Irene’s POV

Elton’s words were sharp; even though it was true, I couldn’t help the slight pang of pain that shot through me.

“Elton.” Alek called out, pulling me out of my thoughts. His voice is low, but I can’t help but shiver at the power that pushes at the table from that one word.

Even with my power locked away, I could feel how much power was contained within him behind those amber eyes.

“Irene is our mate. Behind closed doors and outside these doors. That’s not going to change.”

I had expected Elton to relent. Not only was Alek older than him with a considerable gap, but he was also the King and his Alpha.

However, Elton pushes back with strength as fierce as his brother, and I can see Noah clenching his fist from the suppression he is releasing.

“Yes. You are in the Lycan Empire, and this is the Royal Palace that rules the Empire.”

My mouth slackened, and I shook my head twice, unable to believe what he said.
