On the upside, at least it wasnât that actress.
When the call ended, she quickly opened Twitter, her heart sinking as she scrolled through the feed.
âWhat is all this?â
The photos showed her in a hotel cleanerâs uniform, with Bobby and the actress leaving the same room in sequence. There were three pictures in total. The angle was incredibly sharp, the paparazzi clearly having perfected their craft. Some people were speculating that it was a cover-up for a secret relationship between her and Bobby, with the actress acting as a decoy.
Others went so far as to dig up Fannie and Bobbyâs past, uncovering their canceled engagement. Someone even wrote a sensationalized story, twisting their love-hate relationship into something straight out of a novel. Even Fannieâs little teddy bear was photographed and now labeled as a token of their love.
Fannieâs heart sank. She had planned to confess her feelings to Jett that evening, but this controversy had ruined everything.
What kind of nonsense was this? How would Jett feel once he found out? How could she confess her feelings with this mess all over the internet? Who would want to see their girlfriendâs name trending alongside someone elseâs on the day they made things official?
gⱯlnÏνð®ðsï¹ð¬ððº, the heart of fiction âDonât worry. Iâll issue a statement later, boss. Can you use your connections to help me out?â
âDonât,â the boss replied, seemingly indifferent. âWeâll take advantage of the massive traffic Bobbyâs generating from this controversy.â
âItâs just heating up. The attention is good for you and your artists! Bad publicity is still publicity! Hold off on that statement until we get enough good results, okay?â
Fannie rubbed her forehead, distressed by the idea. âBut it might get out of hand.â
âWell, the bigger it gets, the better!â the boss said, grinning.
With a troubled heart, Fannie returned to the table, only to find Jett staring at his phone, his brows furrowed in concern. She immediately had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, when she sat down, Jett showed her his phone. âWhatâs going on here?â
Fannie sighed and told him the truth. âThe media twisted the narrative.â
âI ordered to have all the paparazzi driven away, yet some still managed to slip through?â
âThere are relentless ones, Jett. Itâs hard to guard against them.â Jett took a deep breath, reining in his emotions. Even though he was upset by the situation, he couldnât take it out on Fannie.
âCan your company handle the PR?â
Fannie pressed her lips together, looking at Jett.
âNot at the moment.â
âWhy not?â
She set down her knife and fork, feeling a bit guilty but maintaining a calm demeanor.
