Chapter Thirteen - They Took Her

Milo's P.O.V -

I was woken by crashing and growl coming from downstairs. I jumped up rushing to Lincoln's wardrobe to grab some clothes pulling them on quickly. I ran down stairs seeing everyone gathered.

A black wolf was stood in the middle growling while standing on the now broken coffee table. Wyatt's dad took a step forward before turning into his wolf and pinning it down.

"Dad!" Lincoln shouted at the wolf. "What's happened?"

This wolf must be his Dad. I looked around to see that everyone was as confused as me.

The black wolf turned back but Wyatt's dad remained on top of him as a precaution. Lincoln's dad broke out in a sob surprising me.

"Dad?" Lincoln asked concerned crouching down beside him.

Wyatt's dad stepped off him sitting back and watching him cautiously.

"They took her." He spoke through gritted teeth with tears streaming down his face.

Lincoln stood up and stumbled back he stared at his dad in disbelief for a few moments before turning and running up the stairs.

Wyatt looked at me and nodded his head towards the stairs. I nodded before chasing after Lincoln.

I knocked on the door walking into his bedroom. I spotted Lincoln in the corner his knees pulled to his chest and his head rested on top of them. His body was shaking and I could faintly here him sniffling.

"Lincoln?" I crept over kneeling beside him.

I reached out placing a hand on his shoulder when he didn't reply. He looked up at me, tears pouring from his eyes. I pulled him into a hug letting him soak my shoulder.

"Everything's going to be okay." I tried to reassure him although I still didn't know what was going on.

"No it's not!" He exclaimed his voice shaky. "My mum's been taken."

I tried not to show my shock as I rubbed his back. "We'll get her back."

He just shook his head burying his head further into my neck. "They've done this before."

"They have?" I wasn't exactly sure who 'they' were.

"They did awful things to her." He said. "That's why she was so scared of you. Scared of humans."

"Oh." Was the only response I could think of.

"They beat her. R-raped her." His sobs increased.

I stayed quiet now not wanting to ask anymore questions knowing Lincoln would just get more upset.

Lincoln crawled into my lap his head on my chest, we stayed like this for another ten minutes as I gently rocked us forward and backwards.

There was a knock on the door but Lincoln didn't move and I wasn't sure if I should invite the person in not knowing how Lincoln felt about people seeing him upset.

The door opened slowly and Wyatt popped his head through the doorway looking around before his eyes landed on us. He walked over staring at Lincoln with sad, sympathetic eyes.

"Hey." He spoke gently.

Lincoln lifted his head to look at his friend with a tears still falling. "My dad thinks we should start a plan."

"Now?" He responded weakly.

Wyatt nodded. "While their scent is still fresh."

I glanced at the clock on the wall seeing it was seven o'clock at night. My mum must be worried about where I am by now but it was more important to be here with Lincoln.

Lincoln nodded slowly standing up, he grabbed my hand pulling me up with him. "Can you stay with me?"

I nodded. "I just need to text my mum, so she doesn't worry."

I noticed the pain evident on his face as I brought up my mum. I looked at him apologetically before walking over to the bedside table. I sent a quick message saying I was sleeping over at Lucy's before putting my phone in my pocket.

"Come on." Wyatt told us.

We followed him into a room I've never been to before. It was a large office with a desk on the far wall, and a table covered in maps in the center of the room.

I noticed Lincoln's face to become serious and he straightened his posture upon entering the room. Everyone else was stood around waiting for Lincoln to talk.

"Where was the last place she was seen?" Lincoln began.

For the next hour everyone discussed locations and tactics, the maps were now covered in marking and directions. The entire time I stood beside Lincoln silently not having anything to contribute to the serious meeting.

"Milo?" Lincoln looked at me for the first time in half an hour.

I looked at him dazed having zoned out.

"What do you think?" Lincoln asked.

"I think..." I thought for a moment. "That it's raining."

Lincoln's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at me. "What?"

"I just mean won't that make it harder to track her?" My voice was now quiet as all attention was on me.

Lincoln turned to the window in alarm only just noticing the weather. "I want trackers to be sent out now!"

Cora nodded rushing out the room supposedly to go find them. I watched as Lincoln and Wyatt followed after her with an equal sense of panic. Wyatt's dad, Cameron, remained along with Cora's.

"Well done." Cameron told me with a small smile before walking out with Cora's dad, Lucas.

I stood alone in the office for a few minutes not sure what to do now. I eventually left the room making my way to the living room but there was still no one there.

There was knocking on the front door. I walked over opening it to find Lucy with a worried expression.

"Where have all of you been!" Lucy exclaimed. "I've been messaging you and Wyatt for an hour and neither of you have responded."

"This is a really bad time for you to try and talk to Wyatt." I told her as she pushed past me and into the house.

"Where is he?" She looked around at the empty room poking her head into the kitchen before turning back to me expectantly.

