Chapter Fifty Eight - I Have You

Milo's P.O.V -

It's been a month since we found out Lucy was pregnant and since then everything has been going smoothly.

They had both told their parents about the pregnancy a few days after they found out. Wyatt's parents were thrilled while Lucy's parents were furious. This made sense, Wyatt's parents knew that they were mates and would be together for the rest of their lives while Lucy's parents only saw it as their seventeen year old daughter getting pregnant by her boyfriend who she only began dating a couple months ago.

Lucy's parents remained angry until Lincoln allowed Lucy to tell them about werewolves, since then they have seemed a lot happier about the situation, although they were understandably scared at first. I mean I would be too if my daughter was suddenly dating and having a baby with a mythical creature.

It was now March and I was alone in Lincoln's room on the phone to my mum while Lincoln and the rest prepared a party downstairs.

"Happy Birthday Milo!" My mum exclaimed.

I smiled at her through the video call. "Thanks mum."

"You're eighteen now." She spoke proudly. "An adult."

I nodded with a small laugh. "Not that it's any different to seventeen."

"America and their drinking age of twenty one." My mum mused. "Have you got any plans for today?"

"They're setting up a party downstairs." I told her.

"Ah so that's where Lincoln is." She smiled.

My mum and Lincoln have got increasingly close over the time I've been living here. Lincoln always joins in on our calls and my mum had grown fond of him. It seems she has gotten past the werewolf issue.

My dad still hadn't gotten past his issue with werewolves however. Lincoln and I had visited him last week. The entire time my dad was clearly uncomfortable with Lincoln, I couldn't tell whether this was because he was my boyfriend or because he was a werewolf. My guess was both. Yet despite his discomfort he never brought it up or spoke negatively about Lincoln.

My dad went on to apologize for everything, Bella, beating me up and shooting me and his behavior towards werewolves as a whole. I replied by telling him that his apology wasn't enough and he understood. Later in the meeting I had told him that I forgave him which surprised him, Lincoln and even myself.

I was surprised to realize I meant it. I looked at my father in his prison clothes and his pale sunken face and I couldn't help but feel bad for him. I knew he deserved to be in prison but he was still my Dad and I loved him. Even though I told him that I had forgiven him I also explained that I had no desire to have a relationship with him in the future and that this meeting would be the last time I would see or speak to him.

At this he cried, something I had only seen at Anna's funeral, he burst out into apologies once again. By the end he had composed himself and had told me that he respected, accepted and understood my decision. We said brief goodbyes before Lincoln and I left.

I expected to feel more emotional about leaving my father but we arrived at Lincoln's house and found Andrew and Bella in the living room watching a movie. Andrew had noticed our entrance and looked up at us, his eyes had met mine and he just smiled.

It filled me with reassurance that I still had a father, I doubted he saw me as a son but in that moment I realized I looked up to him as my dad.

After another twenty minutes talking to my mum we said our goodbyes and ended the call. I made my way downstairs to where they were setting up the party.

Once I got downstairs they had almost finished decorating. Bella and Cora's mum were setting out food and people were starting to arrive.

"That was a long phone call with your mum." Lincoln said as I reached the bottom of the stairs. "I was worried you'd miss the fun bit where we all get to scare Victoria and shout surprise."

Another thing was that I hadn't told Lincoln that today was my birthday. This party was for Victoria who I had found out shared a birthday with me. I no longer enjoy my birthday, I haven't since my sister died. We would always spend our birthday's together, well apart from her last birthday. She spent that one with her friends.

Lucy has spent the last two birthdays with me but this year I told her not to tell anyone, and surprisingly she had kept the secret. I would've told Lincoln but I knew he would make a big deal about my birthday and I really wasn't feeling up to it, especially since I was away from my family for the first time.

"Yeah she was telling me about all of Roberto's children." I told him, that was half the truth. My mum had spoken about them but she mainly spoke about my birthday.

Lincoln nodded and looked around the room as more and more people began to enter. "I think we're ready."

"What time is Victoria supposed to arrive?" I asked him.

"Victoria's friend Sophie took her to lunch an hour ago so they should be back soon." He said checking the time on his phone. "She said that she'd text me when she's leaving."

"Okay good." I nodded.

"I love throwing Victoria surprise parties." Wyatt chuckled as he walked over to us. "She gets so mad because she's not dressed for a party. She runs up to her room and then returns in new clothes."

I laughed for a moment glancing around quickly. "Where's Lucy?"

"She is doing some packing but she'll get here in about half an hour." Wyatt explained. "I think I forgot to tell her that it was a birthday party, so I guess it'll be a surprise for her too."

Lucy had made the decision to move in with Wyatt, she hadn't picked a day and simply said that she would move here once she finishes packing. Wyatt helps her pack but I knew that they were both lazy and got easily distracted so Lucy's moving process was taking a long time.

It wasn't long until Victoria arrived and she reacted exactly as Wyatt had suggested. She jumped in surprised, then spoke to her parents for a few minutes before disappearing upstairs.

