast let out a loud roar.

Scott and Liam walk into the animal clinic to find Malia, Avalon and Braeden standing around the exam table in the back room. Malia's bloody hands are still clutching the bullet wound to her stomach while Braeden was blotting at the bloody wound on her forehead and Avalon was leaning her elbows against the metal table, still feeling the tiring effect from the mistletoe.
Scott gives Malia a silent questioning look, which Malia returns with a small smile and a nod. Just as Scott enters the room and sees Deaton off to the side, Scott smiles and sighs in relief before rushing over to him and giving him a hug. Over Deaton's shoulder, Scott gives Malia a grateful look, and when she smiles back at him, its obvious that their friendship is finally mended.
When Scott and Deaton pulled away, Deaton smiled at him before grabbing a book and setting it down in front of Avalon making her look up at him. "It's a book on witches. Every day after school, you come here and well work on getting full control on your magic." He said making Avalon glance at Malia who smiled at her before Avalon furrowed her brows slightly and looked at Deaton.
"Why did I hear your voice in my head?" Avalon asked and Deaton smiled, "You're apart of a rare group of witches, specifically elemental witches. Every elemental witch has a connection to people through their element making them be able to sometimes communicate through the mind." He said and Avalon nodded slowly.
"Oh. That's cool, I guess." She said as she glanced at everyone.

Scott, Stiles, Kira, Avalon, Malia and Liam all stood around the table that was covered in pictures and blueprints of Eichen House. Scott turns to Liam and nods slightly making Liam set down a book that said "EICHEN SECURITY LOG" on the cover. Stiles follows up by holding up a stolen key card from earlier and laying it down as well.
Scott smiles at the members of his pack before getting a determined look in his eyes, "Now we get Lydia."

While they're called "Witches" they're not like Protector, Healers or Necromancers. They don't have basic everyday witch powers, their magic only revolves around their element. But they're called "Elemental Witches" because they're not the same as Elementalist, or at least my version of an Elementalist (who controls all the elements). The Lunar Eclipse also doesnt effect them the same as it does my other witches.
Sea Witch -

⢠Can control the wind
