Chapter Twenty-Three
ð Status Asthmaticus ð
"What do you mean, No?" Liam asked as he walked up to Scott, "Liam, look at her. She's too weak. It will kill her. We don't even know what the mercury's doing to her. We don't even know if it's actually mercury. This can't be the only way to save her." Scott said as they glanced back at Hayden.
"It saved mine." Liam said and Scott shook his head, "You know that was different. You were hanging off a ledge." Scott said and Liam glared at him. "You promised. You said you'd do everything you could. You already failed to save my sister." Liam said making Scott sigh softly, "Which is why I'm not going to do something I think is going to kill her." He said before his breathing started to wheeze slightly.
"There has to be..." Scott tried to say as he started breathing heavily making Theo look up, "There has to..." He said in a slight whisper. "Scott!" Theo said making Scott look at him as he tossed him the inhaler, Scott quickly shook it before taking a puff and a deep breath. "There's another way to save her." Scott said as Hayden started breathing heavily in pain again, "Guys." Theo called out making them look at him.
"I don't know what the statistics are for surviving a Werewolf bite, but she's definitely not surviving this. We need to do something."
A little while later Hayden now laid on a metal table as Melissa set stuff up. "What's that?" Liam asked as Melissa pulled out a couple bags from a cooler, "It's called chelation therapy. It removes heavy metals from the blood. But, the problem is... is that it can injure the kidneys, and Hayden only has one to begin with, so..." Melissa trailed off before she went to put an IV needle in Hayden's hand.
Hayden winced in pain as the needle went in, "Hey, you're hurting her!" Liam said as he grabbed Melissa's arm making her look at him. "And you're hurting me." Melissa said making Scott look over and Liam glanced at Scott before quickly letting Melissa go.
"Sorry..."
"Hey guys? Remember, we're here to save a life, not kill each other." Theo said and Scott sighed, "It's the full moon. Werewolves can feel it during the day. And, it's a supermoon." He said and Melissa glanced at all if them. "What, is that supposed to make you guys, like, super strong? Super aggressive?" Melissa asked as she hung up one of the bags and Scott nodded, "Both." He said.
A few minutes later Scott and Theo sat on the chairs in the waiting room. "You know we're going to need help with him." Theo said and Scott nodded slightly, "He'll be all right." Scott said. "He's sixteen and in love. First love." He said and glanced at Scott. "You remember what that's like?" He asked and Scott nodded distantly, "Yeah... Trust me, I remember." He said. "All those emotions mixed with the supermoon and Avalon's death... Tonight isn't going to be good." Theo said and Scott sighed, "I know."
"We need help- and I don't mean restraints or chains. I mean Malia, Stiles, Lydia... You need your pack, Scott." Theo said and Scott shook his head slightly, "I'm not so sure I have one anymore." He said.
"Let me talk to them. Let me see what I can do. Okay?" Theo asked making Scott look at him for a moment before nodding and Theo stood up and walking towards the door. "Theo..." Scott said making Theo stop and look at him, "Thank you." He said and Theo nodded before talking out.
Scott sighed softly before getting up and walked into examination room. "It's not working, is it?" Liam asked as Melissa walked around the table, "She should be showing signs of improvement. Hayden?" She asked as she grabbed Hayden's hand. "Call Val... My sister... Valerie..." Hayden said in a slight whisper, "She's a deputy." Liam said as Scott pulled out his phone.
"I think I might know where she is. Theo just texted me about the high school. He said there's cops everywhere. Might be another Chimera." Scott said making them look at him, "Um, my sister... I don't want to die without my sister..." Hayden said and Scott nodded slightly.
"I'll get her." Scott said as he started walking away but Liam stopped him, "Uh, wait- what are you going to tell her?" He asked. "If I have to... I'll tell her everything." Scott said before running out.

Lydia walked into the library and pulled out the Bestiary before flipping to a page. "Woden's Hunt, also known as the Wild Ride or Wild Hunt, a myth of devilish riders in the sky accompanied by black dogs, spectral beats whose eyes glowed with fire. A Bearer of Death and Guardian of the Supernatural, the black dog is known by its more common name... The Hellhound." She read lowly to herself before she got a distant look as she heard two people roaring before hearing Scott's voice.
"I can't let you kill me!"
"You know what's coming... Don't you?" Theo asked making Lydia spin around to look at him. "Someone's going to die here." Lydia said and Theo nodded "You're right. But, I can't let you tell anyone." He said. "Why?" She asked and he raised his eyebrows slightly, "Because I want you, Lydia. I want all of you." He said making her furrow her brows.
"What are you talking about?" She asked and he smirked, "Don't worry- I'll give you some time to think about it." He said before punching her making her fall to the ground.