About ten minutes later Victoria returned in a pink glittery mini dress with her hair perfectly curled. Lincoln stared at her in disapproval.

"How did you get dressed so fast?" Lincoln asked her confused.

"I had an outfit prepared in case you decided to throw me a party." She shrugged before looking at me. "Isn't it weird that we're the same age now?"

I laughed awkwardly. "Yeah it's weird."

She smiled before disappearing to find her friends. Lincoln and Wyatt began to talk about pack business so I stood beside them silently.

"Wyatt?" Lucy's voice stopped their conversation.

Wyatt turned to look at her with a wide smile. "Hey Lucy."

"What's all this?" She looked around at the crowds of people in confusion.

"It's a birthday party." Wyatt answered.

Lucy's face scrunched up in confusion as she turned to look at me. "You told them?"

My eyes widened as Lincoln and Wyatt looked at me in confusion.

I shook my head quickly. "It's Victoria's birthday party."

"Oh." She spoke surprised. "Sorry."

Lincoln gripped my hand and turned me towards him. "What did Lucy think this was for?"

I hesitated and tried to create a lie but failed. "Um, well, it's kind of my birthday today too."

Lincoln's face dropped as he stared at me he looked over at Wyatt who had an equally confused face. He looked back at me now suddenly sad.

"I-i forgot your birthday?" Lincoln's voice wobbled slightly which filled me with guilt.

"No." I shook my head quickly. "I never told you when my birthday is, you can't forget something I never told you."

He just stared at me for a few moments before sighing in annoyance. "I'm such a shit mate."

My heart clenched at his words. "No you're not Lincoln, you're the best mate, the best boyfriend I could've possibly asked for."

He just shook his head and clenched his jaw.

"If anything I'm the shit mate for not telling you and making you feel this way." I argued.

"Don't be stupid." Lincoln gritted out. "You're a perfect mate."

I smiled. "So are you."

"I should've known your birthday." He insisted.

"It's not your fault, I'm the one who didn't tell you." I replied grabbing both his hands.

"I should've asked you, or Lucy or you're mum. I should've found out even if you didn't tell me." He growled obviously annoyed at himself.

"I didn't want you to know, I told Lucy not to tell you, I just didn't feel like celebrating my birthday this year." I told him as I squeezed his hands. "It didn't feel right having a birthday without my family. I've been feeling really home sick with my mum in Italy and I guess my birthday only made things worse so I decided to avoid it this year."

Lincoln sighed pulling me into a tight hug. "Fine we won't make a big deal about it, but I'm buying you a present and a cake."

I smiled into his shoulder. "Okay, but no singing happy birthday."

"Deal." He mumbled. "I'm still a shit mate."

"If your shit then I'm the shit shit shits." I chuckled.

I felt his shoulders shake as he laughed silently, I pulled away from the hug to see a smile on his face as he stared at me.

"I love you Lincoln." I told him with an equally large smile.

"I love you Milo." He spoke in return.

Wyatt broke out in gagging noises as he mocked us, Lucy slapped his chest and scolded him for interrupting the moment.

I noticed that at some point Cole and Cora had walked over to join us. It was clear to see that Cora was pregnant now, she was six months pregnant and incredibly excited to meet the baby.

They had a gender reveal party, where Cora already knew the gender. They did the reveal with a baseball that Cora threw to Cole, when he hit it with the baseball bat, blue exploded in the air. Cole was thrilled to be having a boy and ran over to Cora picking her up and spinning her in a hug.

Cole had said from the start that he wanted a boy and not a girl, he claimed that he didn't know what to do with a daughter and said he would understand how to raise a son much more. We all knew he was nervous to become a father but no one else shared his concerns.

Lucy and Wyatt were planning to find out the gender of their baby as soon as they possibly could. Lucy was two and a half months pregnant so they couldn't find out for several more weeks.

I looked across the room to see Bella clutching onto Andrew as she watched everyone in the room nervously. Andrew had been surprised when Bella said that she was going to attend the birthday party but she had been making great progress and being comfortable in crowds was the next challenge she would have to face.

So far she was doing well, she wasn't comfortable but she was coping. Andrew was watching her carefully to look for any signs of Bella becoming overwhelmed, he was a great mate to her.

Bella locked eyes with me and a small smile spread across her lips, this made me grin back at her. Andrew noticed me staring and watched me warmly for a moment before they both broke eye contact.

I turned to see Lincoln staring at me with the same look Andrew had been watching Bella with. The look all mates shared.

Lincoln was doing incredibly well in his therapy sessions and things were halfway back to normal, in a few months I was sure that his anxiety about someone hurting me would have almost disappeared entirely. I hadn't expected him to make so much progress so quickly but it really does show how much therapy and talking to people can help.

"What do you want for your birthday? I've been trying to think of something for the past few minutes but I'm struggling." He stared at me with warm eyes.

He was perfect, more than perfect. I don't think there are words to describe what Lincoln is. I loved him unconditionally and I knew he felt the same.

I looked up at him with a soft smile. "I don't need anything."

Because I have you.
