Chapter Thirty Five - Jealous
Milo's P.O.V -
I was woken from my nap by my phone ringing.
"Who is that?" Lincoln groaned from beside me.
I didn't answer sitting up while grabbing my phone, I answered it without looking at the name.
"Hello?" I yawned.
"Hey, can I come over?" Whoever was on the other side of the phone asked.
"Who is this?" I mumbled.
The person laughed. "Wow, forgotten me already have you?" I finally woke up enough to recognize the voice.
"Nate?" I frowned in confusion.
"Yeah, it's me." He replied. "I heard what happened, can I come over?"
I glanced over at Lincoln who was watching me curiously. He won't care right?
"Yeah sure." I answered.
"Alright great." He said through the phone.
"See you soon." I said before hanging up the phone.
I laid back down resting my head on Lincoln's chest.
"Who was that?" He whispered obviously still tired.
"Nate." I mumbled. "He's coming to see me."
"I don't know who that is." Lincoln mumbled.
"Yeah you do." I told him. "You met when he was really drunk and throwing up, he compared you to Abraham Lincoln."
"You mean your ex boyfriend?" I could here a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Yeah." I spoke nervously.
He sat up so that my head fell off of him. He looked down at me angry.
"Your ex boyfriend is coming over?" He spoke in disbelief.
"Lincoln." I sighed. "It's fine."
"You could've asked me how I felt." Lincoln grumbled standing up.
"Where are you going?" I sat up watching him.
"To the bathroom." He sighed walking out of the bedroom.
I sat silent for a moment before realizing I had to get changed. I was only in my underwear after what Lincoln and I did earlier.
My crutches were unfortunately downstairs so I had no way of getting to my wardrobe. I mean I guess I could crawl, or shuffle across the ground?
I decided against both options and instead relied on leaning on the furniture. I stood up supporting myself on the bed hopping until I reached the dresser. I was slightly breathless considering how weak my lungs were at the moment.
I struggled to pull out the drawer as I couldn't step away properly. I managed to open it enough to pull out a pair of shorts.
"What are you doing?" Lincoln asked from the doorway.
"I have to get dressed, I'd assume you'd be even more mad if Nate saw me like this." I told him trying to hop towards my wardrobe so that I could get a top.
"Stop you might fall and hurt yourself." He said walking towards me.
He picked me up carrying me back to my bed placing me down gently. He turned and walked over to the wardrobe opening it and looking in.
"What do you want?" He didn't even look at me as he spoke.
"Anything, I don't mind." I shrugged pulling my shorts on.
"Okay." A small smirk spread across his lips.
He tugged of his hoodie tossing it towards me, he had a t shirt on underneath.
"Really?" I caught it before raising a brow at Lincoln. "You are this insecure about my ex being here that you have to prove a point by having me where your clothes."
"I'm not insecure." He insisted. "He just needs to know you're mine."
I laughed lightly but this only made him more annoyed.
"I'm sorry." I apologized. "But Lincoln you have nothing to worry about."
I pulled on his hoodie which was slightly too large but this made it more comfortable.
"Happy?" I asked rolling the sleeves so that they were the right length.
"Far from it." He mumbled. "I'll go get your crutches."
I had no time to speak before he left the room. It was five minutes before he returned handing them to me.
"That took you a while." I commented.
"Yeah." He nodded. "Nate turned up."
I noticed that Nate was stood in the doorway looking between the two of us.
"Hi." I greeted him.
"Hey." He walked over sitting beside me on the bed.
Lincoln glared at him but didn't say anything.
"How are you?" Nate spoke with concern.
"I'm actually doing quite well." I spoke honestly.
"No thanks to you." Lincoln mumbled from a few meters away.
I frowned at him. "Lincoln."
"What?" He crossed his arms. "It's true, you was in the ICU for days and he only turns up now that your home."
"Milo." Nate got my attention. "I didn't want to turn up at the hospital because I wasn't sure where we stood, so when Lucy said you were home I figure this meant you were well enough for me to contact you without causing a disturbance. I had Lucy telling me how you were all the time."
"Bullshit." Lincoln spoke under his breath.
I glared at him. "Keep this up and I'll kick you out."
Lincoln matched my expression choosing not to speak.
"I get why you didn't visit and I appreciate that, I didn't want a lot of people around at the time." I told him.
A victorious smirk spread across his face as his eyes flickered to Lincoln.
"Fuck this." Lincoln whispered before storming out of the room.
I sighed watching him leave, we were definitely going to argue about this later.
"What's his problem?" Nate frowned.
"He's a bit jealous." I explained.
"A bit?" He laughed. "Must be a change, I was never the jealous type."
"It would be very hypocritical if you were." I joked.
He smiled. "Yeah, I'm sorry about cheating on you. I was a huge dick."
"Yeah you were." I nodded. "But I've forgiven you."
"I wouldn't forgive me." He scoffed. "I completely betrayed you and broke your trust."
"I've moved on." I shrugged. "Well obviously I have if I'm dating Lincoln."
"I'm actually dating someone too." He announced.
"Really?" I spoke surprised. "Who?"
He became nervous. "Connor."
"The guy you cheated on me with?" He nodded at my question. "Well at least something good came from you cheating on me."
He ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, I hope you know that I really like Connor. That I didn't cheat on you for a meaningless hookup, I just didn't have the courage to break up with you so I made the mistake of going behind your back."
