âYaaa!â
She plunged her holy spear into the beast.
The massive snake-like monster began to shake. The humming of spectrum flow stopped as the beast attempted to move around.
âYou fucking idiot!â
Eve ridiculed.
A tremor ensued as the massive worm beast attempted to free itself from the hole it was in.
âEve, Iâm going to support Vivian! Provide cover and adapt to the situation for now!â
I ordered.
âSure, just donât let her die!â
I jumped down after her.
When I reached the next level, I landed on a pile of rubble. In this larger dome, I could see how massive this beast was.
Its fur was ash and had bright golden eyes all around its body. It didn't have arms, just a rounded head that was full of purple sharp spikes. Each golden eye had purple puss coming from it.
âHyaaa!â
Vivian was on top of its body still stabbing away at it.
âVivian, get over here right now!â
She turned to me with a bright smile.
âI have it just where I want it, Feodora!â
The fur on its body turned a strange purple color. It was mixed with green making it look like high grass.
âItâs using wind spectrum! Feodora, get her out of there before she gets herself killed!â
At Eveâs command, I jumped on the beast's back.
It felt like I was journeying through bushes as I ran at full speed to Vivian.
The creature's golden eyes watched me as I passed through its large blade-like purple spikes.
When I finally reached Vivian, she was lifting her spear for another useless strike.
âGet over here!â
I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her against me.
I could feel an electrifying current coming from below us. The sky above began to darken as clouds started to swirl over the crater.
âShit. Donât die down there, you two!â
Eve ordered.
She did the smart thing and took cover in the next room.
âF-Feodora?!â
âHold on to me! Donât you dare let go, Vivian!â
I swung our bodies off the beast, into the darkest spot of the room nearby.
A bright light gathered from above and below as thunder shot from heaven and hell.
Magic connected to the beast creating a thunder shockwave, electrifying everything in the dome below.
I appeared next to Eve in the other room, still holding Vivian in my arms.
âAh, that was close.â
My legs were trembling. The spectrum level that beast had was dangerously high.
âSomeone must have been feeding that beast for weeks. Itâs too dangerous to let it go.â
Eve kicked the wall.
âAnd you had to be stupid and wake it up, didnât you Vivian?!â
Vivian stood up, pushed her nose up to Eve, and defended her actions.
âA soldier of good wouldnât allow a beast like that to roam free!â
âA soldier of good?! This isnât one of your comic books! You put Feodora and your own life in danger.â
She clicked her tongue.
âAh, maybe you can use your phone thingy and call Jade?â
I suggested.
âThat wonât work, thereâs no signal down here. Weâre going to have to take it down ourselves.â
I took to my feet and brought out my katana. The beast was dangerous, but I also could go all out on it.
In a way, I could test what Maxwell trained me for.
âAlright, Vivian, you need to stop going off of impulse and follow orders.â
I chided her.
Instead of giving me sass like Eve, she put her head down and nodded like a puppy in trouble.
âRight, I wonât do it again, Feodora.â
I had to take her word for it.
âIâm going to draw its attention. Eve, Vivian, look for a weak point before itâs next big strike.â
Eve shrugged.
âSure, weâll keep an eye out for now.â
The beast was still struggling to get out of its hole. Taking its immobility to our advantage, we jumped down and found a spot on the rubble to keep in battle formation. The hundreds of golden eyes on its body looked at the three of us.
âIâm going.â
I closed my eyes and snapped my fingers. Darkness exuded from my body, destroying the rubble around me.
âAh?!â
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Vivian fell back from the shockwave.
My eyes opened, a deep and dark horrid purple. My black katana channeled my darkness, swirling around it.
I vanished-
-Appeared at the beast side.
The world went dark, blackening the sun above. In an uppercut, I lifted one side of the worm.
It screeched as it toppled to one side. A dark purple gash revealed itself.
âKeep it up.â
Fire balls shot my way as I vanished, reappeared and continued my relentless assault on the beast.
Opening after opening, I wasnât giving the beast any reprieve.
âI canât even see her!â
Vivian shouted.
