Chapter Fifty Three - Embarrassed

Milo's P.O.V -

"I love you." I whispered leaning in to kiss him.

He smiled up at me. "I love you too."

"What are you two doing?" A voice filled the room.

Lincoln froze and I moved off him quickly. I looked over at Wyatt, he was stood in the doorway staring at us confused.

"What does it look like?" Lincoln grumbled before glancing at me. "Did you not lock the door?"

"You came in here last." I reminded him.

Lincoln nodded before looking back at Wyatt who hadn't moved.

"Are you both naked?" He questioned rather than answering Lincoln's question.

"Yes, so get out." I told him, I was now grateful for the duvet on top of us.

Wyatt's eyes widened and his mouth twitched. "Are you having sex?"

I watched him with a deadpanned expression, was it really that hard to figure out? I looked over at Lincoln who turned his head to look up at the ceiling.

"Yes we were having sex, so can you leav-" Lincoln was cut off when Wyatt jumped on the bed and hugged him.

"Congratulations!" Wyatt exclaimed. "I'm so proud of you."

I watched them in disbelief. Was this really happening?

"Wyatt, get off." Lincoln told him but Wyatt didn't budge.

He hugged Lincoln tighter, although they were still separated by the duvet fortunately. I heard someone clearing their throat from the doorway and cursed knowing that another person was entering this situation.

Of course the worst person possible was stood in the doorway was watching the scene with a shocked and horrified expression.

"Um, son?" Lincoln's dad couldn't seem to take his eyes off us.

"Lincoln." I hissed and elbowed him when he didn't hear his father.

"What?" He sighed before looking over at me. "I'm trying to get Wyatt off."

I nodded my head towards Andrew and Lincoln looked over before his eyes popped out of his head. He gained the strength to shove Wyatt off him only so that he landed on me instead.

Wyatt was laying on top of me his face only a few inches away. I forced my head back into the pillow to create more distance.

"I'm proud of you too." He smiled before hugging me.

"Fucking hell." I mumbled. "I can't believe my life."

Lincoln jumped out of the bed which only increased Andrew's shock when he discovered that Lincoln was naked. Lincoln grabbed his pillow to cover himself.

"I can explain." Lincoln swallowed harshly.

Andrew released a long breath. "God I hope so."

"Who jumps on someone while they're having sex?" Cora rolled her eyes once Wyatt finished reciting the story, it took a while considering Wyatt couldn't stop laughing.

"Right?" I said leaning back into the chair. "It's not something people do."

"If he jumped on Cora while we're having sex I'd kill him." Cole glared at Wyatt in warning.

"In my defense, they had stopped having sex when I jumped on him." Wyatt explained but I still shook my head.

"We only stopped because you walked in." I pointed out.

"I wish I could've seen dad's face." Victoria mused.

"It was great." Wyatt chuckled. "He's scarred for life."

"I am." Andrew said as he walked into the room with a red faced Lincoln.

I smiled at him reassuringly. Lincoln gave me a small smile back and sat down on the sofa rather than with me. I frowned slightly but understood that he was feeling uncomfortable at the moment.

"Wyatt, I'm telling your dad about this." Lincoln's dad announced.

Wyatt's face dropped. "What? No, no, no. You can't do that to me."

"It's only fair." Andrew told him. "You left the door open and let me walk in which embarrassed Lincoln, so I'll embarrass you."

I smirked and stifled a laugh as did Cora. This was perfect revenge.

"And since your mother has trusted me to take care of you I will be telling you mum too Milo." Andrew looked over to me.

My stomach dropped and I stared at him with wide eyes but couldn't form a coherent sentence.

"Dad no, you can't do that." Lincoln stood up.

"I'm taking care of her son, she needs to know what is happening." He countered. "She may not want her son sharing a room with you anymore."

"Exactly!" Lincoln exclaimed. "You can't tell her or she'll make him move, she might even make him live at someone else's house."

"She has trusted me to take care of him, I can't keep things from her." Andrew's tone suggested that Lincoln should stop arguing.

She's going to be furious. She'll make me live with Leslie for real this time. Lincoln sighed and walked over to me and sat down on the arm of the chair. He leaned in and kissed my head.