Malia was crouched down in her old coyote den in the woods, holding her sister's doll and looks at it with a sad expression. She wiped the dirt off the dolls head before flashing back to the night her adoptive mother and sister were killed.
Malia snapped back to the present when she hears soft footsteps approaching her. She turned around toward the entrance to find a dark brown-black wolf trot into the den. She watched as the wolf transforms into a very naked Theo, who stood confidently in front of her.
"How did you do that?" Malia asked and Theo shrugged slightly, "Do you want to learn? I can show you." Theo asked. "You're showing me plenty right now." She said and he stepped forward into the light, "I've got nothing to hide." He said and she raised her eyebrows.
"And I do?" She said, "Did you tell Scott you're planning to kill your mother?" Theo asked making Malia look at him shocked. "Don't worry, I'm not judging. I want to help you." He said and she squinted slightly, "Why?" She asked.
"Because I know Scott won't. I'm trying to help all of you. If Scott can't do it, then someone else needs to take the lead. You know they're moving Hayden to the hospital, right? But Hayden's still a Chimera, and there's two more we haven't found yet, and they're dangerous. They need help. They need you. You can give them the help that Avalon needed."

In the parking lot of the hospital, Theo stood outside of his truck as he holds up a key, smirking before tossing it into a nearby patch of grass before shutting his truck door and preparing to leave.
Inside a wing of the hospital that is currently under construction, Malia growled as she violently shook a door that Theo had locked her behind.

Scott walked into the library and glanced around before pulling his phone out and calling Lydia. He heard her phone ringing making him look over to see her phone on one of the book shelves and he walked over to it. He glanced around before noticing a line of mountain ash making him furrow his brows before walking back over towards the tables.
That's when he noticed Theo closing off the line of mountain ash making his eyes widen. "That's not possible." Scott said as Theo turned around, "You're right. A Werewolf shouldn't even be able to touch mountain ash." Theo said and realization crossed over Scott's features. "You're a Chimera." He said and Theo smirked slightly.
"I'm the first Chimera. It's the coyote part you don't notice. It's why Malia trusted me first, even though she probably didn't know it. You found the perfect word, though, Scott... Because a Chimera isn't just a monster with different parts. It can also mean something impossible to achieve. An unrealizable dream."
"And they realized you?" Scott asked, "They came close with me. But, we can't all be perfect. We can't all be True Alphas." Theo said and Scott ran at him making Theo step back past the mountain ash. Scott hit the barrier and fell back making him groan in pain.
"Damn! I felt that." He said before walking over to turn on a phone jammer, No calls, Scott. No Stiles, no Malia, no Lydia. You're just going to have to wait here for what happens next." Theo said. "What do you mean? What's next?" Scott asked and Theo smirked, "The supermoon." He said before walking away.

Malia finally managed to get out of her makeshift prison cell, only to find a bloody mess on the floor in the hallway. There was a bag of bone marrow that had been partially drained and dropped onto the floor, where it has smeared all over the tiles.
She slowly followed the trail down the corridor until she comes upon a new Chimera, feeding on a second bag of bone marrow. His eyes are sunken in, and bone claws are painfully protruding from his knuckles on the tops of his hands.
The Chimera turned to her, his clawed hand that had a giant sharp bone sticking out of his wrist, wrapping around the plastic curtain. He growled at her as he slowly stood to his feet, dropping the bag of bone marrow.
When he starts to run toward her, Malia's eyes blaze bright blue, extending her fangs and claws as she let out a loud roar

A little while later Scott pushed against the barrier before groaning in pain and stopping as he breathed heavily. "Come on... You've done this before. You can do it again." He whispered to himself before he groaned slightly and pulled out his inhaler, taking a puff. He put the inhaler back into his pocket before running at the barrier only to fly back into the tables.
He groaned slightly before sitting up and noticing a door that lead up to the roof before running past the door and quickly climbing up the ladder. He ran out onto the roof and walked over to the ledge holding his hand out only to get stopped by the barrier again. He groaned in frustration before slamming his hand down on the barrier before he started whizzing.
He pulled down his inhaler and took a couple puffs before yelling out in frustration, crushing the inhaler. A cloud of purple came out of the inhaler making realization cross over his features, "Wolfsbane..."
Scott got up and turned around before noticing a fully shifted Liam, "Theo let you in." Scott said. "Did you lie to me?" Liam asked and Scott shook his head, "I've never lied to you." He said. "But you won't save her." Liam said angrily, "I can't save her- at least not with a bite. If you'd just think about that for a second, Liam, you would know that I'm right." Scott said and Liam nodded as he walked back and forth in front of Scott.
"I am thinking! I'm thinking about alternatives. I'm thinking about my sister!" Liam growled out, "Liam, it's the supermoon. It's feeding your anger. It's making you more aggressive." Scott said. "It's making me stronger! You're gonna keep your promise that you already broke once... Even if it kills you!" Liam yelled before letting out a loud roar.

