Unfazed, Fannie met his gaze steadily. Her voice was calm yet firm.
âNot exactly. With experience from being with many women, Jett could be just as capable.â She adjusted the bouquet of flowers she was holding with deliberate care, her confidence palpable. âSkills evolve over time. Though, Iâll admit, Iâm a bit of a germaphobe. The idea of getting involved with something overly familiar doesnât appeal to me.â
Bobby smirked, his proximity unnerving as he inched closer.
âAnd how exactly would you know my history? What if itâs not as many women as you think?â His voice was dripping with insinuation, and his presence was invasive.
Fannieâs heart pounded, but she remained composed.
âEven one is too many,â she shot back. The elevator doors opened just then, offering her a quick escape, which she took without hesitation, shoving Bobby aside.
As she stepped out, Bobbyâs voice trailed lazily after her, tinged with a cruel suggestion.
Uncover new worlds at g alnov els ;com âFifi, donât be too sure of Jettâs purity. Be careful you donât catch anything nasty.â
The absurdity of his words nearly made Fannie laugh. She had known Jett for yearsâhow could she possibly be wrong about him now? How could Bobby have the audacity to talk about Jett like that?
Irritated, Fannie took a few quick steps away, then spun around, giving Bobby a mocking, almost pitying look.
âWhy donât you check yourself before pointing fingers?â
Fannie arrived at her producer friendâs hospital room. Her friend, a driven professional, was working from her hospital bed with an IV drip in her arm.
Fannie had spent a long time observing the industry before diving in, aware that building relationships was key. She consistently treated her seniors with respect and humility.
âAmy, are you feeling better?â Fannie asked.
âIt was just a minor issue. I would have left by now if the doctor hadnât insisted I stay,â Amy replied, waving her hand dismissively.
Fannie set down the flowers and fruits she brought and filled a glass of water for her friend. âYou need to take better care of yourself. Hearing you collapsed at work was really frightening for me.â
Amy paused her work and took the glass from Fannie. âLetâs not dwell on that. You came at the perfect time. I have something important to discuss with you. Iâm preparing a new variety show.â
Fannie sighed deeply, her concern evident. âAmy, you need to think beyond your career. Your health is more important than any show.â
Amy gave a soft laugh, touched by Fannieâs genuine concern. She trusted Fannie and valued her opinion, which was why she considered her for promising opportunities. As a renowned producer, Amy had the power to draw celebrities to her projects, and she knew that Fannie had a bright future ahead of her.
By the time they finished talking, it was already evening.
âIâll discuss this further and follow up with you soon,â Fannie said.
