Harley Louis sent Wendy Liam back to her apartment. He stopped the car at the main entrance of the apartment.
When Wendy was getting out of the car, Harley muttered, âMiss Liam, please stop playing any tricks. We are not fools.â
Wendy was stunned. Then, she turned around to look at Harley. She smiled and said, âAh? What did you just say? I donât understand.â
âItâs fine if you donât understand. But Iâll only warn you once. Amos is meant to be together with Eudora. You canât compete with her!â
Wendy pursed her lips and said, âIâve never thought about competing with anyone!â
âThatâs good to hear. Perhaps you should try to improve your skills while Amos is still kind to you. Stop fooling around. Otherwise, Amos will not even want to pay back your kindness.â
After saying that, he drove off quickly.
Wendy pursed her lips and turned around to walk to the apartment.
The servant hurried over when she saw Wendy. She asked, âWhere have you been? You scared me to death. Iâve been looking for you for the whole morning.â
âIâm fine!â Wendy shook her head and said. âWhereâs my tutor? Is he here?â She asked.
âHe was here. But, he left because you were not home.â
âPlease ask him to come back. Also, tell him that I want to be tutored for ten hours every day.â
âTen hours? Wouldnât it be too tiring for you?â The servant asked.
âNo!â Wendy responded. Then, she murmured, âHow can I compete with Eudora if I donât put in more effort?â
The servant was surprised, âWhat did you say?â
âNothing!â
â¦
Wendy did not show up in front of Eudora for a long time.
Eudora was busy as well. She was preparing for the finals. She had just received a notification saying that she had to prepare another piece of design blueprint for the finals.
Eudora saw Auntie Valerie throwing something away when she just reached home.
Auntie Valerie was stunned when she saw Eudora. She quickly explained, âIâm throwing some useless things away.â
âOkay!â Eudora didnât seem to mind too much.
Auntie Valerie walked towards Eudora and said, âMiss George, did Miss Liam cause any trouble for you recently?â
Eudora was stunned. She said, âWhy did you bring her up? Did she come here today?â
âShe didnât come here.â Auntie Valerie said. âBut, I donât think Miss Liam is a good person. She thought she could request for anything because she saved Sirâs life before. I donât like her. Miss George, you should be careful of her.â
Eudora laughed. âI donât like her either!â
Both of them looked at each other and smiled.
Amos saw both of them giggling when he came back. He asked, âWhy are you two so happy? Is there any good news?â
Auntie Valerie was stunned. She shook her head and said, âNothing. Sir, youâre back so early today. Iâll prepare dinner now!â
Amos held Eudoraâs hand after Auntie Valerie left. He asked, âWhy do you look thinner recently?â
Eudora looked at her body and said, âOh, really? I didnât realise.â
âYeah. It doesnât feel as good when I touch you now.â Amos said.
Eudora frowned and retorted, âSo, are you telling me this because you care more about how you feel when you touch me?â
âWhat do you think?â Amos said while pulling her towards him.
They were still standing outside the house. Eudora pushed him away and said, âPlease stop fooling around. Letâs go in.â
Amos prompted Eudora to eat more during dinner. Eudora was very full after the meal. Therefore, she asked Amos out for a walk.
The night view at Clearwater Bay was very beautiful.
There was a row of lamp posts beside the pedestrian walk. Both of them walked side by side on the pedestrian walk slowly. It was a romantic moment.
All of a sudden, they saw a road sign. There were two words on it: Blissful road.
Eudora burst into laughter. She said, âDoes this mean that weâll have a blissful life if we walk on the road? This designer is really creative and playful.â
âLetâs try it out!â Amos held her hand and walked forward.
âSure.â Eudora played along.
Both of them kept walking forward. In the end, they were lost.
There was a pile of ruins in front of the road. The place had not been fully developed fully yet.
Eudora was exhausted. Her legs were sore. She said sadly, âI donât want to walk anymore.â
Amos put his hands in his pockets and looked at Eudora.
âDidnât you want to go forward fearlessly? Well, are you not going to walk anymore?â
Eudora pursed her lips and whined, âThatâs what I said just now. Iâve changed my mind now.â
Then, Amos went over and half-squatted in front of her.
âCâmon, let me carry you back.â
âReally? Iâm not going to be merciful towards you!â Eudora climbed up his back before she finished speaking.
Amos had broad shoudlers. Eudora felt a sense of security when she was on his back.
She suddenly remembered that Gordon George liked to carry Kesha George on his back when they were young. Eudora could only look at Kesha with envy every time. Eudora held Amos tightly when she thought about this.
Amos felt her tightened grip. He asked softly, âWhatâs wrong?â
Eudora sniffed, âIâm just feeling very touched. Thank you, Amos.â
Amos was also touched. He said, âSuch a silly girl.â
They heard noises coming from their house while they were talking and walking home.
Eudora was stunned. She asked, âIsnât that Auntie Valerieâs voice?â
She got off from Amosâ back and walked back to the house. They saw Auntie Valerie quarelling with another woman. Wendy Liam was standing behind them. She was holding a dirty shirt.
Wendy hugged the shirt tightly when she saw Amos coming over.
The woman, who was arguing with Auntie Valerie, approached Amos.
She was Wendyâs servant, Auntie Agnes.
âSir, youâre here at the right time. Iâd like to ask why such a thing will happen. Miss Liam has been learning about design every day. This shirt is her first masterpiece. She said that she made it specially for you because she was grateful for your care. She wanted to give it to you in person. But, she was afraid that someone would be unhappy. So, she asked me to send it to you.â
Auntie Agnes glanced at Eudora and continued, âI handed the shirt over to Auntie Valerie. She told me that she would pass it to you. Miss Liam was very happy after hearing this. She wanted to come here to see what you look like when you put it on. But, we found the shirt in the trash can.â
Amos frowned and turned to look at Auntie Valerie. He asked, âIs that true?â
Auntie Valerie nodded her head and admitted, âYes.â
Auntie Agnes said, âSir, you heard it. Iâm telling the truth. She could have rejected me if she didnât intend to pass this shirt to you. Or did someone else throw this away?â
There was a hidden meaning in her words. She was accusing Eudora indirectly.
Eudora frowned and said, âDo you mean that I was the one who threw it away?â
âWho knows? Anyway, I donât believe that a servant dares to do this on her own accord.â
Upon hearing this, Auntie Valerie said immediately, âSir, it really has nothing to do with Miss. Itâs my fault. I threw it away because I donât like how Miss Liam kept pestering you. Itâs all my fault. Iâm willing to face any consequences.â