The Chimera swiped at Malia but she dodged his arm before grabbing it, slamming him into the wall. He pushed her back making her roll across the ground slightly before getting up and growling at him. They both ran at each other and Malia slashed her claws at his stomach making him fall to the ground.
She turned to him and grabbed the back of his shirt, pulling him up but he grabbed her arms and slammed her against the wall. He swiped at her but she grabbed his arm, pushing against him before he pushed her to the ground. He when to swipe at her but all of the sudden he got shot with a taser making him fall to the ground to reveal Braeden standing not to far away.
The Chimera pulled the taser off him, looking at Braeden in shock before quickly getting up and running away. Malia stood up, watching him run away before looking at Braeden, "What the hell was that?" Baeden asked and Malia sighed.
A few minutes later the two of them walk past ambulances in the garage. "I don't know what's going on around here, but I'm guessing things are bad again." Braeden said as she stopped and turned to Malia, "Very." Malia said. "Then this is going to sound worse... 'Cause your plan?" Braeden said and Malia's eyes widened slightly, "She knows." She said and Braeden nodded.
"Yeah. And she's coming. The Desert Wolf knows you're alive... And she's coming back to Beacon Hills."

Scott jumped up onto the upstairs part of the library before looking down at Liam. "He's using you, Liam! He wants you to be the Alpha because he can't take the power from me- only you can. But, once you do, he'll take it from you. That's why he wants you to kill me." Scott said as Liam walked up the stairs.
"That's what you don't get, Scott. I want to kill you! I want to!" Liam yelled before running at him. Liam went to kick him making Scott block it before Liam grabbed him and slammed him into the book shelves. Scott went to punch him but Liam ducked before Scott wrapped his arms around him.
Liam fought against him making Scott back up into the shelves before Liam flipped him over his shoulders making Scott fall down the stairs. He hit another set of shelves before Liam roared and jumped down the stairs. Scott quickly got up and when to run off but Liam tackled him down the stairs.
Liam lifted him up slightly before growling and slamming Scott down onto the stairs making him groan. Liam growled as Scott weakly say up before gaining some strength and charging at Liam. But all Liam did was flip Scott over his shoulders down onto a table, completely smashing it.
Liam roared at he swiped at Scott over and over again until Mason ran into the library. "Liam! Liam! Liam! Liam! Liam, what are you doing?" Mason yelled making Liam stop and look at him before realizing what he was just doing. "Hayden..." Liam whispered and Mason shook his head, "She's gone. Hayden died a few minutes ago. She's gone." He said.
Liam glanced at Scott before slowly backing away and running out of the library. "Scott... What happened?" Mason asked as he wrapped Scott's arm around his shoulder to help him up. "It's the supermoon. It was just-" Scott started to say but got cut off, "Bad timing." Theo said as he walk into the library. "I mean, seriously? You couldn't have waited five minutes?" Theo asked before slamming Mason's head down onto a table.
"I should've stayed. I should've made sure." Theo said, "Because now you have to kill me yourself." Scott said making Theo look at him. "They're still mine. Maybe not yet, but they'll come around." Theo said and Scott shook his head, "Not for you." Scott said before Theo stabbed his claws into Scott stomach.
"They're not like you. They never will be." Scott said and Theo raised his eyebrows slightly, "Because I'm a Chimera? Because I'm not a real Werewolf?" He asked. "Because you're barely even human." Scott said in a whisper making Theo look at him angry before slamming him down onto the stairs, shoving his claws deeper.

Lydia groaned in pain as she slowly started to wake up before glancing around to see she was in the Dread Doctor's operating theater. All of the sudden Theo walked in and started walking over to her, "I've never done this before, Lydia... I know how dangerous it is... But it's a risk we have to take." He said making her eyes widen.
"No! No, don't!" She yelled as she got yo and tried to run away but he grabbed her and stuck his claws in the back of her neck. She gasped as her eyes widened, "What do you think, Lydia? Am I doing it right?" Theo asked angrily as he shoved his claws in deeper before he started to see her memories.
"Yes, I see it... I can see it..." He said before smirking slightly and ripping his claw out but she didn't move. He walked over and grabbed a syringe before filling it with some liquid from a large glass tube that had a body in it.
A few minutes later Theo dragged Lydia through the woods. "Come on, Lydia... Come on..." He said as they walked up to the Nemeton before he let her fall to the ground. "Watch this, Lydia. You think you lost your mind? Well, watch this!" Theo said as he stuck the syringe into Tracy's next and a few seconds later she sudden gasped away.
He did the same to Corey, Josh and Hayden, all of them gasping awake. He walked over to Avalon's body before doing the same to her and after a second she gasped awake. Theo stood in front of them as the five dead- now alive Chimeras stood up and glanced around. "What... What's happening?" Hayden asked as they looked at Theo, "Who are you?" Tracy asked and Theo smirked.
"I'm your Alpha. And all of you? All of you belong to me." Theo said before turning around and walking away. Hayden, Tracy, Corey and Josh slowly followed behind him while Avalon stayed when she shood while glancing around. That's when she noticed Lydia making her eyes widen.
"Lydia?" She asked as she quickly ran over to her friend.
