Nathan parked the car in silence, then stepped out of the driverâs seat and walked around to the passenger side, gently opening the door for Lucinda.
He leaned down and lifted her out of the car with care.
Lucinda embraced Nathan, her arms encircling his neck, and playfully inquired, âYouâre quite the gracious host tonight.
Are you in the mood to savor a bit of me?â
Nathan suppressed a laugh.
âWell, until your concussion is fully healed, I wonât be bringing up the idea of savoring you anymore.
Your well-being comes first in all our fun and games.
â
âYou are being quite restrained today.
â Lucinda gave Nathan a skeptical glance.
âHoney, itâs not like you to be uninterested in savoring a bit of me.

Nathan gave Lucinda a tender ki*s on her lips and said, âYour well-being means the world to me.
â
Lucinda leaned closer to Nathanâs ear, her alluring and gentle voice tempting him.
âYou know, Iâm nearly back to my old self.
The concussion isnât holding us back anymore, Nate.
Are you certain you donât want to savor our first moment since returning home?â
Her warm breath brushed against his sensitive ear, sending a shiver down his spine.
Nathan swallowed hard, maintaining his calm as he walked forward.
Lucinda playfully tugged at his tie and teased, âItâs a candlelit dinner.
Arenât you eager to share some intimate moments with me?â
Nathan chuckled, âDarling, cut it out.
Youâre well aware that my resistance to you is non-existent.
I can
hardly resist you.
â
âI got it,â Lucinda replied.
She let go of his tie, neatly arranging it back into Nathanâs collar, and nestled herself in his arms, allowing him to carry her inside.
Once inside, Nathan placed Lucinda on the sofa and arranged snacks and fruits for her.
âIâve got everything ready for dinner.
The main course needs a quick cook.
Please, stay seated and donât wander off, alright?â
Lucinda nodded, sensing that something was amiss with Nathan.
What was the reason he didnât allow her to get up from the sofa?
Deep inside Lucindaâs heart, a strange tremor began to stir.
With thoughts of the little ones on the fourth floor, Lucinda attempted to slip away quietly for playtime while Nathan was occupied in the kitchen.
Yet, she swung open the nursery door and saw an empty crib.
There was no sign of the babies or Zenia anywhere in sight.
She stood in stunned disbelief as she gazed upon the empty room.
A sudden rush of panic surged through her, and she ran down the stairs and into the kitchen, terror gripping her heart.
âHoney, Colby, and Destinee are gone.
Something must have happened!â
Lucinda exclaimed urgently.
Nathan paused his cooking and let out a quiet sigh.
He hadnât anticipated Lucinda discovering the situation this quickly.
