Chapter Fifty Seven - Secret
Lincoln's P.O.V -
"So you said Lucy was here?" Wyatt asked as he climbed out of the passenger seat.
"Yeah, she skipped school to spend the day with Milo." I explained.
Truthfully, I was jealous of Lucy for getting to spend the day with Milo while I was forced to go to school. My wolf and I didn't feel comfortable leaving our mate while he is sick.
I quickly walked over to the door eager to see my mate, I was glad that once I stepped into the house I immediately spotted my mate sat on the couch with Lucy. They where whispering to each other and didn't seem to notice as we walked in.
"Hi Milo." I smiled as his head snapped up to look at me.
His eyes widened and he pulled out his phone to check the time. "Is school over already? I must have lost track of time."
I noticed that Lucy had tensed when I walked in and she made no movement to look at me.
"How are you feeling?" I asked walking over to him.
Milo just shrugged before looking past me at Wyatt who was only just walking into the house.
"You left your bag in the car." Wyatt tossed it at me.
The bag slammed into my chest making me groan but I still managed to catch it.
"Hi Lucy, I heard you skipped school." Wyatt grinned walking over to us.
I frowned when Lucy bursts into tears at the sound of Wyatt's voice. Wyatt's face dropped before morphing into concern.
"Lucy what's wrong?" He rushed over to her but this only seemed to upset her more.
Milo glanced between them for a moment before standing up, picking up Lucy and quickly leaving the room.
Wyatt stood frozen with a frown etched into his face. "D-did I do something?"
"Um." I glanced at the staircase they had disappeared up. "I'm not sure, but I don't think it's your fault. She already seemed worried about something when I walked in."
"I'm going to go find her." Wyatt announced before running up the stairs.
I quickly followed him to my room, Wyatt entered without knocking. As I stepped in Lucy moved her arms behind her back to hide something before Wyatt or I could see what it was.
"Lucy what's wrong?" Wyatt asked her.
Her lip wobbled and more tears began to roll down her cheeks. I could see the pain in Wyatt's face as he looked at his mate.
"Wyatt." Milo stood up from the bed. "Can I talk to you outside?"
Milo walked past us and left, Wyatt stood staring at Lucy for a moment before sighing and following after Milo.
I stepped towards Lucy and crouched down in front of her. "Are you okay?"
She managed to shake her head through her tears. "Wyatt's going to be mad at me."
"No he won't." I replied. "And even if he is it won't last long, he can't stay mad at you. You know that."
"This is different." She cried.
I wracked my brain trying to figure out what Lucy could've have done which she thinks would upset Wyatt this much. I was about to console her further when loud growls sounded from outside the room.
I rushed out the room when I heard Milo's voice. I found Wyatt pinning Milo to the wall, low growls were released from Wyatt while Milo stared at him blankly.
"Wyatt!" I gritted out. "Let him go."
Wyatt tensed and put more pressure on Milo's neck making him cough. "Just tell me what's wrong with my mate!"
Milo glared at him in response which made Wyatt angrier.
"Wyatt, I am you're fucking alpha." I growled. "Listen to me and get off my mate."
Wyatt's eyes darted over to me for a moment and from how dark they were I could tell that his wolf was in control, which only made me more concerned about my mate. His wolf would be split between wanting to help him mate and obeying his alpha. When a wolf is in control the person is more likely to act irrationally.
"Wyatt." I spoke warningly.
He relaxed his hold on Milo so that he could breath properly but still held him against the wall.
"Tell me." He demanded.
"No." Milo told him. "Respect you're mate and her privacy."
That made him take a step back as his face dropped. He furrowed his eye brows as he looked between Milo and I, his eyes had now returned to normal. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay." I spoke calmly, I knew that it wasn't his fault that his wolf had taken over. Mine would have done the same.
Milo watched him cautiously before walking over to me. I wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him into my side.
"Are you okay?" I asked glancing down at his neck which had turned red.
He nodded glancing back to my bedroom door, he wanted to go back to Lucy but I didn't want to let him go.
I noticed the sweat rolling down his forehead but I couldn't tell whether it was because of the situation or because he had a fever again, I would guess the latter.
The door behind me creaked open and Lucy slowly stepped out with her eyes locked on Wyatt. He looked at her sadly, he had no idea what was going on and it pained him.
"Wyatt." She whispered, although we all managed to hear her. "I need to tell you something."
He nodded and gave her a comforting smile before following her into my bedroom. Wyatt closed the door behind him.
I looked down at Milo. "What happened?"
"You'll find out soon." He mumbled. "It's been a long day and my head hurts can we go somewhere to lie down?"
"Of course." I smiled at him. "They took our room so why don't we go to Wyatt's?"
He nodded before he grabbed my hand and pulled me to Wyatt's room. Milo climbed into the bed wrapping the duvet around him.
"This is weird." I frowned. "I'm not sure if I like seeing you in Wyatt's bed."
"Not even if you're in it with me?" He raised a brow.
I smirked. "Well..." I trailed off.
"Not like that." He scoffed. "I'm too sick for that."
I smiled at him in amusement. "I know."
I stepped forward and crawled in beside him. I pulled him into me so that his head rested on my chest.
