âI look forward to working together.
â
As Lucinda finished signing the contract, the crimson glow of the setting sun streamed in through the window.
Lucinda cast a glance at the stunning sunset and had a sudden recollection of Nathanâs earlier words from noon.
She checked the time and realized there was only half an hour left before the end of the workday.
She had made a promise, and she had no intention of breaking her commitment to Nathan.
Lucinda assigned her assistant to handle the remaining reception duties and exited her office, heading for the parking lot.
She was about to call Nathan when she noticed his luxury car parked nearby.
Lucinda approached Nathanâs car and confirmed that he was indeed inside.
As she neared, Nathan exited the car, walked around from the driverâs side to the passengerâs side, opened the door for Lucinda, and helped her with her seatbelt.
His thoughtfulness was as evident as always.
As Nathan bent down, Lucinda lifted her face and ki*sed his Lips.
âIf I were to give you an award, it would have to be the National Best Husband Award.
â
Nathan gently held Lucindaâs chin with one hand and intensified the ki*s.
âAnd you would be the Best Wife,â he replied.
Lucindaâs cheerful laughter rang out, and she reveled in the happiness of their harmonious married life.
On the way back to N&L Fairy Land, Lucindaâs thoughts drifted uncontrollably as she stared at the scenery outside the car window.
Nathan kept sneaking glances at Lucinda, and every time he did, he couldnât help but smile as he noticed the peaceful look on her face.
While waiting at the traffic lights, Lucinda spotted a young mother pushing a stroller through the street, and in that instant, a deep longing for a similar experience welled up inside her.
âNate, once our little ones grow a few months older, we can each take a baby carriage and go for a stroll with them.
That sounds Like it would be quite an adventure,â Lucinda said.
âAbsolutely,â Nathan agreed.
âThey would love that.
â
Seeing the young mother with the stroller made Lucinda realize how much she longed for her little ones.
âI headed out of N&L Fairy Land right around noon.
Left our babies for just a few hours, and Iâm already missing them.
â
Nathanâs expression tightened slightly.
âHow about we steer clear of the little ones tonight, alright? Letâs put all our attention on us and our romantic candlelit dinner Lucinda glanced at Nathan, her expression clouded with confusion.
Despite her discontent, she chose to remain silent.
Ten minutes later, the car pulled up at the Payne familyâs garage.
