Fannie said, âJust go out there, act naturally, and face those reporters with confidence.â
âBut what if they ask about my connection to Mr. Kelly?â the actress asked.
Fannie replied, âThen say you donât know him and keep it simple. Donât dance around the subject, or it might damage your reputation.â
Though the actress wasnât fully convinced of Fannieâs abilities, she didnât have many options.
âAnd you, Fannie? What will you do?â the actress inquired.
âIâll stay back and chat with Mr. Kelly for a while,â Fannie answered.
Fannie shot Bobby a look, acknowledging him as the wild card in this scenario. If he could just behave, sheâd be able to handle the reporters without a hitch.
âAlright, Iâll go then!â The actress hurried out the door.
Bobby, lounging lazily, watched Fannie with a smirk. âSo, whatâs on your mind?â
Ignoring him, Fannie walked to the window, pulling out her phone to call Jett.
âJett? Bobby and I are stuck in the hotel. Paparazzi are everywhere.â
On the other end, Jett sounded surprised but listened closely. Once he realized she was there to help the actress, he relaxed.
âHang tight, Fifi. Iâll get someone to clear them out right away.â
âThanks, Jett.â
Jett had been trying to win her over for nearly half a year. Her friends and family were all rooting for him. Dulce would tease, âHave some pity on my brotherâheâs not getting any younger!â Fannieâs parents were even more enthusiastic, practically pushing her towards him.
She didnât mind Jettâs pursuit but hated feeling pressured. Eventually, they had an honest conversation, which brought a comfortable understanding.
Now, Jett invited her to movies on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and theyâd go for walks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
He never missed a chance to surprise her with flowers or thoughtful gifts. In her work, he had also been a valuable ally, though sheâd assured him it wasnât necessary. The entertainment industry was tough, and she knew having someone like him by her side could be beneficial.
Everyone assumed there was something more between them, and for the most part, she let them believe it. Her priority was to secure opportunities for her artists, but she wasnât blind to Jettâs efforts, nor ungrateful. She knew her feelings could deepen in time.
After hanging up, Fannie checked the timeâhalf an hour until three. Sheâd planned to watch a movie with Jett and have dinner, hoping to solidify her connection with him. But now, she could be late.
With no better option, she settled onto the sofa to wait. Bobby watched her from across the room, legs propped up, one eyebrow raised.
âThings going well with Jett, huh?â he asked.
She felt her cheeks warm. âNot that itâs any of your business.â
âSure, sure.â Bobbyâs expression turned mockingly wounded. âJust funny. You used to want to marry me, and now youâre off with Jett. Women!â
Fannie shot him a look. Once, sheâd seen him through rose-colored glasses, only to realize that he was all charm on the outside and mischief underneath.