"He just left." I told her. She walked out of the house through the back door.

It was only then that I noticed the crowd of twenty people stood near the entrance of the woods.

"There he is." She walked over to them.

I followed after her, I was repeatedly telling her to go home but she ignored me.

"Wyatt." She called as she neared him.

He turned looking at her with wide eyes. "What are you doing here?" He hissed.

I left the two of them to argue as I walked over to Lincoln. He turned to me with a stoic expression.

"We're all going to head out now, so can you just wait in my room until I get back?" He spoke quickly.

I nodded understanding the urgency. "Good luck."

Almost simultaneously they all turned into wolves running into the woods.

Wyatt glanced to them then back to Lucy. "I've got to go, but Milo will explain everything to you."

He looked at me questioningly, I nodded in response. He ran after everyone else, transforming into his wolf not even stopping his sprint. I noticed that this was the second time I had seen Lincoln or Wyatt in their wolf form but I hadn't taken the time to admire what Lincoln's wolf looked like. He was too far now for me to look at him in detail and soon enough he was out of sight.

"Come on." I told Lucy.

We sat on Lincoln's bed as I explained everything, werewolves, Lincoln's mum and we even found time for me to update her on the Rita situation.

"How's Lincoln doing?" She asked concerned.

"I'm not sure." I shrugged. "He cried but then he was focused on finding her and became very serious."

"Couldn't they just call the police?" She spoke confused.

"I guess they would have to explain why she was taken and that would expose them." I assumed.

We sat around for hours talking and watching movies and eventually the door opened at four AM as Lincoln and Wyatt walked in.

"Hey." I stood up from the bed.

"I'm going to go take a shower." Lincoln mumbled making his way into the bathroom.

I stared after him as he slumped away. Wyatt sighed moving to sit beside Lucy on the bed.

"How is he?" I asked.

"Not good." Wyatt answered. "He's hardly said anything the entire time."

I bit my lip my eyes returning to the closed bathroom door.

"So did you tell Lucy everything?" Wyatt gave Lucy a cautious look.

"I think so." I nodded.

"So um how do you feel about the situation?" I noticed Wyatt had left a significant distance between the two.

"It's exciting." She smiled reaching out and grabbing his hand, I suddenly felt like I was intruding. "I just have some things to do before we can be together."

By that she meant break up with Oliver but she didn't have the heart to say it.

Wyatt nodded in understanding trying his hardest to hold back the grin on his face. "Okay." He stared down at their joint hands excitement filling his eyes.

I rolled my eyes remembering how soppy Lucy is at the start of a relationship and I wasn't prepared to deal with the lovesick puppy act.

"Come on Lucy we have a movie to finish." I told her grabbing the remote.

"Which one?" Wyatt asked curiously kicking of his shoes.

Lucy answered instantly before quickly explaining the plot of the action movie. We were only fifteen minutes in so their wasn't much for her to tell him.

They had moved closer now, both of them were leaning on the backboards. I noticed that their hands would brush every few minutes and a smile would break out on both of their faces. Fortunately, Lincoln had an armchair on the far side of the room. I pulled it near the bed so I could view the TV without having to be so close to them.

After about twenty minutes Lincoln walked out of the bathroom a towel around his waist, he didn't even look at us as he walked into his wardrobe. Wyatt and I exchanged a concerned look while Lucy didn't even seem to notice Lincoln had walked past.

Lincoln walked out a few minutes later and he silently strode towards us and sat in front of me on the floor. Wyatt watched him for a few moments before turning back to the movie.

I leaned forward resting my hand on his shoulder. "Do you want to sit here? I can sit on the floor."

He turned to look at me with dull eyes before nodding slowly. I stood up and took a step to the side. He pulled himself into the chair. I went to sit down but his arms circled my waist pulling me into his lap.

I didn't say anything about how I don't like PDA knowing he needed someone right now. He buried his face into my neck taking deep breaths while I watched the movie.

It was almost six when the movie finished. Lincoln's had fully rested the weight of his head on my shoulder and his arms had become slack around my waist about half an hour ago telling me that he had fallen asleep.

I gently pulled off his hands standing up. Wyatt and Lucy had gotten off the bed, Lucy was stood near the door texting on her phone and Wyatt lingered near the bed inspecting Lincoln.

I nodded my head towards Lincoln then the bed. Wyatt nodded understanding what I meant. He walked around the back of the chair placing his hand underneath Lincoln's arms lifting him up, I grabbed his legs to help Wyatt and we hoisted him onto the bed. He was already dressed for bed so there was no reason to disturb him.

"Call me if you need any help with him." Wyatt whispered.

"Thanks, but I'm sure I'll be fine." I smiled at him.

He nodded walking out, Lucy followed after him.

I looked down at the clothes I was wearing deeming them suitable to sleep in. I pulled the duvet over my self before drifting to sleep.
