Callan asked the waiter, âWe did not order any wine. Is there a mistake?â
âNo, this was specifically sent by Miss Finch from the adjacent room for Mr. Miller.â
âWhich Miss Finch?â
âThat will be enough,â Adrian interjected, waving his hand dismissively. âJust leave it here and step outside.â He gave Callan a meaningful glance, who understood immediately. After the waiter left, Callan instructed that a bottle of equivalent value be delivered back to the neighboring room.
As the waiter left, Callan cast a quick glance and realized it was Mila.
Shortly after concluding the business discussions and seeing off the partners, Adrian returned to the hospital with Callan.
âMr. Miller, the wine was sent by Mila Finch.â
Adrian had little interaction with Mila, so he was surprised by this information. âDid she need something from me?â
Callan nodded. âI overheard that she wanted to ease the tension between us and the Finch family.â However, Adrian paused, realizing that he hadnât been made aware of any recent issues concerning the Finch family.
âMr. Miller, would you like me to investigate?â
gαâηÏνððsâ¤com, your source for inspiration âNo need.â
After all, it was at their residence that the incident involving Ryland had occurred. At that time, Adrian had decided that any further encounters would only bring sadness to both families, so it was wiser to part ways.
Back at the hospital, Aurora had already visited Joelle and was being escorted back by Leah.
Only Shawn remained, waiting by the door.
âThereâs a research institute overseas that specializes in treating rare diseases. Iâd like to inquire about Joelleâs condition. Her right hand was healed there previously.â
Since the incident, Shawn had been far from idle, diligently consulting with various doctors. He had already seen all the top specialists domestically, and his next step was to seek help abroad.
âAlright,â Adrian said, grasping Joelleâs hand. âAre you able to manage on your own?â
âIâm used to being on my own. Adrian, Iâm relying on you to take care of Joelle. Donât overextend yourself, and try to keep a positive outlook.â
Joelle had lost a significant amount of weight, and Adrian was no exception to this unsettling reality. He stayed by her side as much as possible, making Shawn feel inadequate in comparison.
At night, when everyone else had left, Joelle was left in solitude within her hospital room.
These days, Adrian had explored many methods to try to wake Joelle from her slumber. Knowing how much she adored flowers, he arranged for fresh blooms to be delivered daily. Aware of her passion for music, he brought in all the instruments she had once mastered: violin, guitar, accordion, and cello. Since the piano was too large, he opted for a more portable electronic keyboard.
He even decorated her room with photos of Aurora and Ryland, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
