The representative from the organizer turned into a complete bootlicker immediately when he saw Amos.
He flooded Amos with all kinds of compliments. Eudora was sick of seeing him.
Amos, on the other hand, didnât utter a single word, keeping his cool.
For some reason, Eudora recalled his look while he was on the bedâ¦
Christopher, who was standing beside her, whispered, âWhatâs wrong? What are you looking at?â
Eudoraâs cheeks turned red. She quickly shook her head and replied, âNothing.â
The meeting began. The organizers wanted to see the design from Amosâ side first. In fact, Eudora wanted to see theirs too. His company was way stronger and she was not going to underestimate them.
Without surprise, their design indeed looked a lot more sophisticated.
However, Eudora was a little disappointed as none of their designs were based on a European style. She would not have a chance to compete with them on the same ground then.
The representative started flattering Amos again. Eudora could hardly stand it anymore. It seemed like the chances of them winning this case were slim.
Fortunately, Everpeace Group was under the Gellert family after all. Despite being in an unfavorable situation, the organizer did not dare to ignore Everpeace.
When Eudora was presenting her design, the representative didnât look at it even once.
He turned to Amos and said, âMr. Granger, shall we sign the contract?â
Eudora frowned and muttered, âBut you havenât even seen our work.â
âIâve already seen it!â The man defended.
âYou didnât!â Eudora fumed. Despite spending so much effort, they were still nothing in the eyes of others.
âWhatâs wrong with you?â The representative felt a flicker of irritation and roared, âI said that Iâve seen it! Your work is bad. What else do you want?â
Eudora retorted, âNo, you donât want to see it at all. If you are not going to choose us in the beginning, why did you waste our time?â
He felt a stab of anger. He raised his hand, attempting to hit Eudora.
Christopher, who was beside, quickly pushed Eudora behind him and punched the representative. The man could feel his anger rippling through him. Before he could throw out his punch, someone held his arm from behind.
âPresident Grangerâ¦â The representative grimaced in pain. âWhatâs going on?â
Amos was staring at Eudora with a stern look. Her eyes were watery as she was immobilized with fury.
Amos pushed the representative away, walked over and grabbed Eudora towards him, and asked, âAre you okay?â
Eudora shook her head. Amos instructed Clint, âTake her out.â
Clint Zuckerberg escorted Eudora out, leaving only Christopher and Amos in the room.
Amosâ eyes darkened as he said, âStop what youâre doing, Christopher!â
Christopher remained gentle and elegant, and teased, âIs President Granger playing riddles with me? I donât understand what you said!â
Amos snorted, âYou can choose not to bring your designer here today.â
âYou are right, but my plan worked. You are here and she is also here. You have seen how much she loves her work! If she gets this chance, it is definitely going to help her career. Do you want to see her lose?â
âShe will have more opportunities,â Amos replied.
âShe is going to have tons of opportunities if she follows you. But Iâm not going to grant your wish!â Christopher left the room as soon as he finished his words.
âLetâs go back to the company,â Christopher said.
Eudora nodded. Clint hurriedly stopped her, âMiss George, President Granger is waiting for you.â
âLet her go!â Amos said. Christopher was right. This woman loved her job. She would not want to stay for him at this moment.
Clint let go of Eudora and watched them leave.
â¦
When they got outside, Eudora apologized to Christopher.
âSorry, I acted too emotionally just now. It is all my fault.â
Christopher shook his head. âDo you think that we were going to win if you did not act like that?â He comforted and added, âBut, it definitely feels so good to teach that bootlicker a lesson.â
Eudora felt guilty. All their hard work went down the drain.
She thought that she could use this opportunity to improve her portfolio.
Ringgggggggâ¦! Christopherâs phone rang.
He looked at the number and told, âHere comes our chance.â
Eudora didnât understand what he meant until Christopher explained, âThey ask us to go back to sign the contract.â
âHuh?â Eudora was confused, âBut didnât I mess it up? Why would they do this?â
âIsnât it obvious? Because your design is great!â Christopher said with a smile.
They went back and was approached by another manager.
He, unlike the bootlicker, was very polite. âI apologize for my colleague for bringing you such an unpleasant experience and we have taken appropriate disciplinary actions on him. Now I will be fully responsible for our future collaboration.â
Eudora looked around and saw no one from Valiant East, including Amos.
She blurted out, âWhat about Valiant East? Where are they?â
The manager smiled and answered, âTheir designs are indeed very good. But our boss likes your design more!â
Eudora was relieved and nodded.
After signing the contract, Christopher proposed, âLetâs go! I will treat you to dinnerâ
âThanks, but itâs alright,â Eudora declined and shook her head. âAnother day!â
Christopher gossiped, âAre you afraid that President Granger will be jealous?â
Christopher was the first colleague who knew about her relationship with Amos. Eudora felt uncomfortable hearing him comment about their relationship.
âPresident Gellert, please stay away from my private life.â
Christopher burst out laughing. âAlright, forget it. Iâm not going to ruin the mood. Go home and get some rest. Youâll be busy at work from tomorrow onwardsâ
He got in the car and left.
Eudora drove her own car today. She wanted to go home initially but decided to go to the mall to celebrate.
The manager said that her design was chosen because they liked it.
However, Eudora knew in her heart this was only possible with Amosâ help and the reputation of Valiant East Group.
She wanted to give him a present to repay his kindness.
