Jeanelle was looking at him with worry and anticipation. It bothered him to see her stressed. All he wanted to do was to offer to comfort her. But how could he. His principles said it was forbidden to come onto a girl too strongly without giving her a chance of courtship. But he only saw one way as his way. All he knew was that he wanted her to walk outside this building as his girl. All he wanted was to just protect her and show her his ... affection. He didn't know where his feelings were coming from. All his years he had been taught resistance to his desires and temptations. All his years had taught him to wait and save his first kiss and first hug for someone special who he wanted to make his when he graduated from college. He didn't want any relationship now. He had told himself he wanted to resist the urge to date any girl but this mesmerising creation of the lord standing in front of him made him put it all out of the window. There she was. The girl he wanted. The only girl he wanted. As he was silently staring into her eyes it gave him a feeling that he could only describe as peace. He couldn't feel anything but peace and satisfaction. He tried to resist it. It was impossible. He took a deep breath while staring.
It made her feel uncomfortable as she was waiting for her fate. She looked away and whispered "If no one is going to hit me then what are you going to do to me? It said physical punishment in the hand book if anyone questions you..."
He didn't like it that she was looking away and he didn't appreciate it that she was still shaking. Tremors were going through her. He said "Take a seat. Why are you shaking?" He then with his leg effortlessly slid a chair from the side and as the chair hit the back of her legs, she automatically sat down looking at him while gasping. He was too quick for her.
Leandro stood towering over her as she was seated "Well... I asked you a question. Why are you shaking?"
She opened her mouth and couldn't say anything. All she could hear was her heart beat. She wished he wasn't so handsome. He was about to hurt her. She knew that.
Leandro said "I am not in the habit of repeating myself."
Jeanelle looked away searching her mind and trying so hard to talk. She breathed "I am sorry..."
Leandro said "I will get the nurse from the medical room. Let me call her..."
Jeanelle looked up "I don't need a nurse..."
Leandro said "Then stop shaking... Why are you shaking?" He then narrowed his eyes leaning closer "Answer me... Are you ill?"
Jeanelle closed her eyes wanting him to stop questioning her so she answered truthfully "I am abit cold maybe. I am from the south... not used to the cold and .... I am scared ... of you..." How could he not see it?
Leandro said "You really have no idea. Do you? Why are you scared of me?" He didn't like that at all.
Jeanelle was confused. Wasn't he going to punish her? She opened her eyes and spoke "Aren't you going to issue a punishment?"
He stated "No. it's your first offence. I decide to let it go ... but I need to ask you some questions... " He then thought to himself " As if I could ever hurt you? Dating you is all I want..."
Jeanelle let out a breath as she heard that. She felt relief.
Leandro liked that she looked to be trembling less. He took a step away and looked at her and then started pacing the floor while glancing at her "I am going to ask you a few questions. I need you to answer them truthfully... It's very important that you do..."
As if she could lie to him? He was the student dean. She didn't want to get into trouble. She didn't want to cause her family trouble. She knew this school had power and she was mortified at ever getting into trouble here. She nodded "I don't want trouble. I won't lie..."
Leandro said "Alright. Why didn't I see you today at enrolment?"
Jeanelle looked down "I ... I arrived late... my plane was delayed... I have been here for only a few hours at this campus.."
Leandro said "Alright... That's clear..." He then cleared his throat "Next ... Tell me.. Do you have relatives in the government that we don't know of?" He didn't mind this. It wasn't like his father couldn't crush the government agents. He could. He was fully capable... Leandro wanted to know if he needed to protect her family if they ever crossed his father by accident.
Jeanelle shook her head "No."
Leandro nodded "Perfect ..." He then said "Now... next question... What's your religion? That's very important. Answer me without lying..."
Jean raised an eyebrow "My religion?" She didn't expect it to matter. He didn't think religion mattered to a dean that just issues punishments and beat people up as a hobby in his boxing and wrestling team or so they said.
Leandro nodded "Yes. Just be honest." It could make a difference what religion she was following. He wanted to introduce her to his father... Well if she was not a catholic he had to try to convert her... He couldn't marry her unless she was a catholic. He was going to have a church wedding. Again he felt strange. Why was he thinking all this? He didn't want to. It was hard not to. He had planned all his life to abstain from a relationship until he found a girl he wanted. He just only saw Jean as his and no one else. The thought of ignoring her was not going to work. How could he ignore this fragile pale petite girl that he only wanted to embrace and keep warm. Now her tremors were almost gone though. But still all he wanted was to hug her. He never thought he was going to care for s girl in that manner. He didn't show mercy to any girl. He was softer on them than on the boys but that was because of the differences between girls and boys. He gave girls no special treatment but this girl was going to get every special treatment that was ever forbidden in the book. He was willing to bend the rules, change the rules, rip up the rules if he had to, in order to get her.
