Amos and Juju withdrew their gazes and nodded with a smiling face.
âHarley is right. Itâs good.â
Harley was speechless.
Wouldnât they feel guilty for lying through their teeth?
The four of them walked past the garden and went to the room. Harley quickened his pace when he caught sight of an extra little beauty in the house.
âHello, beautifulâ¦â
As soon as his words settled, he looked at the completely different room in front of him in bewilderment, âIâm sorry, I think that Iâm in the wrong place!â
He rushed out immediately and turned to look at Amos and Eudora, only to realize that he hadnât gone in the wrong direction.
He then stared at the terrifying mash-up of the room once again. His face twitched.
âWhy⦠why did you decorate the house in such a way?â
âIsnât it nice?â Juju asked in reply.
Nice? Of all things, nice would be the last word that he would use to describe this room. It was atrocious!
The color combination and the type of furniture were completely mismatched. It was terrifyingâ¦
He had initially thought that he had no preferences for his living environment as his house was always untidy like a pigsty. However, when he looked at this room right now, he felt that even his own pigsty was better.
At this moment, Juju asked again, âIsnât it nice?â
Harley was about to speak, but his gaze fell on Eudora once again.
âEudora, this isnât your doing, is it?â
Wesley, Charlie, and Cindy, who were standing behind her, nodded stiffly.
Harley chuckled helplessly. He couldnât seem to find the courage to continue his sentence.
âIt is quite nice.â
Three of them laughed.
Harley decided to stay away from Eudora and Amos immediately as he did not want to compliment them insincerely. Instead, he opted to play with Juju.
âItâs still early. Shall I prepare dinner?â Cindy asked.
âOf course!â Harley cried, âIâm so hungry that I could starve to death!â
Amos nodded as well. They had not had anything yet for the whole night. Dinner was a must.
Cindy turned around and went to prepare dinner. Eudora waited for them to leave before glancing at the tragic decorations in front of her.
âIâm sorry. I crossed the line.â
Amos shook his head, âItâs fine.â
âDonât lie to me. I canât stand it anymore.â Eudora knew that her reputation as a chief designer would be ruined if others were to know about this matter.
She finally spoke after a long pause.
âCould we still get our old furniture back?â
She asked prudently, blinking like an innocent rabbit.
Amos couldnât refrain from smiling, âI donât think that thatâs possible!â
Eudora frowned, âI see.â
It seemed that she needed to look for another way to decorate this room again. At this moment, Amos spoke again.
âWe could still buy them again.â
Eudora shook her head hurriedly, âForget it! I think that itâd be better if I were to redecorate the room. Let me try!â
Amos pursed his lips, âWouldnât that be tiring?â
âItâs okay. Iâll just regard it as practicing my craft.â
Amos had no choice but to compromise. He was fine with anything as long as it made her happy.
On this particular night, Harley had left right after dinner instead of lying on the sofa as he would usually do. He shuddered when he saw the European-style sofa that stuck out like a sore thumb in the living room.
Eudora was speechless. She wondered if it was that scary.
â¦
Eudora took the initiative the next day to make an appointment with Helen. After that, she went to the hospital where Helen worked at.
Helen thought that they were here for a checkup. She was surprised, âWhy didnât you call me? Are you feeling unwell?â
Eudora shook her head, âNo, Iâm here to terminate my pregnancy.â
Helen was stunned and she turned to look at Amos.
Amos nodded behind her, gesturing to her that he had also consented to the request. Only then did Helen nod in agreement, âAlright, weâll do some examinations first and check on the condition of the fetus. After that, weâll come up with a plan.â
Amos added promptly, âSafety comes first!â
âAlright!â Helen led Eudora into the inner room after sheâd finished speaking.
They started with basic tests, followed by an ultrasound examination. When they waited for the report at the hall, they could hear people around them whispering, âThis couple looked so sweet. Why did they come here to do this?â
âItâs hard to tell. Canât you see that the man is freaking handsome? Perhaps he was the one who didnât want the baby anymore.â
âI think so too. Thereâs no other reason why they wouldnât want the baby then.â
Eudora frowned but Amos merely held her hand, âItâs alright. I donât care about what others say as long as you donât get hurt.â
Helen soon brought the results out for them. She didnât know the story about the child but she felt troubled when she looked at the ultrasound report.
âThe fetus is very healthy and is growing very well. The fetus is almost four months old. Are you sure that you would like to terminate your pregnancy?â
Eudoraâs heart was in turmoil. However, she nodded when she thought of her decision to start fresh again.
âYes, Iâm sure.â
On the other hand, Amos seemed to have noticed that there was something odd about Helenâs words, âIsnât the fetus only three months old? Why did you say that itâs already four months old?â
Amos had been observing Eudoraâs every movement ever since she got pregnant. He remembered clearly that it was written two months and ten days on her pregnancy report the last time. It had been only less than a month since that day.
Helen was stunned, and she retrieved the previous file immediately. Indeed, the report had clearly stated that the pregnancy was only three months along. However, the ultrasound picture that she had checked just now clearly showed that the fetus was four months old!
âIâm sorry, President Granger. Iâll have to do another examination for the Madam.â
Helen was very nervous. Before taking over this case, her father had told her that President Granger was extremely concerned about Miss George. Therefore, she had to take good care of the Madam and ensure that there would be no room for mistakes.
Helen was nearly scared out of her wits now that things had turned out this way.
President Granger looked visibly displeased, and he seemed as though he was ready to kill someone.
At this moment, Amos spoke again, âIâll join you this time!â
Helen was so frightened that her whole body trembled. Eudora thought that she was going to burst out crying.
To prevent her from making a mistake again, Eudora spoke hurriedly, âWait me a moment.â
Soon after, she walked over and stood in front of Amos. She grinned and spoke, âItâs probably just a careless mistake. Iâm sure that Doctor Leon didnât do it intentionally! Donât be so harsh to her!â
At this moment, Helen admired Eudora very much, having not expected her to be able to tame a wild lion like Amos.
Amos immediately reverted into an adorable kitten upon hearing Eudoraâs words.
âFine. Iâm not angry.â
Helen was rendered speechless.
Her father wasnât lying at all. Only the Madam could cajole with Mr. Granger!
Eudora then reached out to raise the corner of Amosâ lips, âSmile for me?â
At this moment, a small smile crept onto his lips.
