She used to come eat grilled meat whenever she felt down.

Lin Xu’s sweet scent lingered at the tip of his nose, his heartbeat seemed to skip a beat, and everything around them fell silent.

Xie Changyan’s low, hoarse voice began, but before he could finish, a shrill ringtone shattered the ambiguity between them.

Lin Xu’s long eyelashes trembled, a shade of embarrassment appeared on her cheeks, “I… I’ll take this call first.”

“Mm.”

Xie Changyan let her go, and from the corner of his eye, he saw the name on the display of her phone. His heart tightened suddenly, a discomfort quietly rising.
