Chapter Twelve - The Hangover
Milo's P.O.V -
I groaned clutching my head as the light blinded my eyes. I looked around noticing I was in an unfamiliar room. I hoped there would be a picture on one of the walls to tell me whose house I was in but there was nothing.
I went to climb out of the bed when I noticed I was completely naked. Shit. I searched my memory for why I was here but couldn't find any answers.
I spotted my clothes in a pile on the floor, I grabbed them pulling on the creased clothes as fast as I could.
I heard the water from a shower being turned on it what I assumed was the en suite bathroom. The person in there would most likely have all the answers I needed but once I noticed the condom packet on the bedside table I almost didn't want to know.
I hoped it was Lincoln but I remembered the argument we had last night, meaning this was probably some random guy. So I decided to leave. I took light slow steps towards the door but froze when I saw the red lace bra laying on the floor. Shit, shit, shit.
A girl? Seriously? A girl? Fuck my life.
This was all the information I needed to rush out the house which I eventually figure out was Rita's meaning I had decided not to leave.
I climbed into my car and hit my head against the steering wheel. I pulled my phone out of my pocket looking through my messages to try remember.
'Where are you?'
'Oliver and I have been looking for you?'
'I'm just going to assume you've gone home.'
'I can't fucking believe you.'
These were all the messages I had gotten from Lucy, I stared at the last one confused. What had I done? I then saw I had a couple from Wyatt.
'Have you seen Lincoln? I can't find him.'
'He's not responding to me, is he with you?'
'Nvm, he just messaged me. He went home.'
'You promised Lincoln you wouldn't do that! What the fuck Milo?'
What did I do last night? I've somehow pissed of all of my friends.
I checked my messages with my mum to ensure that I told her where I was sleeping and sighed in relief when I saw that I told her I was going to stay at Rita's. At least she wasn't worried.
I started the car driving to Lucy's house. I saw her car in the driveway telling me she's home. I knocked on the door, her dad opened it and let me in straight away.
I made my way upstairs trying to ignore the pounding in my head. I walked into the room and found Oliver laying on the bed watching a movie.
"There he is!" Oliver grinned. "How's the hangover?"
"Awful." I sighed.
"I don't think I've seen you that drunk before." He smirked.
"Yeah, do you know what happened last night? I can't remember anything after never have I ever." I questioned sitting on the bed next to him.
"Really? You blacked out that early in the night?" He laughed.
Lucy walked out of her bathroom and glared at me.
"Hey." I smiled weakly at her.
She ignored me turning to look at Oliver with a smile. "Can you give me and Milo a couple minutes to talk?"
He nodded slightly confused but chose not to say anything.
"I'm gonna have a shower." He said.
Once he walked into the bathroom and the water was turned on Lucy's glare returned. She's really mad.
"I can't believe you kept something so big from me." She whispered furiously still not wanting Oliver to hear.
"I can't remember-"
"Of course you can't!" She exclaimed. "You should've told me straight away that Lincoln and Wyatt are werewolves."
"Shit." I mumbled. That must be why Wyatt's mad as well. "Wyatt wanted to be the one to tell you, so I promised Lincoln I wouldn't say anything."
"You should've told me." She insisted.
"I felt like it wasn't my secret to tell." I shrugged. "I told Lincoln that if you asked about it I would tell you."
She remained quiet, deep in thought. "How long have you known?"
"Not long." I told her. "Since Wednesday."
She nodded. "Okay." Her voice was a whisper.
"Did he explain everything to you?" I asked.
"If you hadn't drunk so much you would have remembered that I freaked out and left before he could say anything." She spoke quietly.
"You freaked out?" I asked concerned.
She nodded. "Not so much now but at the time I did."
"Have you spoken to Wyatt this morning?" I spoke softly.
"No." She spoke guiltily.
She passed me her phone so I could see the twenty eight miscalls from Wyatt and fifteen texts.
"You should talk to him." I told her.
"I will." She said. "I'm just not sure what to say."
The door opened and Oliver came out in the same clothes as before but his hair was wet now. He was staring down at his phone texting someone.
"I've got to go my mum wants me to be there for breakfast." Oliver explained.
We all exchanged goodbyes and a few minutes late Oliver's mum was waiting out side for him.
"Do you know what happened after that last night?" I asked once he left.
"No, I left with Oli straight after." She answered. "Why?"
I sighed. "I woke up in one of the guest bedrooms in Rita's house, naked with someone."
She gasped with wide eyes. "Who?"
