âStop screaming! Donât tell me you havenât accepted it otherwise I swear, Iâll rip your throat out,â Robin threatened, his eyes narrowed at me as he crossed his skinny arms over his small chest.
âOf course I havenât accepted it because itâs not true. Trust me, if I was pregnant Iâd know. Who told you that lie anyway?â I questioned, wiping away my drying tears.
âSomeone,â Robin answered, seeming confused.
âDonât look so puzzled, Iâm not pregnant okay. Can you jut take me home please because Iâm exhausted and tired,â I pleaded, feeling my eye lids drooping closed.
âSure,â Robin replied, grabbing his black puffy jacket, his silver Suzuki car keys, and house keys, then placed his âmanlyâ flip flops on before walking out of the door, his eyes scanning the streets.
âThanks Robin,â I thanked when we arrived in front of the apartment building.
âMake sure you text me when you get inside so that I know your safe and if you forget, Iâll be banging your door down at one in the morning Mel.â Robin assured with a serious face.
âYes daddy,â I mocked, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek and made my way into the apartment building. I couldnât help but feel as though I was being watched as I took the elevator to the third floor and opened the door to my apartment. Whipping out my phone, I texted Robin so that he wouldnât be worried and after stripping down, I hopped into the bath which I filled with hot water and settled my body into it before filling the clear water with bubbles.
My eyes drifted to my stomach and I gently caressed it wondering how it would actually feel to be pregnant. Would I want a child with Trevor anytime soon? Do I even want a baby? All these thoughts clouded my mind and I drifted into a beautiful dreamâ¦
â¦â¦â¦â¦.
âIâve always wanted you to have my baby, and now itâs really happening,â He whispered in my ear from behind, as he held me tightly against him making my body mould naturally into his as his cool hand softly stroked my bare bulging stomach. I had never expected to be this heavily pregnant in my life, with his baby. I had always dreamed about this moment but now that it was actually happening, I was slightly overwhelmed.
My eyes began to water as I came to realise that this was actually happening. We were going to be together forever and I was now carrying his baby in my stomach. I whimpered quietly hoping that I he wouldnât hear me but obviously he did.
âWhatâs wrong? Do you not want our baby anymore?â He panicked spinning me around to face him.
âNo, no! Itâs just, Iâ¦â I started. Feeling stupid for saying anything in the first place, I focused my gaze on the clean glass floor which allowed me to see the multicoloured flowers underneath it.
âItâs just what?â He questioned softly, lifting my chin with his finger, his dark eyes staring at with holding concern.
âItâs just, I never thought that this would ever happen,â I sighed, shrugging and looking down again. His chuckle startled me and I quickly looked up at him to see an adorable smile on his sexy, full lips.
âOf course this would happen, weâre soul mates so Iâd never be able to live without you,â He stated before pressed his lips firmly against mine. The gas in me was ignited when his lips touched mine and I absentmindedly wrapped my arms around his neck pulling me closer.
âRemember the baby,â He reminded me chuckling causing me to withdraw from him in horror. How could I have forgotten?
âIâm joking,â He laughed, pulling be back into him, as he moved our lips in sync, making my whole body tingle from his touch, just like it used to in college.
We were finally together. I and Stephen forever.
â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦
I woke up terrified and under the water. Pulling myself out, I gasped for air and looked around in shock. One, I had fallen asleep in a bubble bath which is very dangerous to do and two; I had a dream about me and Stephen having a baby. The kiss had felt too real and even when I touched my lips, the warmth of his lips against mine remained however there was no huge bulge on my stomach and I silently thanked God for that.
I had no idea why I had that dream and why it felt so real but I did know that I wasnât going to sleep tonight if that was going to happen again. Getting out of the bath, I moisturised myself, got dressed into some pyjamas and jumped into my warm, cosy bed. Ignoring the time which was now 12 in the morning, I let my eyes rest, ending up sleeping, luckily with no images of Stephen.
âWake up sweetie,â I heard a husky voice whisper softly in my ear.
âNoâ¦â I grumbled rolling over
âAnother five hours,â I mumbled only to be lifted into two strong, muscular, warm arms telling me that it wasnât Stephen. I really needed to stop thinking about him.
âHappy Birthday!â Loads of voices shouted closely, making me jump in fright in the personâs arms. Opening my eyes, I realised that I was in Trevorâs arms and almost the whole office and Jennifer and Jasmine were in my bedroom.
âAre you guys crazy?! What are you doing here?â I yelled. I probably looked a big mess and yet here they all were.
âOh shut up and be grateful. We donât care about how you look Melanie,â Jennifer scowled
âA bit harsh Jenni,â Trevor interrupted
âThe truth hurts honey,â Jessica stated
âUrg! Fine, let go of me.â I commanded. When my feet felt the ground, I stormed into the bathroom and took a shower getting ready for work. What time was it? Like 5 in the morning and everyone was all jolly and awake? Craziness I tell you!
âSee what youâve done Jennifer,â Danny, Jasmineâs boyfriend voiced. I only heard her mumble something before I switched the shower on and stepped inside. The last time I was ecstatic when I turned a year older was when I was with Stephen, but Iâd rather not reminisce on that.
When I got out of the bathroom, only Trevor was in my room, lying down sexily on my bed. His eyes immediately snapped towards me and he held my gaze as he got off my bed.
âAre you alright now?â Trevor asked, gently stroking the back of his hand on my cheek. Closing my eyes, trying to take in his touch, I opened my eyes and smiled.
âYep, now that itâs just us two,â I confessed, moving closer into him as he pulled me into an embrace, brushing my lips across his.
