Amos Granger was obviously very impatient as he entered the study.
âIf itâs about Eudora, then we have nothing to say.â
The Old Master frowned. âAre you that obsessed with her?â
âYes! Because unlike you, I donât abandon people!â
âAmos Granger!â Old Master Granger was very extremely furious. He started coughing violently.
Amos frowned and looked at the old man. Because of his violent coughs, the caretaker quickly attended to him. âOld Master, please take your medicine.â
While feeding the Old Master the medicine, the caretaker said again, âYoung Master, please donât provoke the Old Master, heâ¦â
âQuiet.â The old man immediately interrupted the caretaker. âLeave.â
The caretaker had no choice but to turn around and leave as she was told.
When she left, the Old Master waved to Amos and said, âCome here.â
Amos frowned and looked at the old manâs cheeks, which had become red because of his violent coughing. Finally, he took a step forward.
What was laid in front of the old man was some information about his childhood, as well as some toys which he had played with before. They were all left in the house when he left the United States. He thought that he would not see them again, but he didnât expect that they were still there.
Old Master Granger took out one of Amosâ photos. Looking at the photo, the old man smiled.
âYouâre right. I didnât fulfill my duty as a father. So, after our conversation the last time, I sent someone to the United States. They brought all these back!â
He flipped through the pages one by one, and his old face beamed with joy.
âYouâre exactly the same as your big brother when he was a child. Even your character is exactly the same!â
Amos looked at his movements and couldnât help but smile bitterly. âDonât you think itâs too late to do these things now?â
The old manâs fingers paused. âMaybe, but if I donât do it, it will always be too late. Now isnât too late yet, donât you think?â
Amos frowned and suddenly realized that there was something amiss with the old man.
âIs your health..â
âItâs just a small matter!â The old man smiled. âDonât be scared by what the caretaker had said.â
After that, he put down the photo and sighed.
âI donât object to the fact that you have a woman around you, but a woman is just a woman. It does not bode well for you to care too much about that Eudora George.â
Amos frowned at his words. The old man saw it and heaved a sigh again.
âForget it, letâs not talk about it. You would argue with me whenever we talked about her. I donât want to die of anger on my birthday. Your temper is the same as your big brotherâs. You will never listen to what I say. Go and think about it yourself.â
After that, he stood up. âLetâs go!â
The gifts prepared by the second wifeâs family were luxurious. They had purchased a magnificent bottle of Isabellaâs Islay for the Old Master.
Steven Granger carried the bottle of whiskey upstairs. Stevenâs mother tried their best to draw the crowdâs attention to it. It was obvious that she was trying to show off her sonâs efforts.
But the old manâs lack of interest in their gift sadly proved their efforts were in vain.
Harry Granger was resentful and he turned to look at Amos.
âAmos, what gift did you bring for my brother?â
Because of their rocky relationship, Amos had never prepared anything in the past. Harry had asked this deliberately so that the crowd could see the difference between them.
The old man, knowing Amos, also did not expect him to bring him anything, so he immediately changed the topic.
âItâs good enough that heâs here. Iâm already an old man. What have I never seen before?â
Harry said hurriedly, âBrother, you shouldnât say that. After all, Amos is the President of Valiant East. Sometimes gift-giving isnât about whether you want or need it. More importantly, it reflects the status of Valiant East.â
Harryâs exaggerated little speech instantly made it into a serious matter, even concerning the glory of the group.
It would be embarrassing if Amos couldnât take anything out.
The old man looked at Amos worriedly, and he too felt a little resentful towards Harry in his heart.
He was wondering if he should say something to ease the atmosphere.
Unexpectedly, Amos took an elegant box and handed it over. âA gift.â After a pause, he explained.
âEudora chose it.â
The old man was stunned for a moment, and then he took it happily. Even his gaze towards Eudora became gentle. This was the first time in his life that he had received a gift from Amos.
He couldnât care about anything else and hurriedly opened it. It was a limited edition Rolex. Regardless of its price, the idea that Amos had gifted this himself made the old man so happy that he could almost prance around gleefully.
âGood, good!â He instructed the caretaker to put it on for him on the spot.
After taking care of him for such a long time, it was the first time that she had seen the old man so happy. When she heard the instructions, she hurriedly helped him put it on.
The second family failed to win the old manâs favor, and they were unsuccessful in their effort to demean Amos. They could do nothing but scowl in spite.
All of a sudden, a servant came over and said, âOld Master, there is a Miss Liam who wants to visit you.â
The old man was stunned and subconsciously thought of Wendy Liam. Although he had never paid attention to this matter, he knew of Wendyâs existence. He did not expect that she would come to him, especially on this day.
He subconsciously waved his hand and said, âI donât want to see her.â
Harry, who was next to him, suddenly asked, âIsnât Miss Liam Amosâ lifesaver?â
Amos glanced at him. It seemed that the second family was still very concerned about this matter/
Eudora was also stunned. She didnât expect to see Wendy here. Seeing this, Amos calmly held her hand.
Harryâs voice was not loud, but it was loud enough to be heard by the guests present. The old man was strict and attached great importance to reputation, so it was not appropriate to reject her immediately.
âSend her in!â
Soon, the butler brought Wendy in. She wore a white dress, with long hair over her shoulders, and her face looked pure and innocent.
After coming in, she first generously congratulated the Old Master, and then presented him a gift. âI took the liberty to come here. This is the gift I prepared for you.â
The Old Master glanced at the housekeeper with disinterestedly, and the housekeeper accepted it out of courtesy.
Then, he said calmly, âPlease sit down, everyone. The banquet is about to begin.â
The Old Master didnât say where to let Wendy sit. She came all of a sudden, hence a seat was not arranged for her prior.
Harry rolled his eyes and looked at his wife. Kaylene Yoder immediately understood and reached out to grab Wendy. âMiss Liam, right? Thank you for saving our Amos back then. Our family only became what it is today because of you. Come, come sit with me!â
Old Master Granger was displeased, but he couldnât say anything.
Because of their behavior, the guests had already begun to chatter amongst themselves. âThe Granger family is indeed the top leader of Rosaville City. Look at their attitude towards their savior, itâs really respectable.â
âThatâs right. Donât you know who President Granger is? Itâs a big deal for this lady to have saved him. The Granger family should treat this savior well!â
No matter how angry the Granger family members were, they could not lose their temper under such public circumstances.
Old Master Granger frowned slightly. He didnât know what Wendy was intending to do, having come to their house so abruptly.
