Amos Granger gave in to her. âGet in the car!â
Eudora George was overjoyed. She got in the car and kissed Amos on the cheek.
Instantly embarrassed, Eudora hurriedly lowered her head.
Amos took her to a large bookstore. Eudora knew what she wanted, so she got the book and paid the bill.
Eudora was as thrilled as a teenage girl.
Amos was crestfallen. Who would have known that he would lose to a few books? Even more annoying was that the little woman did not notice his mood at all.
He flicked his hand on Eudoraâs forehead and she turned around suspiciously. With that innocent smile on her face, she looked like an angel.
Amos felt his stomach tighten and thought, âThis womanâ¦â
Neither of them knew that behind them, a pair of eyes watched them with hatred.
Just when they were leaving, Amosâ cell phone suddenly rang. It should be business. He excused himself.
Eudora stood where she was, waiting for him. Suddenly, a person behind her rushed over and slapped Eudora without hesitation.
âB*tch, who do you think you are?â the woman screamed.
Eudora was stunned and glared at her angrily. âDid you mistake me for someone else?â
âItâs you I want to hit!â The woman tried to hit her again, but Eudora grabbed her hand and pushed her away. âEnough! I donât know you. If you hit me again, Iâll call the police!â
âCall the police! Letâs see if the police will save you, you shameless gold digger!â the woman sreeched.
Eudoraâs face turned pale. âWho are you?â
Eudora didnât know this woman at all, but she seemed to know her.
âYou dare ask me who I am?! I warn you, you better leave Amos as soon as possible, otherwise, I will not let you go!â the woman raged.
So it was about Amos.
Eudora sneered and said, âWhatâs wrong? You couldnât get Amos, so you came to vent your anger on me? Why didnât you try to keep Amos instead of scolding me now?â
âIâ¦â The woman was furious. âItâs all because you charmed him! You are so shameless to seduce him!â
âI seduced him? Yes, whatâs wrong with that? He just likes me to seduce him. If you have the ability, why donât you seduce him then? But Iâm afraid that itâs useless even if you seduce him. Otherwise, would we still be together?â
Eudora was not a person to be trifled with. After hearing what she said, the woman was so furious that her whole body was shaking.
âYouâ¦â The woman was at a loss for words, so she opted to slap Eudora again.
Before she could, Eudora slapped her in the face! The slap was cathartic. She had been in a bad mood for the past few days.
The woman wanted to fight back, but the next second, her expression suddenly changed.
âAmosâ¦â the woman stuttered.
Eudora frowned. When she looked back, she saw that Amos had returned.
Thinking of what she had just said, Eudora blushed! She didnât know if he heard it.
The woman tried to jump into Amosâ arms, but he leaned to the side and dodged it. The woman threw herself into the air and landed against the wall, she fought to regain her footing.
Eudora almost laughed.
âAmos!â the woman called out again.
This time, Amos frowned. âSamantha, according to the rules, you should call me second brother. Donât let me hear you call me by my name from now on.â
Eudora thought, âSecond brother? Amos has a younger sister?â
âI donât want to be your sister. Besides, Iâm not the biological daughter of my parents,â Samantha said.
âStop talking!â Amos scolded impatiently. Then he turned to Eudora and asked, âAre you okay?â
When he saw the handprint on Eudoraâs face, his face became gloomy.
âDid you hit her?â Amos asked.
Samantha was scared. She had always relied on the favor of the Granger family. She knew that Amos would not do anything to her, so she decided to continue her antics.
âSo what? Sheâs a shameless mistress. She deserves to be beaten!â Samantha said.
Amos looked more angry. âApologize!â
âI wonât apologize!â Samantha looked offended. âAmos, youâve changed. You werenât like this before!â
Samantha had fallen in love with Amos at first sight when she returned to the Granger family a few years ago, and her adopted parents had tacitly approved. She thought that she was special to him.
Amosâ eyes were cold. âHow was I before?â
âYou used to like me, of course. Otherwise, why didnât you do anything to me when you dealt with those two audacious women?â Samantha said.
So this was it.
Amosâ angry voice lowered to a growl. âI didnât deal with you because you are the adopted daughter of my second uncle, a member of the Granger family. But now it seems that I was too kind to you.â
Saying that, he reached out and stroked Eudoraâs cheek.
âWhich hand did you hit her with?â Amos asked.
Eudora suddenly thought of what Kesha George said to her before, about the man who had his leg broken because he accidentally kicked Cola. Her heart skipped a beat. âI already hit her just now.â
âYou donât need to plead for me!â Samantha didnât appreciate it at all. She was still very rampant.
Eudora didnât say anything. She had seen too many people like this. Samantha had to suffer to learn a lesson.
Amos narrowed his eyes. âWhich hand?â
Samantha raised her hand. âThis one. Why?â
âCharlie!â Amos called.
A man suddenly appeared like a gust of wind.
He was fast! Eudora was amazed, she didnât know that Amos was accompanied by bodyguards.
âDo it!â Amos ordered.
Samantha glared at Eudora. âAmos, do you really want to do this to me for this woman?â
âYou asked for it!â Amos said.
âGreat! You donât have to do it. Iâll do it myself!â Samantha raised her hand and gave herself a hard slap. âIs that all right?â
Amos didnât say a word, Samantha slapped herself a dozen more times. After all, she was a girl and cried in the end.
Eudora said, âAmos, letâs go home? Iâm tired!â
The words âgo homeâ sounded pleasant. Amosâs temper subsided. âOkay!â
After turning around and opening the door, the two of them left without looking back. Charlie Feld disappeared into the night as quickly as he came.
As they drove away, Eudora said in a low voice, âYou shouldnât treat Samantha like that for me.â
âYou pity her?â Amos asked.
In fact, this was not a decision made in the spur of the moment. Samantha had brought him troubles many times, and he would have taught her a lesson sooner or later.
âOf course not. Itâs just that weâll separate sooner or later. Theyâre your familyâ¦â
Hearing this, Amos frowned. âWill we separate? Didnât you feel good when you said that you succeeded in seducing me?â
Eudora blushed. As expected, he had heard it.
âWell⦠I said that because of the situation at that time,â Eudora explained.
âOh!â Amos nodded. âBut I was indeed seduced by you. What should I do now?â
