Chapter 23: 22. Boys

Leandro Rosario (Book 5: A Mob Boss's son)Words: 13676

Jean was looking up at the scary looking book in military uniform. He was looking down at her with the most unfriendly expression she had ever faced. She was just frozen in her spot unable to run and she was sure a boy that looked so fit could catch her easily. She was shaking under his stare as he was almost taunting her with his silence. Her heart was racing with every step he was standing there with his deadly looking glare aimed right at her her. She could now understand what it mean when the other girls gave her descriptions of Leandro. This boy in front of her was like Leandro. He took his time looking at her and then said "Repeat what you just said to me..."

He took a step towards her closing the little distance she had created between then by stepping back. She was pushing herself against the wall. His ruthless looking eyes that made her feel cold were on her face and then travelled down. She started shaking as his hand reached towards her. She closed her eyes and then heard his voice "Unique necklace... Is this..."

She opened her eyes and saw the boy holding the quartz necklace that leandro had given her. He didnt look angry any more. He was just looking at the quartz looking like he was trying to solve a puzzle.

He looked up at Jean "This is Leandro's sign ... It marks his realm and marks his territory..." Seriously?"  He was the one now taking a step backwards "How? You are his girl? You are Leandro's girl? No way....... That makes you... Jacob's sister..."

"Yes. She is..." Jacob's voice came from the opening of the corridor that accompanied his heavy footsteps.

Before Arcangelo could reply, Jacob was standing between him and his sister "What have you done to my sister?"

Jean was horrified. She didnt want to see her brother fight. Even though she was still shaken up, Jean stepped forward and took his brother's hand "He did nothing.... I swear. Please dont attack him."

Jacob turned to Jean "Are you sure flower pot? It didnt seem like nothing... You looked terrified..."

Jean said "I am fine."

Arcangelo was silently observing the exchange with a passive expression. He had heard so much about Jacob and Jean from Leandro. The siblings looked nothing alike. Not in his view any way. The girl looked so fragile and pale. But her brother was like a soldier without a uniform both physically and mentally. He sure as hell fought like a soldier or rather killer. Fighters in the rink fought to win for the glory... Street fighters fought to kill to service and live another day. This kid was a mixture of both.

Jacob smiled "Flower pot. Why dont you go back to the stands... I would like to have a talk with Arcade here..."

Arcangelo corrected "Its Arcangelo..."

Jacob turned to him "I dont care. Makes no difference Arcade..." He then turned to Jean "Flowerpot please go..."

Jean was feeling quite overwhelmed with meeting Arcangelo. He looked like a kid but something inside her told her to stay away. His eyes just radiated danger. She knew if Jacob wanted to talk to this guy he would have done it either way at some point. She couldn't avoid that... Jacob also liked to deal with the likes of Arcangelo alone. He didnt like company or help... So she nodded silently and walked fast out of the way.

Jacob looked at the opening of the corridor and made sure Jean was out of there before he turned to the boy in front of him who was bigger and taller than him "Listen Arcade..."

Arcangelo said "Thats not my name..."

Jacob said "Whatever your name is... I did not like the way my sister was looking like she was about to pass out when she was standing there in front of you... I wasn't here earlier and I trust Jean was telling the truth when she said you did nothing to her... Then how come she looked so scared. What did you say to her?"

Arcangelo said "She was the one who disrespected me... I just asked her nicely to repeat what she said because I dont think I heard her right.... No one speaks to me the way she spoke to me.."

Jacob balled his hands into fists "No one speaks about my sister that way... She can speak to you how she wants... She is never rude to anyone unless they deserve it... I am not surprised. From what I hear you are a cocky captain with an ego with a size that all of whats in Grand Canyon wont be able to match it..."

Arcangelo stated simply "I dont tolerate disrespect from anyone... Not even you..."

