Chapter Thirty One - Milo's Dad

*Strong Language*

Lincoln's  P.O.V -

I slowly opened my eyes, my vision was still blurry from how tired I was. I wrapped my arm around Milo placing a quick kiss on his lips before sitting up and rubbing my eyes.

"What the hell?" A voice grumbled.

I looked at the person beside me immediately realizing that it wasn't Milo.

"Wyatt? What are you doing here?" I stared at him with wide eyes.

"Why did you kiss me?" Wyatt sat up wiping his mouth.

"I thought you were Milo!" I exclaimed standing up to get further away from him. "Where is he?"

"Lucy and I had an argument so Milo offered to switch beds." He explained.

"What time was this?" I asked.

"About three." Wyatt replied.

"Why was Milo up so late?" I frowned.

"I don't know." He shrugged. "He didn't say."

"I'll go find him." I walked towards the door.

"I'll come with." Wyatt stood up from the bed. "I want to see what Milo says about you kissing me."

"Oh shut up." I shoved him away from me.

"No but I actually should talk to Lucy." Wyatt explains.

I nodded. "Are you still mad?"

He shook his head. "I just needed some time to cool off and think about it. It was an accident, she didn't mean to offend me. Plus I know she feels bad about it."

"How very uncharacteristically mature of you." I smirked at him.

"Ha ha." He deadpanned as we reached his bedroom.

He knocked on the door lightly before stepping into the room. "Oh." He mumbled as I followed him in.

They weren't in the bed and instead I assumed they were sleeping in a fort they had built. I smiled crouching down and looking through the entrance.

"They're still asleep." I whispered to Wyatt.

He kneeled down beside me reaching out to shake Lucy lightly. "Lucy, wake up."

"Hmm?" She hummed lifting her head in our direction. "What?"

"Time to get up." Wyatt told her softly. "We all have school to go to."

"No." She groaned dropping her head back onto the pillow.

"Come on." Wyatt shook her again. "I want to talk to you before you have to go home and get ready."

"Fine." She sat up looking at Wyatt nervously, she obviously didn't want the two of them to have another argument.

She exited the fort and waited near where Wyatt was now stood. He gripped her hand and smiled at her, I could see her begin to relax instantly. He guided her out of the room leaving Milo and I alone.

I crawled into the tent of blankets moving so that I was laying where Lucy had been. I threw an arm over Milo pulling him towards me.

"Good morning." I mumbled into his ear.

"Morning Lincoln." He spoke roughly.

"I was disappointed when I didn't get the pleasure of waking up next to you." I confessed.

"At least you had Wyatt keeping you company." He commented.

I scoffed. "When I woke up I thought he was you so I kissed him."

As soon as I said that I regretted it, I wasn't sure what Milo would say to that and I was anxious to find out. However, the weight was lifted of my chest when he let out a laugh before turning in my arms to look at me with bright eyes.

"Cheating on me already?" He joked.

"Never." I spoke in a light, but partially serious, tone.

Milo smiled leaning his head towards me. "Is he a better kisser than me?" He whispered.

I pretended to think for a moment. "I'm not sure, I might need a reminder of what kissing you is like."

Milo laughed for a moment before pressing his lips on mine.

"Mum I'm home." Milo announced as he entered his house.

We had just finished our day at school and Milo had invited me around his house.

"How was your day?" She asked appearing from the kitchen doorway.

"Fine." Milo told her as he sat down on the couch.

I took his crutches and rested them against the wall before sitting down next to him.

"That's nice." She said before looking at me. "What about you Lincoln?"

"Oh it was good." I told her. "But I had a pop quiz this morning which wasn't great."

"How do you think you did?" She spoke curiously.

"Okay." I shrugged. "I normally pass biology tests."

"He's being modest." Milo interrupted. "He's a straight A student."

Gianna looked at me impressed. "Wow, well done Lincoln."

"Thank you." I spoke awkwardly.

"Milo, I was hoping that you were going to invite Lucy round. I needed to speak with the two of you." Milo's Mum said crossing her arms.

"What about?" He asked leaning back into the couch.

"We need to go to Italy for Uncle Roberto's wedding." She told him. "I thought you could ask Lucy to come."

I frowned looking down at my lap beginning to fiddle with my hands.

"Yeah, I'll ask her." He nods. "When is it?"

"December." She explained. "We'll be going about halfway through the month."

"Will you be back for Christmas?" I asked hopefully.

"I'm not sure yet." Gianna explained. "It depends on Lucy's parents, I'm not sure if they'll let her fly back on her own so that we can stay for the holiday."

"I'm sure they will." Milo told his mum.

"Another thing." Gianna stated. "Milo I want you to go and see your father."

Milo's eyes widened and his hand shook slightly which confused me.

"W-what? Why?" He stuttered.

"Because you haven't seen him since you've been back and he's worried about you."

"N-no, I don't want." He spoke shakily.

"Don't be ridiculous Milo it's your father and you haven't seen him in weeks." Gianna insisted. "I want you to go see him today and then you will stay at his house for the weekend. If you are healthy enough to sleep at your boyfriends house then you are healthy enough to sleep at you father's house."

Without saying anything else Gianna turned and walked into the kitchen.

"Now Milo." She called when he didn't say anything.

He nodded slowly standing on one leg waiting for me to get the crutches for him. I jumped up handing them to him.