Jean wasn't comfortable with the question. She didn't know where he was going with this.
Leandro was getting impatient "Tell me." Leandro stopped walking "Are you an atheist..." He thought of the worst case scenario. There was no way his father was going to let her walk into the house if she was. His father would have demanded her to convert before mixing with the family.
She said "I was born a catholic. I stated this on my application form. The form asked me so many questions about my religion actually. So all is on my file... I got curious why they need to know so much. I go to church and I stated I do... but I like know why they needed to know. This is not a church run school..." She was then shocked to see him smile. He seemed happy for some reason. She didn't know why it mattered.
That meant that they were going to go to the same church since she lived on campus as a transfer student staying here for the year away from home. He then kept smiling at the the thought of seeing her in the church every day.
He wanted to praise the lord on his knees but he was going to save that for the morning mass tomorrow. He said "I am surprised you haven't noticed why you filled all those questions... You must have noticed what kind of college this is. Haven't you seen the church we have? We have morning mass every day here. Everyone must attend and lack of attendance means demerits and consequences that student body deal with. This is not a faith school but since my father owns the place there is church embedded within the ethos. My father appoints governors and he writes the rules. Now the rules say that I will go get the librarian to come relieve you." He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a badge "Put this on. You are in the house of alpha. That means I only deal with you and no one else... My annoying brother is also in the same house. That's why I have to go deal with him. That would mean I would be abit late. Wait for me. I will take you to initiation."
Jeanelle was so overwhelmed. She felt cold. What had just happened? She watched him leave. What she didn't know was that his hands that were balled into fists were because of her. His brother was going to feel his wrath for insulting her.
As Leandro left her to her thoughts he walked out of the building and made his way to the football field. He ran towards his brother and tackled him to the ground.
Leo was now laying on the floor unmoving while he was breathless looking up into the predator like eyes of his brother that wanted his blood. "It's pay back time..."
Leo spoke breathlessly "What ... more do you... want from me? 40 lapse... I will run it...."
Leandro shook his head "You are lucky you can even walk... Don't insult my girl again..."
Leo based on instinct remained unmoving as he was laying down. If he stayed down his brother wasn't going to attack. He wasn't in a state to attack as he had been running lapse as fast as he could. His brothers punishment lapse had time limit on them. His body hurt already. He couldn't take a beating. Then their mother was going to get cross which meant that their father was going to kill Leandro for it... He didn't want to be protected. He didn't need protection from anyone ... except for his brother but it didn't mean he wanted it... He said in a defeated tone "I was only joking. I am sorry. You don't even have a girl..."
Leandro stood over him "You are lucky... Too lucky..." He turned to Alfonso "See to it that he gets cleaned up and then bring him to the initiations. He can make himself useful there..."
Leo protested as he stood up slowly "I want to go to the youth club of yours. I want to see my girl..."
Leandro turned to him "Did you just refuse me?"
Leo put his hands up "No. I just thought I .. remind you..." He had to pick his battles.
Leandro said "Next time, don't." He then walked away shaking his head... As he walked past the library to find the librarian, he froze. He saw through the window that Jean was taking to a guy... A guy he hadn't seen before actually. He burned with jealousy. Did she have a boyfriend? They seemed to be laughing and joking. Who was this boy who made her laugh? He hadn't made her laugh yet. He was burning hot now. He was thinking of how many ways he wanted to torture him to make it as painful.
To his satisfaction he watched him come outside. He waited for him as he stood behind a tree.
Just then Leandro heard her voice "Jacob ..."
Leandro looked past him and saw her come out of the building. The boy quickly turned and walked to her "Yes flowerpot..."
She hadn't noticed Leandro as he was well hidden.
She said "You forgot your football shirt in my dorm earlier. Do you want the key to go get it?"
The boy chuckled "I will get it tomorrow. I have the initiation to attend now. I have to get there early to save you a seat. I hope the librarian doesn't take long to come and relieve you from your shift ." He then walked away as Leandro noticed how Jean watched him walk away.
Leandro was thinking of torturing him at the initiation until he begged for mercy. Jean only belonged to him. No other boy was allowed to leave their shirt in her dorm but him. He clutched his shirt as his heart warmed up at the thought.