"Even if she makes me live with someone else there's nothing for you to worry about." I told Lincoln in a quiet voice so that no one else could hear.

"Okay." Lincoln nodded and rested his head on top of mine.

I watched as Andrew pulled out his phone and dialed my mum. I didn't realize that he meant he had to tell her right now. I glanced at the clock on the wall, it's probably about nine at night their so she'll answer.

"Hi Gianna." Andrew spoke into the phone.

"See if you can hear what she's saying." I whispered to Lincoln. He nodded and stared directly at the phone.

"I just wanted to say- what's wrong?" I frowned at Andrew's words.

Andrew turned to look at me at the same time Lincoln's body tensed. Andrew's face dropped.

"Oh." Andrew mumbled. "Is he going to be okay?"

I sat up straight and stared at him urgently, I wish I could hear what my mum was saying. I noticed Cora and Wyatt glance at each other in concern while Cole watched with furrowed eyebrows.

I turned to look at Lincoln only to see that his eyes were glazed over as he mindlinked someone. As soon as they returned to normal Cora, Cole and Wyatt got up and left the room which only added to my concern.

"Well I'll let Milo know and call me with any news." Lincoln's dad spoke with a frown. "Oh, it's not important anymore don't worry. I was just calling to check up on you that's all."

Once the call ended Lincoln placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed it gently.

"What's happened?" I spoke urgently.

Had he died? Nonno's died hasn't he?

"Your grandfather has been taken to hospital." Andrew explained.

"Is he going to be okay?" I spoke concerned.

When no one spoke for a few moments I felt my eyes water.

"Oh god he's dying isn't he?" My chest tightened as I stared at Andrew pleadingly.

"They've only just taken him there, they don't know what's wrong yet." Andrew told me. "It could be nothing."

He sounded unsure, he just wanted to reassure me but it wasn't working. 'It could be nothing' also means 'It could be serious'.

"Shit." I sighed dropping my head into my hands.

Lincoln leaned in and wrapped his arms around me and we stayed like this.

"Lincoln I forgot to tell you that your grandmother's are coming to visit tomorrow since they missed Christmas." Andrew spoke suddenly.

I glanced up at him aware that I had tears streaking down my face, I narrowed my eyes slightly at him.

"Sorry, we were talking about grandparents so I thought-" He stopped talking when Lincoln growled lowly. "Right, bad timing sorry."

We both watched as he left the room before returning to our hug. Lincoln's grandmother's were supposed to come here on Christmas but they went on a last minute holiday to Mexico. Lincoln still hadn't told them about me, he says that he wants to surprise them but I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or if he's scared that they're not going to accept us.

"Let's go upstairs, so we can be in private." Lincoln suggested pulling me out of the armchair.

In any other scenario I would've taken this to be a suggestive sentence but I knew that it wasn't. Even if we didn't get to finish what we started earlier.

"Lincoln!" Andrew called from downstairs. "Your grandmother's are here!"

I continued brushing my teeth as Lincoln groaned and stirred in the bed.

"Lincoln wake up." I told him after spitting the toothpaste in the sink.

"No." He grumbled turning so that his face was buried in my pillow.

"Your grandmothers arrived five minutes ago." I explained moving over so that I was sat on the end of the bed.

I had most of my weight on my leg now but I kept the crutches just in case I felt like I needed them.

"Fine." He sat up and gave me a soft smile. "Are you feeling better today?"

I nodded. Nonno was still in hospital but my mum had been sending texts to me throughout the night keeping me updated. He had gotten a lung infection but was responding well to medicine, he was now awake and eating again.

I would read every message the moment it was sent so that I would know if anything went wrong, which means I hardly slept last night and by the look of Lincoln neither did he.

"A lot better." I smiled. "Thank you."

He stood up from the bed and grabbed some clothes for the day. "Don't thank me, I didn't do anything."

"You were there for me." I explained.

He looked over to me as he got dressed. "Because you're always there for me."

I smiled and stood up once he finished getting ready. Lincoln had had two sessions with the therapist so far and he told me they were helping. Once he got back from the second session we had a discussion about what the therapist suggested and how I could help.