"I don't know." I ran a hand through my hair. "They were in the shower and I just panicked and left."
"Who do you think it was?" She asked.
"I have no idea." I admitted.
"Could it have been Lincoln?" She guessed.
I shook my head. "Wyatt messaged me saying that he went home after Lincoln and I argued. Plus their was a bra on the floor."
"A bra? You had sex with a girl." She spoke in shock.
"I'm kind of hoping it was a drag queen." I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"I think the chances of that are relatively low." She stated the obvious.
My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out and answered the phone.
"Hey where did you go?" Rita asked.
"What do you mean?" I questioned confused.
'Who is it?' Lucy mouthed.
'Rita.' I replied.
'Put it on speaker.' She told me, I did as she said.
"Well you was asleep when I woke up so I went in the shower but when I got back you were gone." She spoke cheerfully.
My eyes widened. Rita. I slept with Rita. I hung up the phone not knowing what to do.
"Holy shit." Lucy muttered.
"Fuck!" I exclaimed standing up and throwing my phone at the bed. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck."
"It's okay." Lucy spoke calmly as she noticed how freaked out I was.
"I can't believe it." I yanked at my hair. "Lincoln's going to be so mad."
"Milo." She reached and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"We were arguing about how I've slept with multiple people and then I go and have sex with my ex!" I exclaimed.
"If it makes you feel any better, I cheated on Oliver last night." Lucy spoke guiltily. "So I know how you feel."
I looked at her with a slack jaw. "W-what?"
"I kissed Wyatt." She admitted. "You walked in on us, that's why you assumed I knew about werewolves."
Everything came rushing back so much so that I had to rub my head soothingly.
I had wobbled up the stairs trying to focus on my feet, and for some reason I currently had six. I need to lie down.
I grasped the nearest door handle and fell through the doorway. I saw two people sitting on the bed making out. My brain wasn't functioning so I stood there aimlessly for a few moments before backing out of the room. However due to my poor coordination I slammed into the wall.
"Milo!" A voice spoke but I didn't know who's.
I looked back to the bed noticing the blurred figures were now far apart. One stood up walking towards me.
"Milo." The voice was softer this time.
I blinked trying my hardest to focus on the person. Lucy.
"Luce?" I continued to blink rapidly.
"Yeah." She nodded with a fake smile.
"Is that Oli?" I looked over to the other person.
"Uh." She hesitated. "That's Wyatt."
"You kissed Wyatt?" I asked, she didn't reply. "So you know they're werewolves now?"
"What?" She frowned.
"They're werewolves." I told her. "Lincoln told me."
She took a step back looking over to Wyatt. "Lucy." He stood up slowly. "I was going to tell you."
"You're a werewolf." She spoke slowly.
I watched the exchange curiously.
"Yes." He admitted. "I was waiting for the right moment. I wanted us to be closer."
She didn't say anything and before I could process what was happening she had vanished.
Wyatt shoved me against the wall before chasing after her.
"I remember." I told her. "Wyatt's probably freaking out."
"I know." She answered. "I just don't want to talk to him before I decide what to do with him and Oliver."
"You're his mate." I told her.
She nodded. "I know, he shouted it out when he chased after me."
"I need to break up with Oliver." Lucy announced after a few minutes of silence.
"I though that's what you'd say." I nodded.
Lucy's face crumbled and her lip wobbled. "But I love Oliver." She began to cry.
I wrapped my arms around her as she cried. I picked her up walking over to the bed placing her down and pulling the duvet over her. Whenever Lucy cries she gets really tired after.
I sat on the edge of the bed rubbing her arm and brushing her hair out of her face while she sobbed.
"I'm such an awful person." She cried.
"You're far from an awful person." I slid into the bed pulling her into a hug. "You made a mistake, everyone makes mistakes."
"Oliver is going to be so mad." She continued.
"Yeah." I agreed. "He will, and you're just going to try your best to apologize."
I continued to talk to her until she eventually fell asleep.
I pulled out my phone calling Wyatt. "What?" He answered the phone.
"I'm sorry." I replied. "I'm sorry I told Lucy."
"She ran away from me, she's ignoring me because of you." He growled.
"I know." I said. "I was so drunk that I forgot everything, I had to get Lucy to explain everything to me."
"Lucy?" He asked. "You're with her? Can I talk to her?"
"She's asleep." I looked over to where Lucy was laying.
"Is she okay?" He spoke pleadingly.
"I think I've interfered enough between you two." I stated. "So I'm going to stay out of it."
"Then why did you call?" He grumbled.
