Felix Meyer tapped his feet as he waited impatiently downstairs. He saw his wife coming out in a hurry.
He quickly opened the door. âHow did it go?â
Eudora George threw the stack of documents into his hands. âFelix, I canât do it. Go and find someone else!â
Felixâs face darkened. âEudora, are you f*cking joking with me? You were up there for so long and now youâre telling me that you canât do it? Didnât you already memorise what to discuss about? Canât you do one simple thing right?â
âOh⦠Did you think itâs as simple as just negotiating for a contract? Then why donât you go to do it yourself?â Eudora retorted.
Felix glared at Eudora. âSo what? Itâs not the first time you slept with someone anyway. Are you tossing my interests aside after you had your own fun?â
âFelix!â Eudora shouted harshly. âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â
âNonsense? How dare you! Letâs see how long youâre able to continue pretending to be noble when in actual fact youâre such a shameless woman!â He began tearing Eudoraâs clothes apart on the street.
Eudora struggled with all her might. Her defiance and rebellion drove Felix out of his mind.
Pa!
Eudora gave Felix a hard slap. âFelix, you are an animal!â
The slap was so hard that blood started dripping from the corner of his mouth. Felix licked the blood away with his tongue and sneered.
âAre you giving up on your family?â
The George familyâ¦
She promised her late mother that she would protect Everpeace Group with all her life. But if her mother were still here, would she have wanted her daughter to betray herself for the sake of the George family? She had already made a mistake once by marrying into the Meyer family, must she make another mistake again?
Felix smirked in content when Eudora lowered her head and did not say anything. He knew that her family was her weakness. He knew that threatening her with the George family would keep her obediently by his side.
But little did he know, she started chuckling eerily. âItâs up to you what you want to do! Letâs get a divorce!â
âWhat?â Felix was flabbergasted. âAre you out of your mind?â
âWhatever! It doesnât matter if you think that Iâm out of my mind or what! Iâm done with the George family! I donât care anymore. Letâs get a divorce!â
After that, she turned around and prepared to leave.
âDonât even think about it!â Felix screamed Felix grabbed her once again. âEven if you donât care about your family anymore, I wonât get a divorce with you. You will still be my wife even after you are dead.â
âLet go of me!â Eudora slapped Felixâs hand away forcefully. âI wonât go back with you.â
But Felixâs strength proved to be too much for her. He pulled Eudora and shoved her into the car before driving away.
â¦
Upon reaching the Meyersâ residence, Felix dragged Eudora out of the car and threw her into their bedroom. He then locked the room from outside.
Laura Westin looked at her son in disgust. âI told you this woman is nothing but bad luck. She was already kicked out earlier, but you still want to keep her.â
âItâs none of your business. Keep the room key and donât let her come out.â
Laura smiled at her sonâs comment. âMy child, you finally understood what I was trying to say all these while. If it were up to me, I would just let her rot to death inside!â
Felix sneered. âIâm going to make her suffer alright. But to let her die this way? Thatâs too easy for her!â
Eudora banged the door from the other side, âLet me out Felix!. You canât lock me inside!  Youâre violating human rights and itâs a crime to do so!â
Laura scoffed, âYou are the daughter-in-law of the Meyer family, what rights are you talking about? Even if the king comes knocking on our door, we are not afraid!â
Laura used to live in the remote mountain villages and if it werenât for her successful son Felix, she would still be living in dirt. Despite her humble beginnings, she seemed to have forgotten where she came from and started treating others in condescension. Eudora cried her lungs out for help but no one came to her aid.