Jacob said "Oh. Really? What are you going to do about it, cocky Arcade... I challenge you because you scared my sister... No one should get away with that... I like to teach you a lesson so you have manners when you talk to the ladies..." He then took a fighting stance. He wasn't into fighting but he didnt like how unapologetic he was. His sister was the most respectful girl anyone could ever meet. Arcade much have deserved anything she had said to him.

Jacob waited for Arcangelo to also take a fighting stance but he just stood there waiting. Jacob said "Get ready... Now..."

Arcangelo said "I am ready..."

Jacob threw a punch his way but he docked and appeared behind Jacob as he was watching Jacob. He didnt understand why he didnt fight back... Jacob threw. punch again but he quickly moved. Jacob almost tripped and hit the wall but he held himself and turned.

Arcangelo said "Wall hits the wall... Stay there. I dont want to fight..."

Jacob asked "You should." He then walked towards him and tried to tackle him to the floor and Arcangelo jumped away and docked as Jacob ended up on the ground.

Arcangelo kept watching him "You are wasting your talent in here kid. You definitely are... You fight to die... Your place is at military school... We have trials every week where captains gets to choose wildcards. Consider yourself selected already.... Drop by this weekend... I like to add you to my team... You will be rising through the ranks at the speed of light..."

Jacob stood up "No thanks... I have one question for you... Have you met humans before? Because it sure as hell doesnt seem like you have... You scared the daylights out of my sister and you expect me to join a military school when you are the captain..."

Arcangelo said "Watch how you speak to me... I dont like your attitude... I guess you will be thrown in solitary confinement alot for your sharp tongue... But you have spirit. I give you that..."

"Arcangelo..." Leandro's voice came from the entrance. He walked right upto Arcangelo and grabbed his shirt "You met my girl I heard..."

Jean ran inside and was relieved to see his brother safe. His brother had a confused expression on his face as he was looking at Arcangelo and Leandro. She had no choice but to tell Leandro what had happened. He had noticed her looking nervous shaking while drinking water. She walked to Leandro "I am fine honestly... I don't want cause a fight..."

Jacob blocked her way "Flowerpot why don't you go back outside? Let us boys sort this out..."

Arcangelo put his hands up and said "Alright, I am sorry. I didnt know she was your girl..."

Leandro pulled him closer as he had grabbed him by the collar of his shirt "Right now I am trying to decide which part of you to smash up so my sister doesnt cry too much when she sees you next..."

Arcangelo asked sounding genuine "You think she would cry over me? For real? Then go for the face..."

Leandro took a step back and started taking off his football jacket as he was looking at Arcangelo with fury "It would be my pleasure then."

Jean wanted to go to Leandro but Jacob kept blocking her "Flower pot. Please leave... I don't want you to see them fight. You don't like fights..."

Jacob was glancing at the boys and at his sister while he was trying to convince her to go. He watched as Arcangelo and Leandro started circling each other. It looked quite bizzare how each of them were eying their opponent first and taking their time with it. He had fought this new guy and he was pretty quick.

Arcangelo said "How could I know she is your girl? You have to admit. Even after seeing your quartz Crystal that made me stop doing anything, I couldn't quite believe it. Her height comes to your chest."

Jacob cursed at him as he turned to Arcangelo. He didn't like him talking about his sister like that.

Leandro roared "What does that supposed to mean? Are you making fun of my girl." He then was about to charge at Arcangelo but then she found Jean in front of him "Please Stop. I don't want to see you fight with this horrible boy..."

Jacob shook his head and sighed in frustration "Flower pot. Don't interfere please..."

Arcangelo protested "I am not all bad. I apologise for upsetting you. If I knew who you were, I would not have dreamt of speaking to you like that. I am very sorry..."

Leandro looked past jean at Arcangelo and spoke with venom in his voice "Well. You won't be making this mistake again. I will make sure of it." He then looked down and jean and spoke softly to her "Could you please go back outside?"

Jean said "He apologised. It's fine." She then reluctantly turned around and said "I accept your apology." She was scared to death of him. She turned quickly to Leandro and walked slowly towards him "Please Leandro. Just leave it... He is sorry."