"To apologize." I said. "And to ask if Lincoln's really mad at me?"
"I don't know." He replied. "I haven't spoken to him, I haven't left my room all day."
"Okay thanks anyway." I said.
"Bye." He hung up.

I left Lucy's about half an hour ago and now I was stood outside Lincoln's house nervously.
"Are you just going to stand outside?" I jumped at Cole's voice. He was stood behind me watching with crossed arms.
"Yep." I nodded.
"Come on." He walked over to the house pulling the key out of his pocket.
I followed him into the house. Lincoln was on the sofa watching the TV and he hadn't noticed that we walked in. Cole made his way over sitting in the armchair.
"Hey." Lincoln greeted not looking away from the movie.
"Hi." Cole muttered pulling out his phone
"Lincoln." I spoke, his head snapped over to me. "Can we talk?"
"Yeah of course." He nodded gesturing to the space beside him.
I walked over slowly, curious as to why he wasn't mad. I sat as far away as possible. Lincoln frowned at the distance between us.
"Cole can you go somewhere else while we talk?" I asked him.
"Nope." He answered still staring at his phone.
"Fine." I sighed.
"I'm sorry about last night." I confessed.
"You're sorry?" Lincoln spoke slowly.
"Yeah, about our argument." I elaborated.
"Oh." He let out a relieved sigh. "We resolved that, it's fine."
"We did?" I frowned.
"Yeah, last night." He said.
I let it go still confused. "Anyway, I've got to tell you something."
"What?" He was concerned.
"I slept with someone last night." I decided not to beat around the bush.
He froze. His jaw was slack. His eyes were saucers.
"Oh shit." Cole spoke with an amused smirk.
"I'm sorry." Was all I could say.
"Who?" Lincoln's voice was hardly a whisper.
"Rita." I admitted ashamed. "I think."
"Was it before of after we..." He trailed off unable to finish the sentence.
He's talking about our argument. "After." I mumbled not able to look at him.
"I can't believe you." He placed his head in his hands. "You know what you mean to me but you decide to go and sleep with your ex after we fooled around at the party."
My head snapped towards him bewildered. "What?"
"You know what I'm talking about." He lifted his head to glare at me.
"I really don't." I replied. "I got so drunk last night that I've forgotten everything after our argument."
"Seriously." He deadpanned.
I nodded embarrassed. "I remembered us arguing then the next thing I know I'm waking up naked with someone showering in the bathroom."
"So why do you think it's Rita?" He slumped into the sofa.
"Because she called me asking where I went." I shrugged. "What did we do?"
His face flushed and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Oral and stuff."
"Right." I nodded. My phone began to vibrate in my pocket and I pulled it out to see who it was, there was a message from Rita.
'Why did you hang up?'
"Who is it?" He asked seeming to already know the answer.
"Rita." I stood up. "I should call her, I'll be right back."
I stepped out of the house sitting on a bench that they had near the entrance. She picked up instantly.
"Hey, did I annoy you or something this morning? Why did you hang up?" She questioned.
"I freaked out." I admitted. "I'm kind of in a relationship so when I found out that you and I slept together I-"
She cut me off. "Wait what?"
"We slept together." I stated.
"No we didn't." She laughed. "You kept throwing up so I decided to sleep on the floor and make sure you didn't choke."
"Then why was you're bra on the floor?" I asked confused despite the relief her words caused me.
"Well I don't sleep in a bra, that's uncomfortable." She pointed out.
I felt a weight lifted off my chest. "Oh great."
"Wow, that happy not to have slept with me?" She joked.
"You know what I mean." I grinned into the phone. "Wait. Was I naked the entire time?"
"Yup." She giggled. "You didn't seem to notice."
"Oh no." I mumbled.
"It's fine, don't worry." She said. "I've got to go now, I'll see you at school."
"Alright bye." I hung up the phone.
I walked back in a huge smile on my face and Lincoln immediately took notice.
"What?" He looked at me with an hopeful expression.
"It was a huge misunderstanding." His face lit up. "She was just sleeping there to make sure I didn't choke on my vomit."
He grimaced slightly but he smiled anyway. "Great." He walked over pulling me into a hug. "I'm kind of disappointed that you can't remember last night."
"So am I." I admitted. "Maybe you could remind me." I smirked, Lincoln matched my expression although he had a small blush.
"I'm leaving." Cole grumbled walking up the stairs.
"Good." Lincoln called after him. "Where were we?"
I wrapped my arms around his neck smashing his lips against mine.
