Olivia looked up from her phone, puzzled on what Tyler was talking about on Twitter. She was standing on the set of her character's bedroom, almost ready to film the next scene for the day.
While a stylist perfected her hair, Olivia stole a glance at Dylan, who was across the room from her. Talking to Tyler, he didn't notice her staring at him, looking annoyed at their friend.
"There!" Her stylist, Anna, proclaimed. "Your hair is perfect!"
Olivia smiled and thanked the woman, before excusing herself. She headed towards the boys, since the camera crew wasn't ready yet, her curiosity growing as she watched Dylan flail his arms in aggravation.
"Woah, Dylan," she made her presence known with a teasing smile. "I'd be careful, your Stiles is showing."
Dylan released a heavy sigh and ran a hand through his spiked hair, "Oh you know me, Stiles is my favorite character."
Olivia looked at him weirdly, not understanding his words as he glared at Tyler. Focusing on their co-star, Olivia questioned, "Tyler, not that I mind, but why are you here? Scott isn't in this scene."
"But his best friends are," Tyler grinned, wiggling his eyebrows at the two. "This is Stiles and Sierra's make-up scene. Sue me for wanting to watch my OTP come back together!"
"Alrighty," Olivia chuckled, throwing her hands up in defense. "I was just wondering why everyone decided to come watch this scene."
"Everyone?" Dylan's eyes flickered over to her, his voice sounding worried. "Who else is here?"
Olivia turned and pointed to a small group of their co-stars that gathered together around their director chairs. "Crystal, Daniel, Tyler and Holland. I don't really know why, I told them it's not that exciting but they said their minds were set."
Dylan looked at Tyler suspiciously, who feigned innocence. "Yeah," Dylan forced a smile once Olivia turned back to them, "I wonder why they chose today to show up."
"Dylan! Olivia!" The director called their names. "We're ready when you are!"
"Good luck guys!" Tyler told them with a cheeky grin, before leaving to watch with the other cast members.
Dylan and Olivia exchanged glances before stepping away to get to their marks.
The scene was picking up after Sierra left Stiles in the Jeep, the boy realizing he couldn't be without her any longer. He was supposed to run into Sierra's room, say a line and then kiss her. A simple scene really, and Dylan wouldn't have thought twice about it on a normal day. Except all he could think of is what Tyler proclaimed earlier.
"That's ridiculous," Dylan whispered to himself, shaking his head and rolling his shoulders to get the thought to go away. "I don't have feelings for her. It's just a scene. I've kissed her before. Everything is fine. Just a scene."
"Quiet on the set!" Someone called out, making Dylan sigh.
"Just a scene," he repeated once more. "It's just a scene. No feelings, just acting."
"Sound?"
"Sound speed."
"Camera ready?"
"Camera rolling."
"Mark it. Scene thirty-two, shot one, take one."
Dylan focused as he heard the familiar sound of a clapperboard, getting ready to spring into his step once he heard the words.
"Settle! Action!"
Dylan burst through the fake bedroom door, Olivia turning at the sound just like she was supposed to.
"Stiles?" The way she said his character's name sent goosebumps down his arms as he came to a haunt a foot away from where she stood. "Did you forget something?"
"Yes, in matter of fact, I did," Dylan replied after taking two steps closer to her. He caught sight of her bright blue eyes, ignoring the way he felt his heart skip a beat.
The script just told them to kiss, not really giving the actors enough detail on how to pursue the action. Olivia followed Dylan's lead as he placed his hands on her cheeks, his fingers tangling themselves in her hair. The moment their lips touched, Olivia felt her breath hitch.
She focused on Dylan, thinking of Sierra's longing to be with a boy and pouring as emotion as she could into it. Her arms wrapped around his torso, their bodies pressing against one another's.
Dylan smiled widely as Stiles, his happiness radiating off of him. They slowly pulled away, both of their chests heaving from a loss of breath.
But Dylan had a line, gazing into her beautiful eyes as their noses playfully bumped against each other's. "I'm still in love with you," it fell from his lips naturally and he gazed down at her as she smiled, his chest tightening.
Feeling like it felt right, Olivia kissed him again briefly, standing on her tiptoes. "I'm still in love with you, too," she recited with small laugh, moving her hand to gently cup the side of his face.
Then she moved so her arms would wrap around his neck, her head burying itself in his shoulder as tears gathered in her eyes. "I missed you so much, Stiles."
She felt him hug her tighter, his voice muffling from her hair. "I missed you too, string bean." He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, adding, "I missed you so much."
"CUT!"
The two actors unwound from each other, stepping apart as Jeff Davis came over with a wide grin. "Guys, that was brilliant!" he exclaimed, raising his hand that held the script. "The emotion, the timing- that kiss! Just beautiful!"
