Chapter 715 Kyranâs Phone Is In His Car âThatâs simple. My friend knows how to copy a photo. Iâll get in contact with him now.â
âIâm sorry, Glenna,â Deirdre said apologetically. âYouâve helped me so much, yet I still need you to help me do something at this late hour.â
Glenna smiled and said, âYou donât have to apologize to me. Youâve helped me a lot, right? Besides, weâre friends, and as friends, we should be helping each other.â
Deirdre, who was touched by Glennaâs words, nodded. She did not sleep well throughout the entire night. However, she still woke up very early the next day.
She had not forgotten her promise to Brendan. Brendan was rather impatient as well, as he called her and asked where she was as soon as the clock struck eight.
Deirdre told him the address of the neighborhood. Glenna had already gone to work, so she walked to the entrance of the neighborhood alone. As soon as she went out, she captured the figure of a man through her blurred vision.
âWhere is my suit?â he asked, getting down to business at once.
Deirdre handed the bag to him. When Brendan took the bag, he realized that his suit was wet.
âI took a bath last night. I thought you didnât want this suit anymore, so I threw it on the floor. If youâre not happy with it, I can help you clean it.â
âThatâs not necessary,â Brendan said calmly. He turned around to open the car door and said, âGet in.
Iâll take you back.â
Deirdre frowned and declined. âI can go back by myself.â
âGet in the car if you donât want anything dangerous to happen to you again. Donât make me repeat myself,â Brendan said sternly.
âI will never be safe with you by my side.â Deirdre chided him inwardly. However, she could not say no to Brendan since he insisted on making her get in his car.
As soon as she got in his car, Brendan started the engine. The two of them did not talk to each other throughout the entire journey.
Deirdreâs head was filled with the photo. She did not even realize that they had already arrived at their destination.
âAre we here?â
Just as she began unbuckling her seatbelt, Brendan grabbed her hand.
A second later, Deirdre pulled her hand out of his grip and looked at him warily. âWhat are you doing?â
The light in Brendanâs eyes dimmed as he said in a cold voice, âDonât worry. Iâve already told you many times. Iâm not interested in you. I just wanted to tell you that we havenât arrived yet.â
âWe havenât arrived yet?â Deirdre frowned. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down and said, âThen why did you stop your car?â
Brendan said, âYou havenât had breakfast yet, have you? There are a lot of restaurants here. Do you want to grab something to eat?â
Deirdre was stunned.
âHe is⦠Heâs worried about me not having breakfast?
Was he showing kindness to her, or was he putting on another show for her?
Deirdre closed her eyes and opened them again in a second. âTm not hungry. Please take me back now, or Iâll get out of the car.â
Brendan fell silent. After a while, he unbuckled his seatbelt and said, âWait for me in the car.â
Without waiting for her to say anything, he got out of the car. To prevent her from running away, he locked the door as well.
Deirdre clenched the hem of her clothes tightly. Sometimes, she just could not see through Brendan.
He had a volatile temper. One second, he might be the gentlest man in the world, but the next second, he might become the monster that everyone feared.
She decided to call Kyran since Brendan was not around. She typed his phone number and placed her phone near her ear.
A second later, Kyranâs phone rang in the car and Deirdreâs face turned as pale as a sheet. She looked toward the source of the ringtone and her brain went blank.
At that moment, Brendan opened the door. When he saw the shocked expression on Deirdreâs face and heard the ringtone that belonged to Kyranâs phone, his pupils constricted.
