The ambulance had arrived but the traffic jam here was massive, and they were on a flyover. Unlike traffic police who could ride motorcycles, the ambulance couldnât possibly make it up here.
Lu Weixi was on the verge of madness. Qin Zhiyou lay in her arms as she sat on the ground, leaning against the car. For the second time in her life, she felt this desperateâthe last time was when she found out her mother had cancer.
And both times, he was there.
Only, the first time he was by her side when she needed him. Without his help, her mother would have died long ago, and she wouldnât have been able to go on. This time, he had stepped forward to protect her, and ended up seriously injured!
âZhiyou, Zhiyou, please be okay, wake up!â she thought in fear. She was afraid of something happening to Qin Zhiyou and what she would do in that case.
Drip, drip, the sound of droplets falling.
She didnât know if it was rainwater, his blood, or her tears.
âZhiyou, Zhiyou, can you wake up?â
Whether it was due to her calls or something else, Qin Zhiyou managed to furrow his brow with effort. Simultaneously, his hand which had been hanging limply by his side, curled slightly. Clearly, he was waking up!
âZhiyou, Zhiyou!â Lu Weixiâs original sadness, had, in this moment turned into unparalleled joy! She instantly hugged him tight, afraid that if she were to let go, Qin Zhiyou would leave her.
Qin Zhiyou slowly opened his eyes and lifted his finger a little. Lu Weixi seemed to sense something, she leaned in close to his ear, âThe ambulance is already here, itâll arrive soon, donât worry, youâll be fine!â
Qin Zhiyou just nodded, shifting his body slightly. This movement seemed to aggravate his injuries, causing him to wince in pain.
âHow are you feeling?â Lu Weixi immediately turned her head to find that despite the ambulance not being present, there were doctors and nurses coming over with a stretcher. âYouâll be fine, youâll be alright.â
Qin Zhiyou shook his head again, reaching out his hand. His lips moved as if he wanted to say something. Lu Weixi quickly leaned in close to hear him, âWhat do you want to say?â
Qin Zhiyou didnât say anything but merely used his fingers to gently straighten her tousled hair. His fingers, stained with blood, smeared her face, making it dirtier. The more he stroked, the more tears ran down her face. She ended up looking even uglier.
However, this was the first time he had seen Lu Weixi cry for him.
âAm I ugly?â@@novelbin@@
Qin Zhiyou shook his head, a smile pulling at the corner of his mouth.
He wanted to say something else, but the stretcher had arrived. His condition was of the utmost importance, and Lu Weixi worked with the medical staff to lift him onto the stretcher.
Seeing the medical personnel checking his injuries, Lu Weixiâs previously unsettled state had somewhat eased. She also noticed the phone that had been thrown out of the car earlier, she had to tackle that situation, and the cop J and the three men in the backseat couldnât be left unattended either!
She gave brief instructions, those three bastards definitely couldnât be let off scot-free!
However, those three who had assaulted someone wouldnât be able to escape since their car was still here.
She also had to exercise some form of control over the situation. The situation had spiraled into chaos with many people surrounding them and taking photos. She had no idea whether theyâd upload videos or not.
But at this point, it wasnât the video upload that she was concerned about, she needed to protect Qin Zhiyouâs reputation.