âD-Donât try and focus on Feodora. Just look for a weak spot, Vivian!â
I could hear them, but I stayed focused, trying to dodge the beastâs spells.
Blow by blow, purple puss littered the battle zone.
âIâll try this.â
I merged my darkness with fire, searing the beastâs fur with my strikes.
âHuh?â
From inside its body, a red eye stared directly at me. Blue puss cried from its iris.
âFeodora! Your spectrum is bringing the ruins down!â
I came to a halt. She was right, I was going too hard.
âAlright. I need to calm down.â
In this isolated space, the wind began to cycle. The rocks and large debris began spinning like they were in a turbine.
I shadow-walked my way back to Eve as Vivian.
âIâm doing damage but itâs just too big to cut down this way.â
I said.
âI couldnât find a weak point, Feodora.â
Eve said, clenching her teeth.
âWait for now, everyone, get in my shield.â
Vivian yelled.
When we got together, Vivian pushed her feet apart. Her ponytail flapped in the wind as she channeled her spectrum to her body.
She chanted, creating a large bright barrier to appear around us.
The world sparked a green color. There was no doubt about it, the spectrum this beast was using was going to be as massive as the one before.
Large objects crashed into the bright barrier, causing Vivian to flinch. The light was dimming down as she lost concentration.
âIâm not sure if I can withstand this attack, Eve!â
The white bunny cried as her legs shook from the pressure.
âFigures.â
Eve scorned.
She charged another spectrum alongside her.
Rocks and gusts of wind began assaulting their shields.
âDang it!â
Vivianâs magic broke, causing her to fall towards me.
I held her up.
âThat was too strong for me.â
Vivian bashed her hands on the ground.
âI wonât be able to hold this formation. We need to figure something out soon.â
Eve ordered.
âWait a minuteâ¦â
I thought about the slices I made on the beast. Fire was the most effective, causing the ruins to shake.
âI think I know what to do.â
I mumbled.
âOh? hurry up and tell us then!â
Eve said.
I blew hot hair, calming myself down.
âThereâs a red eye inside itâs body that I saw before I came back. If we aim and destroy it, Iâm sure the beast will die.â
âOkay, but right now, Iâm a little busy keeping us alive!â
Her spectrum was dying out too as the assault was getting stronger. The beastâs spectrum was destroying the infrastructure.
âIf I get us up there, we can do a coordinated attack on that spot. We just need to use fire spectrum and destroy it. Thatâs the most effective element.â
I ordered.
âHow are you going to do that? Should I release my barrier?â
Eve chided.
I sighed, slightly frustrated.
"Let me figure that out. I just need the two of you to be ready to strike its red eye when we can."
Eveâs legs began to shake.
The beast power increased.
âYou do know, Feodora, that if this doesnât work, weâre going to be dead from this spectrum, right?! No shield, all pain.â
The psycho complained as she held her ground.
âItâs either we die here, or we die up there. I don't know what else to say, Eve. But I won't die without a fight!"
I had to be firm about it. That's what Maxwell beat into me.
Do everything to live a little longer. Even if you do die, at least you went out doing your best to live.
âI believe in you, Feodora!â
My cheeks reddened from Vivian's cute words.
I calmed down to concentrate and searched the area.
With the natural light beaming right on the beast, I wouldn't be able to shadow-walk us all up there. The next best place would be-
âAlright, my shield is breaking, so letâs do this, Feodora!â
Eve shouted.
I closed my eyes, bled all my thoughts into the darkness around us. Vivian brought out her spear and readied up. I walked over, grabbed both of them by the hips, and pulled them close to me.
"Eh, what are you doing, trying to cop a feel, Feodora?"
Eve complained.
âGrabbing a girlâs waist. Youâre pretty bold for a hermit.â
I glared at Eve, but her bright eyes caught me off guard making it hard to look at her. She even had a devious smile. I couldnât read her true intentions.
âWow, your glowing purple eyes are so beautiful, Feodora! Let me see! Let me see!â
Vivian pushed her slim body on my side, trying to get a better look at my eyes. Both these girls were making it hard for me to focus!

I closed my eyes, trying my best to ignore them. This was much harder than I thought it would be.
