Jisung offered Chenle a glass of water, which the shorter took without protesting. Chenle was looking down, avoiding at all costs making eye contact with the vampire. He was partly frustrated the taller insisted on being nice to him and partly happy he felt Jisung still had feelings for him. A part of him wanted to be selfish and wished the vampire would never stop loving him, but his rational self was yelling at him for not achieving his original goal of making Jisung hate him.
He held the glass for a while and the chugged down all of its contents without batting an eye. He felt the taller's gaze on him, but decided to ignore it.
They stayed in silence for a while, until Jisung decided to speak.
'Why are you not looking at me?'
Chenle didn't answer. He finally looked at Jisung in the eyes and handed him back the empty glass.
Jisung wanted to apologize for what he was about to do. He wanted to beg the older to return his feelings. He wanted to yell at him that no matter how hard he tried, he would never get rid of his feelings. He had tried numerous times to do so himself, and so far hadn't succeeded.
They stared at each other, and suddenly Chenle's eyes started failing him. Jisung's face was blurry and he felt his head spinning.
'W-what the fuck did you g-give me?!' He yelled as he placed his hands on his temples, trying his best not to give up and close his eyes.
'I'm sorry...'
'Y-you fucking psy... cho...' And those were his last words before losing his consciousness and landing on Jisung's arms.
Jisung couldn't resist the urge to caress the human's hair softly and kiss his cheek. He got up, carefully lifting the older who, much to his surprise, wrapped his legs around his waist and his arms around his neck unconsciously. He cooed at the human's actions.
How are you so soft when you sleep, yet so untameable when you're awake?
He carried the human outside the room and Taeyong went near him as soon as he saw him.
'Give me the human. I'll carry him.' Taeyong motioned for him to pass him the human.
Jisung wanted to give Chenle to the older, but no matter how much he tried, the human wouldn't let go of him. He didn't want to hurt Chenle, but the more he moved, the tighter he held onto Jisung. Taeyong got fed up with it and snatched the human from him, making Chenle whine in his drug induced sleep.
'Where are we meeting the humans?' Jisung asked. He waited for Taeyong's response, but instead felt a par of arms sneaking around his body and restraining him from moving.
'We are meeting the humans. You're staying here.' Taeyong said emphasizing the 'we'.
'W-what?! Why?! I want to come too!' Jisung said as he tried to free himself. 'Jeno, let me go!'
'Jisung, we both know you would just be a nuisance if you came with us. If the humans cause too much trouble, well kill him. And we don't want you to interfere. It's the best for all of us, so you just stay here with Jaemin and Jeno.' Taeyong said as he carried the human like he was a sack of potatoes.
Jisung wanted to release himself from Jeno's grasp, but the pure blooded was stronger than him and had Jaemin by his side, who looked at him empathetically.
'You... You're going to kill him, aren't you?! Taeyong, if you kill him I won't ever forgive you!'
Taeyong ignored the younger's words and left with Chenle on his shoulder, followed by Jaehyun and Doyoung.
'Donghyuck is going to kill you, you know?' Jungwoo said as he patted Mark's shoulder.
'I know, but he wouldn't have let me come if I told him the truth. You know how he gets every time I mention Johnny...'
'I understand, I was just reminding you you'll have to deal with a mad Donghyuck as soon as you go home.'
Jungwoo and Mark were on their way, they had to meet with the other three vampires and hide near the meeting point with the humans to make sure nothing suspicious happened.
Jungwoo hid in an abandoned house. He sneaked in through the window which had its glass completely shattered. Mark jumped on the rooftop of a house that wasn't really tall. He looked at his watch.
01:18, nine minutes left.
'I don't want to!'
'Johnny, shut the fuck up!' Ten yelled as he slapped the vampire. 'Don't you fucking bite Dejun.' He warned.
Johnny obeyed and let the human put a leash on his collar. Then, Ten tightened a piece of cloth around his mouth to prevent him from speaking.
'Don't take this off.' He said. Then, he kissed the vampire's cheek. 'Good boy.'
The humans finally arrived at exactly 01:27. One of them was tugging on a leash for Johnny to walk.
'Where is Chenle?' Asked Kun.
'One, two... three, four, five... six... seven... I see you're all here.' Taeyong said. He motioned for Jaehyun, who was carrying the human, to come closer. 'Here he is. Give us Johnny first.'
'No. We-'
'I am the one who puts the rules here, got it?' Taeyong said while raising Chenle's chin with his finger threateningly.
The human who had Johnny's leash glared at him. Nonetheless, he handed Taeyong the leash. Taeyong nodded at Jaehyun and the younger went closer to the humans.
'Here he is. All yours.'
Kun took Chenle from Jaehyun carefully, making sure he was breathing and alive. Chenle was still warm, which meant he was still a human. That was a relief to all of them.
Jungwoo jumped off the window from where he was looking at them and landed behind the humans quietly. However, Yukhei heard him, turning around immediately and pointing his gun at Jungwoo.
'Don't move.' He said to the vampire. Jungwoo raised his hands in surrender.
Yukhei wanted to pull the trigger, he was about to do so.
Don't shoot.
It was Lucas. He was preventing him from doing so. His body started sweating.
We have to shoot, he will kill us.
Don't you fucking shoot, Yukhei.
Lucas, we'll die if we don't. SHOOT.
Don't move a muscle, that vampire-
Both of them felt an unbearable pain piercing through their abdomen. Lucas looked down and saw a hand coming through his stomach from behind. Yukhei wanted to scream in pain, but nothing would come from his mouth no matter how hard he tried. Lucas looked at the vampire in front of him and dropped the gun. Then, he felt the vampire behind him removing his hand harshly. Yukhei dropped to his knees as he tasted the blood in his mouth. He breathed heavily, but it was hard to do so. His body hurt, specially the part where the vampire's hand had literally perforated him.
Lucas, we're going to die!
So what?
I can't fucking believe you. You got us killed for a stupid vampire. Why didn't you let me pull the trigger?!
I just couldn't let you kill him, okay?! Fucking calm down. You knew we would have died sooner or later anyways.
You're right. We deserve this.
We've always been nothing but a killing machine, Yukhei. How many people, both vampires and humans, have we killed? How many times have we been used to end someone else's life?
And how many times have we done this because we wanted to? None. We were always under someone's orders.
We're just a tool. A chess pawn.
But not anymore. We are free now. Free from everything.
This is our end, Yukhei.
See you in hell, Lucas.
