Chapter Thirty Four - Home

Milo's P.O.V -

I've been in the ICU for five days now or at least that's what my mum tells me. They've finally taken me off the breathing tube, once they realized that I am able to breath on my own.

They only took out the tube last night so only my mum knows. I'm looking forward to Lincoln finding out I can talk to him now rather than writing everything down. They moved me out of the ICU and into one of the private recovery rooms.

My mum was sat beside me reading a book she had started during my time in hospital. She had been reading it to me but when I started to write I told her I found the book boring so she stopped and started playing me music instead. The music was also bad but I didn't have the heart to tell her.

My mum's phone rang suddenly and I picked it up noticing that it was Lincoln. I pondered over whether I should answer it or give it to my mum. I decided on the latter that way I can see his reaction in person.

I tapped my mum on the arm before answering the phone and putting the phone on speaker.

"Hello?" My mum spoke softly.

"Hey um, where is Milo?" Lincoln asked as soon as I answered the phone. "I went to the ICU and the nurse said they moved him."

"Yeah, they did." My mum told him putting the bookmark in her book. "He's on the second floor now."

"Why is he there?" Lincoln questioned confused.

"They said he's been doing so well that he's ready to be moved." My mum explained.

"But he's still on a ventilator. I thought that meant he had to stay in the ICU?" Lincoln mumbled.

"Lincoln I'm not a doctor so I don't know." My mum smiled amused looking over at me. "I'll come down to the ICU and take you to his new room."

My mum walked out of the room going to look for him returning about five minutes later.

"He's in here." She said as she opened the door letting Lincoln in.

His eyes widened as he looked at me, I just smiled at him in response.

"They took you off the breathing thing." He spoke astonished as he walked over to me.

"Yeah." I breathed out, my throat was slightly sore so I wasn't planning on talking too much.

He grinned sitting on the edge of my bed. "I've missed your voice."

"I'm going to get a coffee from the café." My mum said. "Lincoln do you want anything?"

"Uh." He thought for a moment. "Can you get me some water please?"

She nodded walking out. Lincoln looked down biting his lip, I noticed some tears falling onto his lap.

"What's wrong?" I asked reaching out to touch his hands.

"Nothing." He shook his head looking up at me with watery eyes. "I'm just really happy that you're okay."

"I love you." I smiled at him.

"I love you too." He grinned not bothering to wipe his eyes.

After a total of fourteen days in hospital they finally let me go home. My mum had to go back to work, since she has taken so much time off, so Lincoln was taking me home.

"I don't see why I'm in a wheelchair. If I'm healthy enough to go home and walk around there then why aren't I healthy enough to walk to the car?" I asked confused as Lincoln wheeled me down the halls and into an elevator.

"I don't know." He shrugged. "So you don't hurt yourself during the journey and spend more time taking up a hospital bed."

"Maybe." I mumbled. "How far behind am I on school?"

"Uh about as behind as me." Lincoln replied.

"I doubt that, you already know half the stuff they teach." I told him. "I on the other hand will be lucky if I graduate."

"You will." He said as we reached the entrance of the hospital.

He wheeled me through the car park and to his car where he helped me into the passenger seat. He left briefly to give the wheelchair back before climbing into the driver's seat.

"Have you got my crutches?" I asked turning to look at the backseat of the car.

"Yeah, they're in the trunk." He said starting the car.

I nodded facing forward again before leaning my head against the window. Lincoln glanced at me briefly before focusing on driving.

"Are you tired?" He questioned.

"A bit." My words were followed by a yawn.

"You seem a lot better leaving the hospital this time than you did last time." Lincoln pointed out.

"Well that's because I had more injuries last time." I countered.

"Yeah but this time you got shot and your lung collapsed." Lincoln stated the obvious.

"I don't know." I muttered. "Maybe I'm more used to the feeling this time."

Lincoln growled lowly. "You shouldn't be used to it."

I hummed in response. "Or maybe my pain meds are stronger this time so I don't feel it as much."

"Yeah that sounds more likely." Lincoln agreed.

There was a comfortable silence for the rest of the journey. We soon reached my house.

"Can you pass my crutches?" I asked opening the passenger door.

"I could carry you if that's easier." Lincoln offered.

I noticed my nosy neighbors looking through their window at us.

"No the crutches will be fine." I told him.

He nodded going to the back of the car to retrieve them before handing them to me. I stood up slowly before making my way towards the house.

Lincoln pulls the key my mother had temporarily given him from his pocket opening the door. As soon as I stepped inside the house Buddy sprung up and ran towards me, charging into my legs. I would've fallen if it wasn't for Lincoln wrapping a supportive arm around my waist.

"I've missed you too Buddy." I smiled stroking his head as he wagged his tail. "Has mum been taking you on walks?"

"I have actually." Lincoln told me. "Your Mum didn't have time so I offered to do it."

I frowned in confusion. "But he hates you?"