I shadow walked with Vivian, but I had to push it and add a third. Their body heat also took me by surprise.
Vivian's was warm like the sun, but Eve's was colder, like a living ice sculpture. I focused all my thoughts away from them and went back to the darkest spot in the ruin.
We melted away just as Eveâs shield broke.
âWhat the?!â
Eve said.
We appeared to the upper left of the beast under the shadow of the sun. At an angle, we could see its pulsing red eye within its body.
Eve was taken aback by how quick it was.
âShoot, Eve! Vivian, toss your spear at it too! Fire spectrum, both of you!â
She spun her body around and aimed.
Eve shouted.
âHa!â
Vivian yelled.
She brought her body back and speared her weapon alongside Eve's bright fire ray. They both hit the bright red eye directly.
The beast cried. Its red eyes opened wider. The wind spectrum grew stronger, and we lifted off into the air.
âNo, you donât!â
I gripped my sword, channeling dark spectrum inside of it.
âHa!â
Like a lance, I speared the blade to the darkest spot in the cave.
âAhhhh!â
We all screamed as our bodies were spun in the storm. I held out for the right moment.
Eve and Vivian were crying in pain, and I was no different. If something wasnât done soon, we were going to die.
My chance came when a large enough object hovered over, casting a large dark shadow over the beastâs weak point.
âNow!â
My sword appeared from the shadow, slamming into the monsterâs red eye. Fire burned into its iris.
âDie already!â
The spectrum in my body resonated. Fire blasted from my blade, incinerating the massive beast from within.
It screeched in pain. We all toppled to the ground, as its body melted away into white dust.
The excessive powder flew into the atmosphere. In an instant, the beast was gone.
âOh my gosh, weâre alive!â
Vivian rushed over to me.
I sat up, and she wrapped her arms around me. Excitedly, she wrapped her legs around my waist and pulled me back and forth. My body hurt, and I was all bloody from the scratches on my face, but she smacked her cheeks right on mine.
âThat was soooo cool, Feodora! You were like a superhero! A real-life superhero!â
She nuzzled her nose against mine.
âYour eyes went purple! Then your slashes were like POW! BANG! POWWY! And then, and then, that last hit was like fireworks!â
Her small but perky chest pushed up against me, and her petite body fell on my lap. She wasnât letting go as she kept pulling me excitedly. Even Eve was smiling, likely relieved from being alive.
âOkay, I get it.â
I tried to calm her down, but she kept pulling and tugging me.
âIâm going to tell this story to everyone! That was so cool! So cool!â
Her grip was too tight. I couldnât breathe.

âArgg⦠help!â
I felt as though I was about to cough up blood.
âGet off her already, Vivian. Canât you see sheâs in pain?â
Noticing my agony, Vivian snapped out of it.
âPain? My apologies, Feodora!â
She finally released me and gave me the chance to breathe.
âEveryone is bleeding. Come close to me so I can heal our wounds.â
Eve nurtured our wounds.
She walked over to us and raised her hand. A tender mist captured my body, and my cuts and bruises stopped hurting as much. The pain from the debris smashing into me died down. It wasn't all gone, but it was much better.
âCome on girls, we need to investigate more.â
Eve said and walked over to the hole where the beast used to live. She jumped down further, looked around, and brought something up.
âHey, look at this.â
In her hand was a white robe.
âI know that robe!â
Vivian raced over and took hold of it. She scanned it as if imprinting it into her mind.
âWhat is it?â
I looked down from above. Eve turned to me and waved the robe around like a white flag.
âItâs a robe given to the members of the religious group, The Barons.â
Her eyes shined that creepy bright blue. It seemed she was excited about her find.
âSeems they are more involved with this than we suspected.â
So, the Baron Group, the popular religious group that seemed to be associated with this in some way.
âDang itâ¦â
I heard a faint voice in the distance. It seemed we found something that our stalker didnât like. They were on the move, and we would lose them if we didnât go to apprehend them soon.
âEve, Vivian!â
I called out to them. Immediately, Eve and Vivian ran to my side.
"Follow me! Move fast. Our stalker is on the move."
