Chapter 13: Mommy Loves You Jasmineâs POV âMom, can I play in the living room?â David asks while Iâm busy on my laptop. Diego has a business meeting out of the country, so Iâm working from home. I just canât leave my son with our Maid.
âWhy? You can play here. Donât worry. After Iâm done with this, Iâll play with you,â I said and kissed him on his chicks. He pouted, and heâs so cute.
âBut, I want to play in the living room, Mom. I promise I wonât go outside,â he said, hugging me. I hugged him back and messed his hair.
âFine, you know I canât resist you when youâre doing that. Just call me if youâre hungry or you need something, okay?â I said, and he nodded at me before going outside of our room.
I rest my back. I tried to forget him. I thought after those years, I would never see him again, but I was wrong. While David is growing, he looks like his father; he is like a carbon copy of him. He also had this attitude like him.
Itâs hard to escape from that nightmare, and even from here, I always carry it. While Iâm looking at my son, I always see his fatherâthose eyes, nose, lips, and even his eyebrows. The way he acted sometimes, he really looked exactly like his father.
I wiped my tears; I couldnât stop thinking, what if one day they would see each other? I donât want that day to happen, but I know I canât stop it.
I donât want my son to see him because I know how ruthless he is, and Iâm afraid that he will tell David that he doesnât have a son like him. I donât want my son to get hurt. I donât want him to experience what I had experienced with his father.
I wouldnât say I like that one day. That man would push David away and say in front of him that he doesnât accept him as his son.
He and his family never liked me, and now I donât have any news about them. I never bother to do so.
What is important now is my son, nothing else.
After I was done working, I went to check on David, but he was not in the living room.
âDavid? Where are you?â I called him, but he didnât respond.
âHave you seen my son?â I asked one of the maids.
âHeâs just been playing here a while ago, maâam,â she answered, not knowing where David went.
I walked around and saw an open door. I was about to close that room when I heard Rustles. I thought it was some kind of mouse or what, but then when I entered, I saw David picking things inside the box.
âWhat are you doing here, baby?â I asked him, which made him look at me and smile.
Itâs been a long time since this room was occupied. Our old stuff was stuck in here.
âMommy, look what I found. âHe extended his hand, showing a piece of paper.
He showed me a picture of that place. My expression changed in an instant.
âWhat about this baby? I told you not to come in this room, right?â I held his hand while he looked at the picture in my hands.
He nodded. âI just want to see that, Mom,â he said, pointing at the picture.
âThis place is far away from here, baby; you have to ride an aeroplane before going there, âI explained to him, hoping that he would understand.
âAirplane?! Mommy, I want to go there. Please! Take me there, Momâ he held my hand, begging me to do what he wanted.
I donât know, but when he said those words, I started to feel uneasy, maybe because I didnât want to go back there anymore.
âWe canât baby, Your Daddy Uncle went there for a business meeting. Besides, we could go to another place. âI said, but he shook his head, and he had already made up his mind.
âMommy, please. Can you talk to Daddy Uncle to take us there?â He pleased me. I donât know how to answer him.
âDo you really like to go there? What about your school? Mommy and Daddy Uncle are also busy doing business here, âI explained, which made him sad, and I didnât want to see him like that.
âI wanted to go there, Mom,â he said and hugged me. He also kissed me on the cheek.
âFine, but we have to talk to your Daddy Uncle first, okay?â I got the picture back on the box, held his hand, and went out of the room and locked it.
He ran through the living room excitedly. The thing is I donât want to go back there, I also donât know how to tell Diego.
It was already late at night, and David and I were now lying on the bed.
âMom,â he called me while I was busy on my phone.

ï¤Chapter 12: Someone Like You âWhat is it, baby?â I place my phone on the table and kiss him on his forehead.
âIâm just wondering why all of the kids are calling their father daddy while Iâm calling my daddy Uncle?â His question made me nervous.
I was thinking about this day to come, and now itâs really happening, and until now, I still donât know what to tell him.
âBaby, I donât think I can answer your question. Maybe you still canât understand what I mean for now. For now, maybe stop worrying about those things, okay? Just always remember that me and your Daddy Uncle loved you so much.â I pinched his nose, and he hugged me.
âI love you too, mom. You promise me that we will go to that place,â he said and yawned.
He still didnât forget about that picture. Thatâs the first picture his father took me on our anniversary when we were still in love. I regret not burning those pictures.
I kissed his forehead and put a blanket on him.
âI love you, baby;Mommyy loves you no matter what happens. â