"Yeah that was a problem at first." Lincoln laughed. "But he tolerates me now."

I smiled down at Buddy noticing that he wasn't tense like he usually was around Lincoln.

"But just because your dog doesn't hate me does not mean we can get a dog in the future." Lincoln explained as we walked over to the couch.

"What? Why?" I asked sitting down.

"Dog's don't like me, so I don't like them." He shrugged.

"You don't like dogs?" I deadpanned. "I think this relationship is over."

He rolled his eyes. "Don't joke about that."

"Sorry." I smiled. "But what if in the future I really want a dog, or what if our kids want a dog?"

"Well why can't our kids just play with my wolf instead?" He crossed his arms.

"Because they want a little puppy." I commented. "And you're massive."

"I don't know if that's an insult or not." He frowned. "Well if they really want one then I guess they can."

"You're going to be such a soft parent." I laughed.

"But that means I'll be their favorite." He smiled.

"Oh?" I raised a brow. "So I have to be the strict parent then?"

Lincoln shook his head. "No, our kids will be perfect little angels. They won't need to be told off."

"Well you can live in that little fantasy until we have them then." I said leaning into him. "They're going to be monsters, especially if they're anything like me as a kid."

"Were you a bad kid?" Lincoln asked softly.

"Yeah." I nodded. "My ADHD was quite strong which basically meant I threw a tantrum absolutely everywhere  and I never went to sleep."

"Great so we have that to look forward to." Lincoln mumbled.

"Only if the kid actually has ADHD." I countered. "When we adopt them, they probably won't."

"Is ADHD even genetic?" Lincoln questioned.

"It tends to run in families." I answered.

"And who says we're adopting our kids anyway?" Lincoln rested his head on my shoulder.

"Uh since we can't have them on our own." I rolled my eyes.

"Well I have to have a biological child so that they can have the alpha gene." He told me.

"So surrogacy then?" I said resting my head on top of his.

"Yeah." He agreed. "At least for the first child."

"I want to adopt at least one kid." I mumbled. "I always like the idea of giving a kid in need a home."

"Oh so in your head how many kids are we having?" I could hear the amusement in his voice.

"Not too many." I mumbled. "Two or three."

"So." Lincoln spoke slowly. "My biological kid, your biological kid and then an adopted kid?"

"Not necessarily in that order but yeah, that sounds nice." I agreed.

"And what genders?" Lincoln asked.

"Well we can't chose, well we might be able to for the adopted one." I spoke amused.

"If you could, what would you want?" Lincoln lifted his head to look at me.

"I honestly don't care." I told him.

"I want at least one girl and one boy." Lincoln explained.

"Yeah." I yawned resting my head on the back of the couch.

"You look tired." Lincoln stated. "How about we go upstairs and take a nap?"

I nodded reaching for my crutches but Lincoln lifted me instead.

"What are you-"

Lincoln cut me off. "You're tired, and it takes you ages to go anywhere so this is easier."

"But I'm heavy." I protested as he began to walk towards the stairs.

"No you're not." He laughed.

"Just because you're strong." I mumbled.

He reached my room laying me down on the bed. He kicked off his shoes before climbing into the bed beside me.

He pulled me towards him so that my back was against his chest. I felt so close to him and I became fully aware that we were home alone. My mind wandered to fantasies of what Lincoln and I could do right now. I groaned quietly as my pants tightened.

"What's wrong?" Lincoln lifted his head looking at me.

"Huh?" I mumbled confused. "Oh nothing."

"Tell me." He urged.

"I was just a bit-" I paused for a moment. "Turned on."

I watched the smirk spread across his face. "Oh really?" He raised a brow. "From just laying beside me, am I that attractive?"

"You know you are." I huffed. "And it's probably just because I haven't had sex in several weeks."

"Oh poor you." Lincoln spoke sarcastically. "I haven't had sex in eighteen years."

"By choice!" I exclaimed. "You won't have sex with me."

"I was about to." Lincoln stated. "But you got shot so that means we need to wait a while."

"Ugh." I turned over to face him. "Can't we just do it now?"

"How romantic." Lincoln smiled. "No, you need some time to heal."

"No." I whined. "I don't."

"Fine, then I need time." Lincoln told me.

"I can't argue with you about that." I pouted slightly.

"That's why I said it." He smiled kissing my cheek. "In the meantime, I can do something else to fix your current situation."

"Oh really?" I smirked at him turning to lay on my back. "And what would that be?"

"How about I show you?" He whispered swinging his leg over me so that they were either side of my hips.

"Well this position suggests that we are gonna do what I want." I laughed lightly.

He rolled his eyes before sliding down my body so that his head hovered over my waist.

"Ooh okay." I propped myself up on my elbows so that I could watch him.

"Is this okay?" Lincoln asked cautiously.

"Is that a serious question?" I raised a brow.

Lincoln laughed before tugging my pants down.
