💰 Monstrous 💰

Avalon walked out of her bathroom, running her hand through her damp hair before pausing when she saw Malia sitting on her bed. "Hey, what are you doing here?" Avalon asked as she walked over to her desk, "I talked to Stiles, apparently him and Lydia got attacked by an orderly at Eichen House." Malia said making Avalon glance at her.

"The fucked up mental institution right?" Avalon asked as she put some rings on, "Are you guys friends again?" Avalon asked. "Yeah." Malia said and Avalon nodded slightly, "That's good... Not that I'm complaining or anything, but why are you here?" Avalon asked and Malia stood up.

"I kind of what to try something." Malia said making Avalon furrow her brows as she leaned against her desk, "Try what?" Avalon asked. Malia didn't say anything as she just walked up to Avalon, grabbing her face before pulling her into a kiss. After a second of initial shock, Avalon kissed back and their lips moved in sync for a moment.

After a moment they slowly pulled away and Avalon awkwardly cleared her throat as she glanced down. "So... You like girls?" Avalon asked slowly as she looked back up at Malia who nodded, "I like both." She said and Avalon nodded. "Nice." Avalon said and Malia raised her eyebrows, "Was that okay?" She asked and Avalon nodded.

"Yes- Definitely. That- that was great." Avalon said before cringing slightly as she cleared her throat. "I'm normally not this awkward." Avalon said before hooking her hand behind Malia's neck and pulling her back into a kiss. Their lips moved in sync for a moment before Malia's phone started going off making them pull away.

She pulled her phone out to see Stiles calling.

💰

Stiles and Avalon sat at his desk with an old speaker in front of them and Malia standing behind them. They were listening to the tapes that Brunski had, trying to figure something out as they listened to Lorraine, Lydia's grandmother's, tape.

"Let's go, Lorraine."

"Listen to me... Please, listen. There's something I have to do. Something I have to stop."

"I have to take you back to Eichen, Lorraine..."

"No. No, I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere. I can hear the recorder in your pocket. It's on now, isn't it? You're making a tape... Just like you taped the others."

"This didn't happen at Eichen House." Stiles said after he stopped the tape, "But then, where did she go?" Malia asked and Avalon shrugged slightly as she glanced at them. "That's what we need to find out." She said before starting the tape again.

" ...Get back to Eichen, Lorraine..."

"No. No, I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere..."

Malia furrowed her brows as she listened to the background noise behind Lorraine and Brunski's voices. "That's it- that's where it is. Play it again and turn it up." She said and Stiles glanced as her before doing it and she listened closely.

"No. No, I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere. I can hear the recorder in your pocket. It's on now, isn't it? You're making a tape... Just like you taped the others."

"It's the record player." Malia said and Avalon furrowed her brows, "What record player?" She asked glancing at them confused. "The one in the lake house, in the study." Malia said and Stiles nodded slightly, "So, she escaped from Eichen House to go back to listen to a record player?" Stiles asked and Malia nodded.

"Well, she was like Lydia, right? She was a Banshee?" Malia asked as she started walking back and forth and Stiles nodded, "Yeah, but only once. She predicted Maddy's death and then spent decades trying to predict something else." He said and Malia slowed to a stop.

"Maybe she finally did..." Malia said and Avalon nodded slowly, "What if this time, it wasn't just one death, it was a lot of deaths?" Avalon asked, looking over at Stiles as realization crossed over his face. "Like the Deadpool." He said, "What if, all those years ago, Lorraine predicted it? And she knew there was something in the study that could stop it?" Malia asked and Avalon sighed as she stood up.

"Then we're going to the lake house."

💰

The three of them sat in the study listening to the record player until Stiles suddenly sighed and stood up making them look at him. "What are we doing? This room wasn't even made for us. No, we need someone like Lydia, or Meredith, and we're just sitting here, listening to a stupid record player play a record that doesn't play anything." He said before turning it off.

"Come on. There's plenty of other things we can be totally useless doing." He said as he and Avalon stood up, they started walking away while Malia stopped and looked at the record player, still hearing it. "Guys?" Malia called out making them walk back into the room, "Yeah?" Avalon asked.

"We can still hear it." She said making them look at them confused, "But it's not on." Stiles said and Malia scoffed slightly. "Then it's something else- something spinning." She said as she stood up and they walked over to her.

Stiles started looking around the record player until he found a cord going into the wall. He pushed the small table away and glanced back at the girls before pulling at the cord making the drywall around it break. He glanced back at the girls before he started pulling at it more making the the wall break upwards along with the cord.

Avalon walked forward and helped him break of the dry wall to reveal a few large computers behind the wall, "What is this?" Malia asked and Stiles sighed softly.

"The Deadpool."

Malia suddenly went to punch the computers making Avalon's eyes widen as she grabbed Malia's arm. "You can't just smash it to pieces. If this thing's being used to disseminate the list, then it's probably gonna keep going until everyone's dead and we wont be able to turn it off if it's in pieces." Avalon said and Malia sighed, "Then what do we do?" She asked.

"It needs some kind of prompt or command or something, right?" Stiles asked and Avalon looked at the computers before stepping forward, "What about a key?" She asked pointing at a keyhole at the top of the middle computer.

A few minutes later Stiles had Lydia on video chat with the camera pointing at the computers, "You see it? There's got to be a way to turn it off, right?" Stiles asked and Lydia sighed. "I don't know. I don't know anything about computers from the 1970s."

"Neither do we."

"Okay, where's the monitor?"

"There is no monitor. There are buttons, spindles... no monitor." Avalon said as Stiles slightly walked away from the computer, not really paying attention to where he was pointing the camera. "Wait- turn the phone back. Point it at the carpet." Lydia said making Stiles furrow his browns in confusion, "The what?" He asked.

"The floor! Just show me the floor." Lydia said making Stiles point the camera at the floor, "Where's the stain? There should be red blotches, a wine stain..." Lydia said as Avalon and Malia walked over to Stiles. "There's nothing... which is weird cause it was a pretty large stain." Avalon said and Lydia nodded in agreement.

"That doesn't make sense. I gave the five hundred dollars I was supposed to use to hire cleaners to Brunski." Lydia said as Stiles pointed the camera back onto them, "Lydia, what the hell does wine have to do with anything?" Stiles asked and Avalon glanced at him. "Red wine doesn't just disappear...Unless it wasn't wine..." She said making him more confused, "What? What do you mean?" He asked.

"The ashes weren't ashes... The study isn't a study... The record player isn't a record player... So... So, maybe the wine wasn't wine... You have to find the wine! Find the bottle. There could be something about it."

"What kind? What's it called?" Stiles asked, "It's a 1982 Cotes du Rhone..." Lydia said and Stiles glanced at the girls before running out the room.

"I think there's something inside. Do you have, like, a wine opener, or..." Stiles asked as he ran back into the room and Malia instantly grabbed the bottle and smashed it on the ground, shattering it. "That works too." Avalon said before crouching down and sifting through the broken glass before holding up a key.

Stiles grabbed it and ran over to the computers, he put it into the keyhole and glanced back at the girls before turning it. A few seconds later all the computers slowed to a stop making them look at each other.
