âYou know the agency my friend and I started is still in its early stages. Weâre not well-known in the industry yet, and right now, what we need most is exposure and recognition.â
Jett frowned, clearly confused.
âDo you really have to go about it this way?â
âItâs a common PR strategy in the entertainment world,â she replied, her tone steady but tinged with a quiet frustration.
Jett struggled to understand the complexities of social norms. His attention was solely focused on Fannieâs feelings towards him.
âFifi, any other news today wouldnât bother me. But if itâs about Bobby, that changes everything.â
âWhy?â Fannie asked, genuinely confused.
âYou had feelings for him once,â Jett replied, his voice tight.
âThat was a long time ago,â Fannie quickly answered, trying to reassure him.
Jett swallowed hard, realizing the futility of his jealousy. They werenât officially together yet, but todayâs events felt like a threat to the progress they had made.
He cared deeply for Fannie, and the thought of anything jeopardizing what they shared unsettled him.
âI canât shake this feeling,â Jett confessed, his voice lower now. âJust knowing you once loved him, even considered marrying him⦠it unsettles me. I need you to keep your distance from him, as much as possible. Weâre different from him, and I donât want him disrupting our lives anymore.â
Fannie felt her resolve starting to weaken under the weight of his words.
âI understand. Iâll talk to my boss,â she promised.
âOkay.â
After her call, Fannie took to her social media to set the record straight.
She announced that she didnât know Bobby well and dismissed the circulating photos as manipulations. She even included a lawyerâs letter to clarify the situation, and the publicâs opinion shifted swiftly.
Only then did Jett relax, his voice filled with relief.
âThank you, Fifi.â
âItâs nothing,â Fannie replied with a soft smile.
âI really should be more considerate of your feelings.â
They continued their meal in blissful silence, savoring each otherâs company.
However, Bobbyâs situation was far from serene.
Scandals werenât new to him, but the swift disassociation by the scandalâs female lead was almost comical to his friends.
âWhat did you do to her? Itâs been barely two hours, and sheâs already sent a lawyerâs letter. She wants nothing to do with you!â one of Bobbyâs friends teased.
Bobby, clearly annoyed, threw a cushion at his friend.
âWill you ever shut up? I never laid a hand on her!â he snapped.
