Chapter 2: Chapter Two

He Came Back To Make Me His.Words: 8798

“Are you okay?” Trevor’s husky voice asked from the bed, full of sleep. I hoped I hadn’t woken him.

“I’m fine,” I lied causing him to raise an eye brow as he propped himself up with his elbows, on the bed.

“I see you ordered us breakfast when you made our reservation,” I stated, changing the subject. Trevor though, simply continued to stare at me, as if he waiting for me to tell him the truth.

“I just saw someone I used to know,” I sighed, hoping that he’d drop it.

“If you don’t want to talk about it, just tell me and I’ll drop it Mrs Smythe- Hewitt,” Trevor smirked, knowing exactly what to say to make me smile.

“Let’s not talk about it,” I smiled strolling over and climbing on top of him, so that I was straddling him once again, which allowed me to get a perfect view of his handsome face.

“Okay…by the way, have I ever told you how sexy you look in my shirt?” Trevor wondered, pulling my face down to his level.

“Yes, many times,” I replied since he had. This seemed to make him laugh before his lips were pressed against mine and we made love once again.

I and Trevor were now ready to leave the hotel, having eaten breakfast and bathed in their incredibly large bathroom. There was definitely one thing that I had to do before I died and that was come here again. I did not have a chance to catch a glimpse of the rest of the hotel, due to the things that I and Trevor were up to in the room, so I knew that it was on my to-do list for the next time I came. Just thinking about it made me want yesterday to happen repeatedly. I was ENGAGED! I hadn’t expected, in my 23 years of living, that I’d have both the best job in the world and the best boyfriend, sorry, fiancé in the world at such a young. I couldn’t wait to tell my mother! Just as we were checking out of the hotel, I felt eyes seeming to pierce through my head, which caused me to turn around and meet pitch black eyes.

Stephen.

I groaned internally and turned my head back around to the middle aged man at the desk.

“I hope you enjoyed your stay at the Hilton Hotel. Please come again,” He smiled politely, waiting for us to leave. Taking that as our queue, Trevor wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me into his warm body and spun us around, only for us to come face to face with my worst nightmare.

“I guess the shirt I saw you wearing was this guy’s,” Stephen guessed, his eyes locked on mine.

“Do you know him?” Trevor questioned his voice almost as fierce and hard as Stephen’s. Almost.

“This ‘guy,’ is actually my fiancé,” I corrected him.

“Sorry, I don’t think I introduced myself. My name is Stephen, maybe she told you about me, maybe she didn’t,” Stephen introduced himself, holding out a hand for Trevor to shake, finally taking his eyes off me.

“Yeah, she didn’t but I’m sure there’s a reason for that. There was probably nothing worth telling,” Trevor retorted, shaking Stephen’s hand firmly. I knew that Trevor was strong, but I knew that Stephen was much stronger. I could see Trevor’s hand getting paler and paler, almost to the point that it was matching Stephen’s and I knew that something had to be done. Trevor however, was doing a great job containing his pain since you couldn’t see a trace of it on his face and I definitely had to give him credit for that but Stephen wasn’t helping since he had an irritating smirk on his lips.

“We can stop this now,” I growled annoyed by their childish behaviour. Trying to pull their hands apart was a nuisance since I was too weak, so I did the one thing that I knew how to do. Begged.

“Trevor please, stop it,” I pleaded, staring at Trevor who strangely didn’t even glance in my direction, so I begged the only other person that I could.

“Stephen please,” I begged tired of their rubbish. Stephen’s dark eyes darted into mine and I felt myself being pulled back into his world, which I used to revolve around.

“I’ll be the man in this situation and listen to the beautiful young lady in front of me, since I care about her feelings,” Stephen stated, instantly releasing Trevor’s hand, easily shrugging it off.

“Let's go.” I sighed dragging a stubborn Trevor away from him.

“I’ll see you around Melanie,” Stephen whispered in my ear, so close that I felt his soft lips brush against it, causing my body to shiver. Glaring at him due to his effect on me, I quickly scurried ahead of Trevor, deciding not to wait for him anymore.

“So who the hell was that?” Trevor roared, slamming the taxi door closed, receiving a disapproving look from the driver.

“Just turn the hell around and drive us to Bilshore apartments. Now answer the damn question,” Trevor hissed, talking through gritted teeth. I had never seen him this angry before and it was starting to make me wonder whether choosing to marry him was the right thing to do. His usual friendly and handsome face was a strawberry red and his teeth weren’t being used to smile attractively, but to grind against each other rather unattractively.

“Answer the question Mel. Please,” Trevor pressed, trying to calm himself down as the taxi man began to drive.

“College, we dated in college, that’s it.” I explained simply, playing with my fingers, the engagement ring in particular. Sighing, Trevor took my hand in his and tilted my chin up so that I was forced to look into his striking blue eyes.

“I’m sorry okay; he just kinda got on my bad side. So what happened? How come you missed him out when we were making fun of our ex’s?” He quizzed causing a small smile to appear on my lips at the memory.

“Because he hurt me a lot and I didn’t want to bring back the memory,” I shrugged, moving closer to him, so that I could rest against his body.

“I’m sorry,” Trevor apologised kindly after a moment of silence.

It was my first day of college and I was buzzing with excitement. I knew no one, since I decided to go solo, so I was pretty much alone and was missing everyone sincerely. I had just moved my belongings into my dorm but the other person staying with me hadn’t arrived yet and so instead of waiting for them, I decided to give myself a tour of the college.

Brooks College. One of the best in the world. And I was a student there. Wow…

“Oh shit, sorry. I didn’t see you there,” A silky, deep voice apologised. I hadn’t been paying attention to where I was going, since I was too busy looking at the painting of naked people to the right side of me and had barged into someone.

“No, it wasn’t your fault, I was too busy looking at that naked picture,” I rushed, mentally slapping myself when I looked up at who the voice belonged to and realised what I had said. He had the darkest eyes I had ever seen, black hair covering his forehead, was muscular, had full pink lips and was very pale. Weirdly, I’m sure that others wouldn’t find him attractive, but to me, he looked as attractive and perfect as any guy could be.

“You were too busy looking at that naked picture?” his seductive voice repeated chuckling.

“Don’t listen to me please,” I replied, embarrassed.

“You're new aren’t you?” He asked.

“Yeah, I just started today,” I informed him, unable to look away from his hypnotising eyes which seemed to look right through and within me.

“I thought so, I hadn’t seen you around. Well I’m Stephen,” Stephen introduced himself holding out a friendly hand.

“And I’m Melanie, but you could call me Mel for short if you want,” I replied.

“I mean, my friends call me Mel, so you can call me Mel too, even though we're not friends yet, or anything…” I rambled, making him chuckle sexily again as I placed my small hand in his large cool one. I felt a spark flow through my body from his touch but tried to pay no mind to it. Maybe it had been an electric shock.

“Well I’ll call you Melanie, since I don’t want to be like all of your other friends and if you need anyone to show you around campus, tell me and I’ll do the job,” Stephen suggested, winking at me and then walking away without giving me a chance to answer. My heart stopped for a second when he winked at me since I had never had such an attractive guy wink at me. I was only an average girl or so I thought and so it was quite a large surprise. I had normal bronze coloured hair, big light brown eyes, full lips and was about 5’9 which I considered pretty tall for a girl. My ordinary slim physique didn’t get me anywhere either and realising that this was my only chance to maybe have a boyfriend, I spun around ready to call Stephen, only for him to turn around as well and state,

“Actually, I’m not giving you a choice. Come with me Melanie and I’ll show you around.”