I smiled. "That's good, it's a relief. At first I thought I wasn't good enough and that's why you did it."
He shook his head instantly. "You were perfect, a great boyfriend. I think at the time we were what each other needed, we were both in bad places with my parents getting divorced and your sister dying so we seemed to understand each other. Then when we started to move on from the things that made us so depressed we no longer had much in common and that's when I started to develop feelings for Connor."
"The relationship was going to end soon whether you cheated on me or not." I agreed.
We sat in silence for a few minutes.
"I'm also sorry for causing an argument between you and Lincoln." He told me.
"It's fine." I sighed. "The argument will probably be resolved before tonight."
"I bet it will be." He winked. "You do have the best way of resolving arguments."
I knew what he was talking about by his suggestive tone. "Shut up." I flushed in embarrassment.
"Well." He stood up from the bed. "I should probably get going, I've caused enough trouble between you and your boyfriend already. He'll probably get more mad each minute I'm up here."
I laughed. "Probably."
He was about to walk out when I spoke.
"Thank you for apologizing, it means a lot." I smiled. "It's nice that we can be friends now."
"Friends." He grinned. "I like that."
He left the room before I could say anything further.
It wasn't long until Lincoln entered the room his hands clenched in fists so that his knuckles were white.
"I'm really fucking mad." He growled.
"I can tell." I spoke in a bored tone.
"I don't like you talking to him." He started.
"Lincoln." I sighed looking him dead in the eye.
"Don't talk, just listen." He ordered.
I nodded slowly waiting for him to continue.
"Do you know how angry it makes me to see you with him? You were chatting like best friends, flirting even." He gritted out. "I have to watch and be reminded that this guy means more to you than me, that you loved him for two fucking years. I'm jealous that he has done things with you that we haven't and that he got your devotion for so much longer than me. Sure you're mine now but I will always know that you was his first and I fucking hate that, because I love you so much that I can't stand the thought of you leaving me for anyone. Especially your ex."
I held back a smile knowing this would annoy him. "Can I talk now?"
He let out a deep shaky breath. "Fine."
"I love you." I spoke softly. "And there is no one in this world who can take me from you."
"But that's not true." He frowned moving to sit on the bed where Nate had been sat. "The hunters almost took you from me, so did your Dad."
"Lincoln are you okay?" I spoke seriously. "I think everything that's happened has really effected you but you won't admit it."
"I'm fine as long as you're safe." He reached forward placing his hand on my cheek.
"Okay." I spoke quietly.
I didn't believe him, he's changed recently and seems overly protective of me.

My phone began to ring at around ten o'clock, Lincoln and I were both asleep in my bed. I picked up my phone seeing that it was Lucy, I silenced the call before it could wake up Lincoln.
I picked up my crutches from the floor before making my way out of the room. Once I closed the door I answered the phone.
"Hello?" I croaked.
"Were you asleep? It's ten." Lucy spoke fully awake.
"The pain killers make me tired." I grumbled.
My throat was slightly dry so I decided to go downstairs. I didn't hold my phone to my ear on the way down as I had to use my crutches so I couldn't hear anything Lucy was saying until I reached the kitchen.
"What were you saying?" I asked her.
"Wyatt and I are on our way over." She told me.
I frowned. "Why?"
"Your mum said we could have a sleepover." She sounded excited. "We're pulling into the driveway now."
I could hear their car before there was a knock on the door. I walked over answering it. Lucy was grinning at me and pulled me into a hug, Wyatt was stood a few feet behind her with a slightly grumpy expression.
"I'm so glad they let you out of the hospital." She said as we walked into the living room.
"Yeah, same." I nodded.
Wyatt walked past us flopping onto the couch with a huff.
"I'm going to get some food." She said quickly heading towards the kitchen.
I watched her walk out before turning to Wyatt.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked him.
He shrugged. "I thought when Lucy said we were having a sleepover that she meant that we would be alone."
I laughed. "Oh, did someone think they were going to have sex tonight?"
"Shut up." He mumbled. "I know how lacking your sex life is."
I rolled my eyes. "At least I'm not sulking about it."
There was a smash from the kitchen.
"Sorry." Lucy called. "I dropped a glass."
The concerned expression on Wyatt's face disappeared until we heard footsteps thundering down the stairs.
"Milo?" Lincoln called out his voice was full of urgency.
He burst into the room looking around with wide eyes, his eyes met mine and he relaxed but still remained alert.
"Thank god." He sighed walking towards me.
"Are you okay?" I asked him worried.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He answered once he reached me. "I had a nightmare and then when I woke up there was a smash and you weren't there."
"I'm okay." I told him. "Safe and healthy."
His breath was still rapid, he reached forward picking me up and sitting in the chair so that I was now in his lap. He buried his head into my neck taking deep breaths.
"I think I panicked a little." He mumbled pulling me tighter into him.
I smiled. "I think so."
I noticed the frown on Wyatt's face as he looked at Lincoln, I raised a brow at him curiously but he just shook his head and looked towards Lucy as she walked into the room.
"I cleaned up the glass." She told me.
"Thanks." I said as she lifted Wyatt's head off the couch so she could sit down before letting his head rest in her lap.
"Let's watch a movie." Lucy suggested grabbing the remote.