Lincoln explained that the therapist wanted Lincoln to spend time away from me so that he could start to worry less when we were apart. She told him to start with him leaving for a small amount of time, I was meant to stay at home during this because Lincoln had admitted that it was more concerning when I left him rather than when he leaves me.

We would work up to me going out without him for extended periods of time. Until then Lincoln and I would spend most of our time together.

Once we got downstairs everyone was already in the living room. I noticed two older women stood beside Andrew and Bella, Lincoln's face brightened and he walked over to them while I walked over to where Wyatt, Lucy, Cole and Cora were all sat.

"You're here early." I noted as I looked at Lucy.

She nodded with a smile. "Wyatt told me to come over early because family was visiting, I had expected it to be his family not Lincoln's so I'm not sure why I'm here anymore."

I chuckled as Wyatt rolled his eyes.

"They're still my family." Wyatt insisted.

"They're going to be here for a few days, Lucy didn't need to get here this early." Cora pointed out.

"Well, you know what-" Wyatt sighed. "Maybe I just wanted to see my mate, all of you have your mate living with you while Lucy doesn't. I like seeing her when I first wake up so leave me alone."

"Aw." Lucy cooed as she pulled him into a hug.

Cole made gagging noises. "I couldn't disagree with you more, have you seen Cora first thing in the morning?"

Cora gaped at him. "Cole! Don't be mean."

She pouted while he looked down at her, a soft smile made its way onto his face.

"I'm just joking mate." He told her. "But you have been throwing up in the morning and that's disgusting to wake up to."

She gasped. "I am carrying your child, show me some respect."

He chuckled and pulled her into a sideways hug. She smiled into his shoulder and returned the hug.

"What is this I here about children?" One of Lincoln's grandmother's ask suddenly.

Cora pulled away from Cole and looked to see both of the grandmothers watching us.

"I'm pregnant." Cora announced with a grin.

Their faces brightened and one of them clapped in excitement.

"Congratulations hun." One rushed over to her pulling her into a hug.

The other grandmother, who was taller and looked slightly younger, just stood back with a smile.

They spoke about Cora and Cole's baby for a few minutes until Victoria ran in and pulled them both into a hug.

"It's lovely to see you again dear." The shorter grandmother in a floral dress told Victoria.

"Would've been better if we could actually see your face beneath all that makeup." The taller woman smirked.

Lincoln laughed with a wide smile. "Well that's a rare sight nowadays Gran."

"Shut up Lincoln." Victoria glared at him.

"Don't listen to them dear, you look beautiful." The shorter grandmother spoke with a warm smile.

"Now that we're done with introductions, have either of you met your mate yet?" The one Lincoln called Gran spoke as she crossed her arms.

Lincoln glanced over at me and opened his mouth to talk but Victoria beat him to it.

"You haven't met Milo yet?" Victoria gestured to me.

I felt the nerves build in my chest as they both turned to look at me seemingly only just noticing my presence. They stared at me, the shorter woman had a gentle expression while the taller woman scrutinized me.

"He's human?" The taller woman spoke confused.

I smiled awkwardly. "Uh, yes?"

"Oh, he's adorable!" The shorter woman exclaimed as she rushed other to me, I stood up as she reached me allowing her to pull me into a hug.

"Victoria, you have a human mate?" The taller asked with a frown.

Victoria's face scrunched up as did mine. "What? No, that's Lincoln's mate not mine."

I could hear Wyatt laughing at the awkward conversation but I chose not to look over at him. Lincoln watched his grandmothers with fear.

"That makes so much more sense." The taller one mumbled. "There's no way Victoria could've handed a human."

The woman who had tightened the hug laughed. "I know, she would've scared him away."

She finally pulled away from the hug and took a step back to look at me.

"He's tall, look's strong for a human." The taller woman said as she walked towards me.

"Cute face, means cute great-grandchildren." The shorter woman nodded.

The taller woman hummed and circled me before standing beside the other grandmother. She turned her head to Lincoln who was watching the exchange nervously while I was terrified.

"I approve." The taller one nodded.

A smile spread across Lincoln's face he walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, he kissed my cheek before looking at his grandmothers.

"Good." Lincoln spoke happily. "Not that your opinion would have changed anything."

"That's what we like to hear." The shorter grandmother smiled.