Leandro said "You are not sorry. You are never sorry. Drop the act."

Arcangelo rolled his eyes " An act? What act? This is no act Leandro. She belongs to you... Hell freezes over before I ever look at your girl the wrong way... I guess she does match you... She only comes to your chest but she seems to get along with Lavinia. My girl likes your girl as a friend. We are practically family. Your sister will be the mother of my children one day..."

Leandro's eyes lit up with rage. He said in a low tone of voice "Jacob. Please take Jean outside... Now..."

Jean could see he was so angry beyond belief so she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his chest and put her forehead on his rock hard chest "Please Leandro. For me. Stop...."

Arcangelo said "What? You don't like me stating a fact? I am marrying your sister one day. She will be carrying my children."

Leandro closed his eyes. Jean's touch calmed him down and he took a deep breath. He had to hold himself back. He opened his eyes and stroked Jean's hair "It's ok jean. I won't fight. If that's what you want."

She took a deep breath of relief.

Leandro looked up at Arcangelo "Show respect."

Arcangelo put his hand up and said "You don't ever hear me say anything disrespectful man. I am all respect."

Leandro seemed calmer and Jacob didn't want to risk the situation to suddenly get stormy. He decided to take the opportunity to avoid any unnecessary fights since now Arcangelo had apologised. That was enough for Jacob. He cleared his throat. "I will show Arcade the way out." He then walked to said "Let's go, now..." He then whispered "I don't want to see my sister seeing fights. Follow me or I will be your worst problem..." m

Arcangelo said "I don't have any doubt about that..."

Arcangelo turned to Leandro "See you around roomie." He then left as Leandro and jean were embracing.

Arcangelo followed Jacob away from the scene and as they left the corridor to enter another one towards the way out, Arcangelo took out a pen and paper. He started writing on it as he was walking behind Jacob "I like to give you the phone number to my office. The offer is there. Come by. Get some training and you get extra credits too. It's worthwhile joining us even if it's for a short course."

Jacob couldn't believe the nerve of this guy. He turned to him as he was walked "Arcade. I am not interested."

Arcangelo said "Imagine What you can do with those fighting skills. People will give anything to be able to fight like how you do... You fight so well..."

Jacob said "Well. Obviously not well enough to land a punch on you... You didn't fight..."

He said "Well. Defence is a good offence."

Jacob asked "Is it though?"

Arcangelo nodded "When it comes to you, Yes... Your defence moves are not like anything I have seen... I am not surprised you broke Alfonso's hand and I believe you when you say it was self defence..."

Jacob said "I still would have liked you to fight back."

Arcangelo surprised him as he wrapped his arm around his shoulder making Jacob feel awkward and confused as they were walking "I don't like to raise my hand on family unless they deserve it. I don't think you deserved it today. I shouldn't have upset Leandro's girl ...."

Jacob asked "What? We are not family... Stop that..."

Arcangelo said "We are family practically... You are Leandro's future brother in law. Same as me."

Jacob said "Arcade you are crazy... Why are you speaking with such certainty. No wonder Leandro wanted to attack you for mentioning his sister to be the mother of your kids... I can never be certain of what I am doing in the next hour. You can never say we could be family. You don't know that?"

Arcangelo said "I should ask you the same thing? Can you be certain it won't happen? You don't know that... Do you think that after high school, Leandro and I will just stay friends with our girl friends. I am pretty sure you can't be certain of that..."

As they reached outside of the building. Arcangelo offered the phone number to Jacob "Give me a call if you are coming by... There is a uniform and training handbook with your name on it."

Jacob said "I said I am not interested. Bye. I thought you said to Leo you have to get back to military school fast."

Arcangelo didn't move an inch and kept the paper with his phone number on it directed at Jacob.

Jacob saw this guy was not going to leave. He took the paper and sighed "Goodbye Arcade."

Arcangelo said "Looking forward to face "the wall" in my office... and I will fight back next time..."
