She lowered her head and kissed the back of his hand. Then, Eudora George spoke with a smile.
âI will do whatever I can to protect myself now that I have you and Juju by my side. Besides, didnât we agree that we would go through thick and thin together? Look at me. Iâm fine, am I not? At most, I will ask someone to keep me company next time.â
Looking at her clear and bright eyes, Amos finally calmed down a little.
He then let out a sigh of relief and said, âIâll accompany you next time.â
âOkay!â Eudora said with a smile.
At this moment, she saw a box in the back seat, âWhatâs that?â
Amos then relaxed a little, âOh, itâs the gun that the Old Master had given to Juju. I took it and asked someone to modify it. Now, it is a toy gun, and the beads in it have been replaced with soft water bullets.â
Eudora reached out and examined the gun. As Amos had said, it was modified. Nevertheless, they still retained the original shape of the gun. Even the soft water bullets that they were going to let Juju play with was made to look like the real one.
It was rather amazing!
Eudora frowned, âYou are going to spoil Juju.â
Amos Granger didnât seem too concerned, âSheâs my daughter. So what if I spoil her?â
Eudora was speechless.
When they arrived home and gave Juju the gun, she was thrilled. She took it out of the box and play with it excitedly. Eudora was afraid that Juju would get into trouble, so she followed Juju out hurriedly.
As soon as she got to the garden, she saw Juju standing with Vincent Granger. Juju seemed to be angry, and Vincent was crying yet again.
Eudora was worried that Juju might have used the gun to hit him, so she ran over hurriedly and grabbed Jujuâs hand.
âWhatâs going on?â
Juju didnât say a word. However, Vincent was still crying hard.
Eudora looked around and did not see any servants, so she asked Juju again, âTell me, what happened?â
Juju remained silent, so Eudora tried to coax Vincent.
âHey, Vincent. Donât cry. Tell me, what happened?â
Vincent pushed her away and said, âYouâre a bad person. Donât touch me.â
Eudora was stunned. Although she hated Tiffany Leon very much, she believed that her child was innocent. Therefore, she had always been friendly to Vincent.
However, she did not expect the child to treat her like that.
When Juju saw that Vincent was talking so rudely to her mother, she immediately threw the toy gun aside and rushed over. Fortunately, Eudora caught her in time. As she was making a fuss, Bethanyâs voice rang, âVincent, where are you?â
Vincent immediately turned around and ran away.
âGrandma! Grandmaâ¦â
Bethany Hamilton was stunned, âWhat happened? Why is he crying?â
âJuju hit me with that gun!â Vincent opened his palm and a water bullet was in it.
Bethany took a deep breath and picked the water bullet up from his palm. After looking at it for a while, she spoke.
âThis was probably a misunderstanding, right?â
âGrandma! Juju really did hit me! Not only did she hit me, but she also insulted me for not having a father!â
Bethany was stunned by Vincentâs words.
Eudora knew how Bethany had always felt about Hank Granger. Therefore, at this moment, Bethanyâs eyes were red.
Juju immediately retorted, âI didnât say that.â
Eudora frowned, âThis may be a misunderstandingâ¦â
She was not defending Juju, because Juju also grew up without a father. Therefore, it was unlikely that she would say something like that.
However, she couldnât say that out loud, because if she did, it would prove that Vincent was lying.
At this moment, Kaylene Yoder walked out from behind them.
âEudora, Iâm not trying to lecture you, but you and your daughter have gone too far this time. Even though you are happy with Juju and Amos now, you shouldnât say such words to hurt Bethany, right? Juju is still young, but youâre her mother. Shouldnât you be more sensible?â
Kaylene had always been one to stir trouble, so Eudora refused to pay attention to her. She told Bethany, âThis matterâ¦â
âForget it!â Bethany said, âThe kids were just squabbling. Letâs not ruin our friendship over such a trivial matter. Eudora, take Juju back with you. Vincent, letâs go! Weâre leaving too!â
Vincent was obviously still indignant, but he did not say anything else.
Kaylene hurried to catch up with Bethany, âBethany, are you just going to let this slide? Hankâ¦â
âThatâs enough!â Bethany said, âIâve already said that the children were just squabbling. Why are you so adamant about creating trouble? Have you got nothing to do lately?â
Kaylene then left in a bad mood. Bethany looked at her and then slowly brought Vincent back to the room.
She took out some medicine and gently swabbed it on Vincentâs bruise. Then Bethany said, âDid Juju really say that?â
Vincentâs expression froze, and he immediately replied, âYes! Grandma.â
âOkay!â Bethany answered. Then, she slowly lifted Vincentâs clothes and applied the ointment on his bruise.
When she was done, she then said, âYou may go back and read your book now.â
Vincent stared at her blankly for a while before nodding, âGrandma, Iâll leave now.â
After Vincent left, Bethany put away the medicine and stood up to look out of the window. She did not come back to her senses for a long time.
â¦
Kaylene told Harry everything as soon as she got back to her house.
âVincent is a good boy. He did as we said, but Bethany still doesnât believe him. Didnât you say that she would be moved once she has a successor? It seems that Iâm being put in a spot now!â
Harry Granger gritted his teeth, âWas she not convinced at all?â
âNo! Sheâs still the same as she used to be. Iâm really surprised. How could Bethany have such a good temper? Itâs fine if she doesnât care about me. However, her beloved grandson had just gotten bullied, and yet she just let it go so easily.â
Harryâs face gradually became gloomy, âForget it, what do we need her for? Anyway, Steven is back, and we donât need to rely on her anymore.â
He then looked around the living room, âWhy isnât Steven back yet?â
As they were talking, Steven Granger stepped into the house with a smile on his face.
âWhatâs the matter? Do you already miss me after not seeing me for the whole day?â
Kaylene got up hurriedly and said, âSteven, what are you busy with? Why did you come back so late?â
âMe?â Steven went straight to the couch and sat down. He pulled a grape and threw it into his mouth, âI went to the construction site. Didnât I tell you that Iâve hired a designer?â
Kaylene frowned and said, âWhy are you so concerned about the project? Didnât we agree that the project was just a cover-up so that your uncle wouldnât get so suspicious of us? Just leave it to Valiant East. Why do you care so much about it? You look so tired.â
âMom, youâre wrong. Yes, we did agree that it was just a cover-up. However, Uncle would get worried if we donât do it properly. Which part of this do you not understand?â
Kaylene was stunned, âWhat do you mean?â
