Alexanderâs POVâAxelâ¦,â I spoke to my wolf, but he interrupted me.âI already told her to talk to you,â he said, making me sigh in relief. For some reason, Axel could talk to Stella whenever he wanted to. I couldnât. I had to wait for her to talk to me first. You found a way? I heard Stellaâs voice in my head, making me smile a little.I missed her terribly. I missed my Fia even more.We did. I told her. We have to find a way to bring you to the surface. You have to take control of Sophiaâs body.Stella was silent for a moment.Okay. She mumbled. How will that help? I canât replace her. I am a part of her, but I am not Sophia. You wonât be replacing her. I said. You will just need to take control so Hunter can mark you.Stella gasped. Will that work? She asked. Will that bring Sophia back?I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Goddess, I hoped so. I missed my sister like crazy. I missed my best friend.I hope so, Stella. I said. I miss her.Stella whined quietly, making my heart clench. I wished that I could see her, run my fingers through her fur, and tell her that everything would be okay.I miss her too. Stella mumbled.I opened my eyes and looked at Hunter. His eyes were already on me.âIs it Stella?â he asked quietly, making everyone in the room look at him.He looked terrible and I couldnât even imagine what he was going through. I still hadnât met my mate, but just the thought of losing my mate like he lost his, had me seeing red. I couldnât even imagine the pain he must have felt.âYes,â I said, making him gulp. âI told her about the plan.âHunter nodded and I focused back on Stella.Do you have any idea how to take control, Stella? I asked her.No. She sighed. But I will try whatever I can think of.Okay. I said. Let me know how itâs going.I will. Stella said. I love you, Alex. I will be there soon. I promise.I love you too, Stella. I told her before she cut our link.I took a deep breath and looked up at my family.âShe will try whatever she can,â I mumbled quietly.âWe need to help her,â Anna said as she approached my mom. âMaybe there is a spell that could help her. Or maybe we could create one.âMy mom nodded, but my dad shook his head.âNot now,â my dad said sternly. âEmma needs to sleep. Sophia is safe in that room and one of us will be there at all times.âI agreed with my dad. As much as I wanted to bring Fia back now, I couldnât let my mom hurt herself. She needed a small break.âI can rest after Iâ¦â My mom spoke, but my dad interrupted her.âNo, Emma,â he said with determination in his voice. âYou will end up hurt and you wonât be able to help her then. Nothing will happen if you take a little break. Anna can start without you.ââAlpha Logan is right, Luna,â Hunter spoke, his voice quiet and raspy. âI need you to bring my mate back to me. If you hurt yourself, you wonât be able to do that.âMy mom sighed, stood up, and approached Hunter slowly. My heart broke watching her. She looked like she was about to pass out.Hunterâs mom stood up so my mom could sit between Hunter and Alpha Nathan.Hunter looked at my mom and gave her a small smile. It didnât reach his eyes, though. He looked like he was about to cry.âI will bring her back to you, Hunter,â my mom said as she pulled him into a hug. âI promise. I will bring your mate back.âThat was all it took for Hunter to start sobbing quietly. I gulped, trying to stop my own tears. I looked around the room and saw that everyone was trying to do the same.âAnd please stop calling me, Luna,â my mom said, as she let Hunter go and smiled at him. âItâs just Emma, okay?âHunter wiped his cheeks and gave her a small nod.âThank you, Emma,â Hunter mumbled quietly.I watched as Alpha Nathan reached out and took my momâs hand in his. I could feel the tension in the room rising rapidly. My own muscles clenched and I was ready to attack.I knew by now that Alpha Nathan wasnât going to hurt my mom, but I reacted on instinct. It was my mom and I couldnât let her get hurt. I had to protect her.I glanced at my dad and uncle. Both were ready to jump in if needed. My mom remained calm. She squeezed Alpha Nathanâs hand and gave him a small smile.âThank you for your kindness, Emma,â Alpha Nathan said. âThank you for taking care of my son.âMy momâs smile grew. âThere is no need to thank me, Nathan. Hunter is a part of my family now, and I will always take care of him.âMy heart grew. My mom was an amazing woman.âOkay, you need to go lay down,â my dad said as he approached my mom.She let Nathanâs hand go and stood up. My dad wrapped an arm around her shoulders and I saw him visibly relax.âI will start researching, Emma,â Anna said, making me look at her. âI will try to come up with a spell.ââThank you, Anna,â my mom said softly as she and my dad started walking away.I looked at Hunter and took a deep breath.âDo you want to go see her?â I asked, making him look at me.He nodded and stood up immediately.âRemember,â Anna said, making us both look at her. âDonât show it your fear. It feeds off of it.âHunter flinched. I clenched my jaw and nodded. It wasnât possible for me to show it my fear because I wasnât afraid. We found a way to bring my Fia back, and that gave me all the courage I needed.