âDonât do this to me Mel, we canât do it right now, your friends are in the other room. Unless you think you can keep your voice down,â Trevor joked pressing his lips firmly against mine.
âShut up,â I smiled, pushing him away from me
âAnd get out because I need to get changed,â I informed him
âBut I wonât be seeing anything I havenât seen before, why cant I stay?â He whined
âGo!â I giggled, pushing him out of my bedroom door.
I changed into my work clothes and after saying a sorry to everyone, had breakfast made by Robin, who hadnât told Trevor what had happened thankfully and we all made our way to work.
âIâm going to be taking you out after work, so be ready to be surprised,â Trevor smirked as I began to exit the taxi.
âOkay?â I replied, kind of confused. How was my fiancé going to surprise me?
âI hope itâs a good surprise,â I stated
âDonât worry Mel, it is,â Trevor assured, giving me a final peck and then leaving me to watch his taxi drive away. I definitely had a great man on my hands. Work felt as though it was slowly going by, which made me even more anxious. What was Trevor going to surprise me with? It didnât help that everyone in the office was asking what we were going to do as well, since I looked pretty silly saying âItâs a surprise.â
âFinally! I was about to rip my hair out!â I commented, hugging Trevor when he finally appeared
âWow, someoneâs a bit excited!â Trevor sung, intertwining our hands and leading us into the taxi he arrived in.
âIâm not excited, Iâm anxious. So where are we going?â I rushed, squeezing his hand tightly
âAh! Stop Mel, your gonna crush my hand damn it and weâre going to the Bingo Bar,â Trevor cursed, pulling his hand away from mine. Rewinding in my mind, I immediately remembered the Bingo Bar, it was where I and Trevor first met.
âWhy are we going there?â I asked tenderly, smiling at him due to the fact that he remembered.
âIt was where we started and so since weâre going to be starting again, meaning marriage, I thought why donât we go there tonight,â Trevor shrugged, a shy smile on his lips making him look adorable. I knew there was more to it since he could have done this any day, yet he did it on my birthday but I left it alone since we were almost there. When we arrived, he took my hand again and led us straight to the front of the queue.
âHey man,â He said simply and with a nod, the bouncer moved to the side allowing us through. I had no clue how he knew him but I didnât question anything once again. Silent, I let him lead me towards the toilets, down a corridor and pull me into a door I had never seen before. His hand left mine as we entered the dark room and I began to panic.
âTrevor? Babe where are you?â I called, just as some dim lights came on above a small candle lit dinner.
âAww,â I said moving towards the table. There was some chocolate cheese cake on both of our plates. Trevor had probably guessed that I had already eaten and he was correct. He had really thought about this which I found cute. He helped me into my seat before taking his.
âWell to say happy birthday, I brought you a gift,â Trevor stated, pulling a box from underneath the table. It was almost as beautiful as the ring that the engagement ring was in, but not quite. It was a simple cream cardboard box with a white smooth bow. Inside laid a gorgeous silver necklace with the same diamond that was on my engagement ring.
âItâs stunning,â I grinned staring up at Trevor who was watching my every move.
âLook underneath it,â He suggested. Confused, I did as he said and found what looked like a birthday card with my name on the envelope. Taking it out carefully, I opened it only to see a folded piece of decorated white card, with a black ribbon going around the card. On the front was a picture of I and Trevor kissing. I remembered it from the photo shoot Jasmine has convinced us to go on. Glancing at Trevor who just nodded his head towards the card, I opened it and read the fancy writing.
âYour are benevolently invited to Melanie Zeleny and Trevor Smythe-Hewitt wedding on the 25th March 2012â
I didnât even bother reading the rest. He had already set a date and that date was three weeks away.
âYouâve set a date?â I whispered, looking at him
âYeah, I thought why not do it next month. I asked your parents for their permission and help and they were eager to join in. So what do you think? Too soon, because if it is we can always sit down about this and change the date and then call your----,â Trevor rambled on
âIâd like that,â I interrupted
âLike what?â Trevor asked nervously
âIâd like for us to have our wedding in three weeks.â I agreed
âYou would,â Trevor repeated, sounding shocked
âYes, it just means that Iâll be getting called Mrs. Smythe-Hewitt earlier and will finally be able to call you my hubby,â I commented watching a large smile spread across his lips.
âThatâs excellent,â He stated, kissing me gently across the table.
âNow letâs take you homeâ¦â Trevor started, standing up and holding out a hand.
âWhat do you mean? We havenât even eaten our cheesecakes yet,â I realised
âIt doesnât matter, I just wanted a romantic setting to give you my present and let you see the invitation. Do you like it by the way?â Trevor questioned
âYeah, their really gorgeous and I liked the black and white.â I answered, taking his hand.
âLet me just put the necklace on first,â Trevor remembered, taking the box out of my hand and delicately handling the necklace. Turning around, I felt his finger tips softly brush against my skin and felt the coolness of the necklace reminding me of someone else, who I pushed to the back of my mind. Turning back around, Trevor admired it and then looking into my eyes lovingly.
âDid I tell you that youâre the most beautiful women that Iâve ever met?â Trevor quizzed, pulling me to him by my waist.
âA couple times,â I smiled as he kissed me slowly and tenderly.
âWe can finish this at your house, so letâs go,â Trevor urged, pulling me with him as he raced out of the Bar, making me laugh.
We arrived at my house and I led Trevor to the door and fiddled with the key for a second.
âI really need to get the key hole greased or somet---,â I began when I heard
âSURPRISE!!!â Shocked I froze for a second taking in all of the people, the party decorations and the person that I thought Iâd never see again standing in the middle of it all, causing my face to fall.
Just when my day was at itâs greatestâ¦
