Olivia
After my shower, I stepped into my room where a green dress, underwear, and socks had been laid out for me.
~How fitting~, I mused.
Braydenâs pet name for me was Olive, and here he was, having me wear a green dress. I carefully dried off, ensuring no water would dampen the dress.
I slipped into my underwear and bra, then examined the dress for any zippers or buttons. To my relief, it was a simple slip dress, easy to put on without assistance. The socks were black lace, barely reaching past my ankles.
Once dressed, I quickly brushed my hair, deciding to leave it down. We were just going for a walk, and it seemed pointless to fuss over my hair when the day was nearing its end.
Emerging from my room, I found that Kaden and the servants had already departed, leaving Brayden alone with my collar and leash in his hands.
Our tour began on the main floor. He showed me the dining area, kitchen, and a door leading to a patio. I learned that Coleâs room and office were situated at the very top of the estate, ten floors up.
Reaching the top floor was straightforward enough. However, navigating the tenth floor was like trying to find my way through a labyrinth. It was filled with numerous doors, leading to offices and rooms like Coleâs. Brayden explained that only a select few vampires had the privilege of residing on the top floor. I found it strange that his room would be there. Wasnât Marcus the head vampire here?
We started at the top of the stairs, making our way to the first room.
âCan you remember that?â
I nodded, and he seemed satisfied with my response. We continued on, taking two left turns and a right.
We walked down a dimly lit hallway, and I immediately recognized the door to Coleâs office. It was adorned with unique patterns and symbols. I noticed then that each door in the hallway was distinct.
âItâs crucial that you recognize this door. We donât label the doors with names, but the symbols and markings are unique. And this box here?
âItâs a keypad. You press certain numbers, and the door will unlock. If you ever find yourself in danger, run here and enter 0-9-5-8-8. You can hide until Cole or I can come to get you. Do you understand?â His expression was a mix of concern and worry.
His words stirred fear within me, and I managed to whisper a âyes.â
He nodded, and we continued our tour. By the time we reached the last hallway, I was exhausted. This hallway was different. The walls were painted black, and an eerie silence hung in the air.
âThis is not a hallway you want to find yourself in. These rooms are used for punishing pet and servant humans. And that door at the end,â he pointed to a rounded door.
âThat leads to the dungeon. It goes all the way down, beneath this building. Each floor has a door leading to the dungeon, and they are all identical.â
His words sent a chill down my spine, and my palms began to sweat. Despite the fear, something was compelling me to explore the dungeon.
I pushed the thought aside as we continued down the hallways. The layout was confusing, and I was worried I wouldnât remember all the paths. I reassured myself that as long as I could find the stairs, I would be okay.
I tried to keep pace with Brayden, but fatigue was setting in. Before I could protest, he scooped me up and we were back at the room in an instant.
âI have a meeting with Cole. Iâll let you rest.â
I nodded as he set me down and punched in the same numbers as Coleâs office: 0-9-5-8-8. The leash swished in the air as Brayden disappeared.
I reached out to open the door, but before I could step inside, a sharp pain shot through my arm, causing me to cry out.
I stumbled backward, landing hard on the floor.
Looking up, I saw a strikingly handsome, yet very young man looming over me. I tried to scoot back, but my back hit the wall, causing me to wince in pain.
âWhat a lovely girl you are. And all alone with no owner, I see.â He smirked.
I touched my neck, feeling the collar still there with the leash attached.
âIâm wearing a collââ
Suddenly, the collar was ripped from my neck and flung across the room. The force jerked my head forward, causing it to crash back against the wall. My head spun, and everything became fuzzy.
The vampire lifted my dress. I tried to push him away, but he was much stronger, easily restraining my wrists. I was sure they would bruise.
I screamed as he sank his teeth into my upper thigh. He was rough, and my screams didnât deter him.
I remembered Coleâs rules from my first day. No one else was allowed to drink from me. I mustered all my strength to fight him off, but the darkness was closing in. I thought this was it. This was how I was going to die.
I opened my eyes slightly to see that I was back at the bedroom door. The vampire was trying to open the door, but he didnât know the code. I guess not every door had a code.
He gave up and dropped my limp body. Blood was trickling down my thigh, some of it already dried. I could feel bruises forming on my wrists and neck. My body ached, and I wished for death to take me.
âOlivia!â was the last thing I heard before everything went black.