Dylan wasn't even looking at the writer, his eyes on the girl beside him. Her cheeks were flushed, her lips slightly swollen, but she smiled kindly. "Thank you!" Olivia replied energetically. "Let us get back in our marks and we can do it again."
Jeff shook his head, still impressed with what he saw. "There's no need! We had tried out three different angles during the take and you guys executed everything perfectly. We're ready to move on to the next scene!"
Dylan couldn't help but frown. "Wait, really?" He asked, making Olivia glance at him. "Usually we have to do it like ten times."
Jeff grinned, "I know! Isn't it great? Production is moving faster this season so MTV gave us more equipment. This way we don't have to do as many takes. You guys have time to relax for a few if you want. Though stay close."
Both actors nodded, letting the writer smile once more before walking away. There was an awkward silence between the two, Dylan rubbing the back of his neck while Olivia looked anywhere but towards him.
"Livie," Dylan finally said the nickname he had given her the day they met. She claimed to hate it, but Dylan loved saying it. "You were great."
She raised her eyebrows in disbelief, unsure why he was complimenting her. He'd never done so in the past. "Two compliments in one day?" Olivia questioned, stifling a laugh. "You feeling okay, O'Brien?"
"I can insult you if you want," he suggested, making her giggle. At the sound he smiled, finding himself admiring the way her nose slightly scrunched up.
"No, I'll take the compliment," she told him, amused. "Did Tyler threaten you into being nice?"
"Hey, I can be nice!"
"Maybe," she shrugged. "But you've never been that way with me."
He opened his mouth, ready to reply until Crystal and Holland approached them excitedly. "Great scene, guys!" the darker-haired girl gushed, her hands clasped together. "The fans are going to love it!"
"Though I am surprised, neither of you messed up your lines," Holland mused. "Usually it takes you two a few tries."
"Hey, we're professionals," Olivia defended herself and Dylan. "But that doesn't mean we can't have fun! Jeff even said we don't need to do another take because he loved it so much."
Impressed, her co-stars exchanged glances. "Before you get pulled away again, we wanted to talk to you about..." Crystal couldn't figure out what to say, making it known Holland and herself were hiding something.
Dylan looked at them curiously when Holland glanced his way, the girl coming up with a lie. "Just girl stuff," she shrugged it off and grabbed Olivia's arm. "But we can't talk here."
"Wait," Dylan protested before they left. "Olivia and I were in the middle of something before you all came over. I'd kind of like to finish what we started."
Crystal waved her hand, dismissing him. "Don't worry, Dyl. We promise we won't harm your girlfriend. You'll have her back in one piece soon."
"We're not dating," Dylan and Olivia stated simultaneously in annoyance, Holland chuckling.
"Yeah, okay. Believe what you want. But Dylan, you get to film with her all day. So let us have this."
Without another word, Crystal and Holland pulled Olivia away, the dirty-blonde only able to send him an apologetic smile before following them off the set.
Dylan watched the trio leave, his lips tugged downward in disappointment. But he didn't have much time to himself as Tyler came bouncing over.
"My man!" Tyler announced with a laugh, wrapping an arm around Dylan's shoulder. "Look at you making out with Olive. My heart's exploding as we speak."
Dylan rolled his eyes, "Dude, please don't."
Confused, Tyler tilted his head and stood properly in front of him. "Why? What's wrong?"
"I don't really know," Dylan replied, his face scrunching together while he shoved his hands in his pockets. "It's just something Livie said. It's bugging me."
Tyler waited for him to continue, but Dylan was too busy watching Olivia, as she now was across the room talking in hushed whispers with the other girls. Annoyed, Tyler punched Dylan's shoulder to gain his attention back.
"Ow!" Dylan complained, widening his eyes at his best friend. "What was that for!?"
"Because instead of talking, you were gazing," Tyler deadpanned. "What did Olivia say?"
"I complimented her on the scene but she didn't believe me," Dylan revealed, finally moving his eyes off of the girl. "She thought you had threatened me into being nice to her."
"I mean, I'm not really surprised," Tyler told him. "You guys have been bickering since the first day on set."
"Yeah, I know, but I don't like that she thinks I'm not capable of being a decent human," Dylan stated, unable to hide how much her comment bugged him. Did Olivia really think he couldn't be nice? "What should I do?"
Tyler smirked knowingly, "You like her, don't you? Come on, tell me I was right. I knew I was. Gosh, you two would be perfect together."
"T-Pose, I do not like her," Dylan interrupted in irritation, but the way he glanced back at Olivia told Tyler otherwise. "Alright? I'm just not okay with her thinking I'm a jerk anymore. So can you wipe that stupid smile off your face and tell me how to fix this?"
"I thought you'd never ask."