"How are you feeling?" I mumbled into his hair.
"I've taken quite a few pills so it's not too bad at the moment, my headache is slowly coming back and I'm getting hot." He explained.
"What did you end up making for breakfast?" I asked to make conversation.
"Uh." He thought for a moment. "I didn't."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Lucy came over so I got distracted." He admitted.
I sat up slowly. "I'll go make you something now."
He shook his head. "I'm not hungry."
"I let you not eat yesterday because you promised to eat today." I reminded him.
"Yeah, I thought I'd be hungry but I'm not." He sighed. "If I eat anything I'll just be sick anyway."
"Your body will still be able to absorb some nutrients before you throw up, something is better than nothing." I argued.
He frowned lifting his head to look at me. "Can we please just have a nap first? I promise I'll eat as soon as I wake up."
I stared at him for a moment. "Fine, but I'm not going to take no for an answer."
"Okay." He nodded.
He grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back onto the bed so that I was laying down before placing his head back on my chest. It wasn't long until he was fast asleep while I stayed awake wondering what was going on between Lucy and Wyatt.
***
"Come on Milo, you've only had two bites." I told him. "You promised that you'd eat."
He groaned holding his head up with his hands. "I'm sorry, I'm trying."
He slowly reached out to grab the sandwich and took a small bite before chewing it slowly. I watched him struggle to swallow it, he grimaced as he finally did which made me frown.
"What's wrong with the food?" I asked him glancing at the sandwich confused.
"My throat hurts." Milo mumbled. "And it tastes weird."
I reached forward to grab the sandwich and took a bite. "It tastes fine to me."
"It's because I'm ill, my taste buds are weird at the moment." He explained.
I nodded in understanding. "Well take a few more bites and then we can try again later."
He nodded and took another small bite from the sandwich, as I watched him eat Lucy and Wyatt entered the dining room.
I analyzed their expressions trying to figure out what had happened between them. Lucy's eyes were still red from crying but what surprised me was that Wyatt seemed to have tear stains on his cheeks also. I would've been concerned if it wasn't for the small smile on Wyatt's face as he looked at Lucy.
"Hi." I spoke slowly still confused about the situation.
"Hey." Wyatt smiled at me before glancing at Milo, who had now noticed their presence. "I'm sorry about my actions earlier."
"It's fine." Milo spoke his eyes focused on Lucy. "I understand why you did it."
The three of them exchanged a look before they all turned to look at me. I suddenly felt left out, they all knew this big secret while I was left in the dark.
"Um." Wyatt shifted on his feet and pulled something out of his hoodie pocket. "Here."
He placed something down in front of me and it took me a moment to process what it was. I picked up the pregnancy test and stared at the two lines.
I glanced up at Lucy and Wyatt with wide eyes. "You're pregnant?"
Lucy nodded hesitantly. I jumped out of my seat and pulled her into a tight hug. I smiled into her shoulder.
"Congratulations." I told her as I pulled away from the hug.
I walked over to Wyatt who was staring at me with bright eyes. I pulled him into a hug. "Congratulations brother." I mumbled quietly.
"Thank you brother." He whispered.
I stepped away from them and stood behind Milo's chair. I looked at the couple with a soft smile. "So you're having a kid then?"
Wyatt nodded. "Yeah, I made Lucy take half a dozen pregnancy tests to make sure the first one was right."
"We still need to go to the hospital to make sure everything's fine." Lucy added.
Wyatt nodded in agreement. "I'll call the pack hospital later to book an appointment."
"Please don't tell anyone yet." Lucy told us. "We want to make sure the, uh, baby is healthy first."
A grin spread across Wyatt's face when she said the word 'baby'.
"Of course Lucy." Milo spoke. "Lincoln and I won't tell anyone."
"You're kid will be almost the same age as Cora and Cole's." I pointed out.
"Yeah." Wyatt spoke enthusiastically. "I think It'll be nice to have kids the same age, they'll be able to be good friends."
"We'll be the only one's without a kid soon." I looked at Milo who rolled his eyes in response.
"Yeah and we won't be having one anytime soon." Milo replied.
"We'll see." I kissed the top of his head.
"I'm seventeen and you're eighteen." Milo stated. "We are not having kids for another ten years."
"Ten years?" I frowned. "But their kids will be so old by then, how will they be friends with our kids?"
Milo shrugged. "They might have more than one child Lincoln, our kids can be friends with them."
"Fine." I sighed.
Milo looked up at me. "If you want the adopted kid can be their age."
A smile spread across my face. "Deal."
"Have you already planned how many kids you're having?" Wyatt smirked at me.
"Yeah." I nodded. "My biological kid, Milo's biological kid and then an adopted kid."
"Yeah if you've already got that planned out you're definitely having kids sooner than in ten years." Lucy smiled.
Milo huffed. "Let's focus back on the child you two are having rather than talking about the future." Milo suggested.
We all agreed with him and began to talk about the baby. We tried to predict how many weeks into the pregnancy Lucy was and we made bets on what gender the baby would be. Lucy and I guessed that it would be a boy while Wyatt and Milo were confident it was a girl.
It was clear to see how excited Lucy and Wyatt were to meet their baby.