"What wrong?" I spoke quietly so that his mum wouldn't hear.

"Nothing!" He snapped suddenly.

"Okay." I mumbled confused at his outburst. "I'm sorry."

He sighed not saying anything as we left the house and got back into my car. Most of the journey was silent and Milo would simply point in the direction of where I should turn.

The nearer we got to his house the more his breath sped up. I was about to turn around and go back to his house when Milo spoke up.

"Stop this is it." He announced not taking his eyes of the house.

I looked at the vaguely familiar building reminding me that I have been here before with Oliver. Thinking about it I remembered just how homophobic his dad was, I concluded that that was why Milo was so worried. He didn't want to tell his father about us.

"It's okay, I'll be with you the whole time." I gave him a reassuring smile.

He nodded taking a shallow breath before opening the door. I got out of the car bringing him his crutches. I walked beside him as he approached the house slower than usual.

We didn't even manage to reach the house before the door swung open and Milo's dad stepped out his shot gun in his hand.

"Oh it's just you." He chuckled placing his gun down leaning it against the fence before walking closer to Milo.

I noticed Milo tense up and his eyes darkened suddenly. I was slightly confused by his sudden change in mood. He dropped one of his crutches and gripped the other with both hands.

I was about to reach for the other crutch for him when he lifted the one in his hands and swung it at his fathers head. Milo's dad stumbled before falling to the ground and clutching his head.

"What the fuck Milo!" His dad yelled as blood trickled down his face.

I remained frozen to the spot watching the scene with wide eyes. "Milo what was that about?" I asked confused.

"You're a fucking piece of shit." Milo spat out ignoring my question. "You think its fucking okay to rape people?"

My jaw became slack as I waited for Milo's dad to respond. What was Milo talking about?

"What?" His dad gritted out.

"You beat me and raped his mum." Milo pointed over to me.

I growled lowly. Milo's dad is the other hunter?

"Beat you?" His dad frowned. "I beat the alpha's fag."

"That's me you fucking idiot." Milo glared.

Milo's dad's face darkened as he looked between us. He stood up grasping his gun and aiming it at me.

"You!" He shouted at me. "You've converted my son!"

"I didn't do anything." I growled. "It's you who has done shit."

Milo grabbed his crutch from the ground steadying himself, he took a few steps away. His mood has changed from anger to fear. I could feel his emotions through the mark.

"Wolves started all of this." Milo's dad gritted out. "They killed my daughter!"

"So what?" Milo spoke up. "It doesn't mean you rape all the female werewolves."

"My mother had nothing to do with Ana, why should she be punished for it?" I didn't take my eyes of the gun in his hand.

"You have no right to say her name." He hissed at me while cocking his gun.

"Doing this makes you as bad as the people who hurt her." I told him.

"I will kill you for brain washing my son." He took a step forward but I took two back.

I noticed Milo retreating and was a few meters away from me and was relieved he was getting away from this situation.

"No one needs to get killed here." I tried to reason with him.

"You do." He moved his hand over the trigger. "And this bullet is designed to kill people like you."

He tightened his grip on the trigger firing the gun at me. I reacted quickly jumping out of the way.

I thought I must've been too slow because I felt a pain spreading through my chest. I reached my hand over the pain only to find that there wasn't any blood. I frowned in confusion looking back up to Milo's dad but he wasn't looking at me.

He had horror covering his face as he stared past me and that's when it clicked in my head. This wasn't my pain.

I whipped my head around to look where Milo was stood directly behind where I had been he swayed still on his feet his eyes wide in fear. I noticed that his top had a red patch which was growing quickly.

He made eye contact with me before falling backwards. I rushed over to him pulling his head into my lap.

"I'm so sorry." I noticed my tears falling onto his face. "I'm so so sorry."

He stared up at me not saying anything as he struggled to breath. I placed my hands on his wound applying pressure so that he would loose less blood than he already was, it was on the left side of his chest.

"It's not your heart right?" I pleaded. "Please tell me that it didn't get you in the heart."

He continued to gasp for breath as his dad stepped closer to us.

"Stay away from him!" I yelled. "And call an ambulance!"

I could faintly hear him on the phone to the emergency services, he even told them he was the one who shot the gun. He must've felt guilty. I wish I could kill him right now but the police would easily figure out it was me.

I tugged off my shirt quickly pushing it against the injury causing him to groan. Milo was still conscious after a few minutes, I took this as meaning that he in fact hadn't got shot in the heart. I felt a fraction of relief being lifted off me but I was still in a deep panic.

"The ambulance is coming." I told him. "Just stay awake until they get here okay?"

I didn't expect a response at this point but he relaxed in my arms and for a moment I thought he had died but he continued to struggle for breath. A whimper escaped his mouth as he lifted his hand in an attempt to touch his wound but instead he ended up with his hand on top of mine.

By the time the police arrived Milo's breath had got very quiet. Two police officers charged over pinning Milo's father to the ground and handcuffing him while another took over apply pressure to Milo.

The ambulance arrived once the police had Milo's dad handcuffed and in their car. The paramedics rushed over. I moved away to give them space to help him.

Soon enough he was being taken into an ambulance but I wasn't allowed in because they needed the space. So I sat on the grass staring blankly ahead clueless as to what I should do.
