Lu Weixi spoke rationally, and started from her work, resources, and her motherâs medical expenses, stating various reasons why she could not divorce, but none of them were based on emotions but objective factors.@@novelbin@@
He understood as of late, after all, he kept unearthing news of his scandals for different reasons. Even though Lu Weixi pretended to know nothing on the surface, in reality, she had seen all those reports, only that she didnât care, or rather, pretended not to care in his presence.
But the distance she felt during her conversation with her mother just now, was still there.
Now, all Lu Weixi responded with was a âumâ, âWait a minute, Doctor Zhao just contacted me to schedule my motherâs next chemotherapy session.â
âOkay.â Qin Zhiyou nodded and stood up, walking with her to the door of Zhao Zihaoâs office. But both of them stopped at the door at the same time.
Lu Weixi didnât want Qin Zhiyou to come in, but felt that as her husband, it was fine for him to know about her motherâs condition. Qin Zhiyou, on the other hand, wanted to go in and share her burden, but was worried that it might not be appropriate for him to do so.
Both of them paused at the same time, seeing the hesitation and consideration in each otherâs eyes. In the end, it was Qin Zhiyou who took a slight step back: âYou go ahead.â
âHmm.â Lu Weixi nodded, and when she went in, she deliberately left a small crack in the door for him.
Even though he did not go in, he could still hear the voices inside from where he stood outside.
Qin Zhiyou looked at the crack in the door, his Adamâs apple moving up and down. He raised his hand, wanting to push the door open and join her, but as his fingertips touched the metal doorknob, he slowly withdrew his hand and shook his head.
He took a small step back, hesitating to leave. He could only stand aside and wait.Upd@te by novg0.c0
In the room.
Zhao Zihaoâs office was a separate single room, with the window open and a bouquet of flowers on the windowsill. The curtain inside was drawn to provide examination privacy. He sat in his chair and motioned to the chair in front of the desk: âMiss Lu, please have a seat.â
Lu Weixi nodded and sat down properly. At a glance, she saw someoneâs silhouette behind the curtain. Through the bottom of the curtain, she could make out a pair of high-heeled shoes, seemingly belonging to a woman.
Judging by the high-heeled shoes, they seemed to be of a young womanâs.
But she did not pryer further and simply asked, âDr. Zhao, should my motherâs third radiation treatment be scheduled?â
âOriginally, yes.â Zhao Zihao nodded, his hands interlocked on the table, âBut Madam Luâs health⦠has been slightly fluctuating recently. I think it can be postponed slightly until her condition stabilizes then we can continue.â
Lu Weixi hesitated for a moment before nodding, âI understand. Thank you.â
âHowever, you donât have to worry too much. Treating a disease is like this; the condition comes crashing, and leaves like silk spinning. The most important thing is to stabilize the condition. But Iâd like to remind you, donât argue with her. Be compliant with her decisions and donât get angry at her.â
âI understand, thank you Doctor Zhao.â Lu Weixi nodded, âPlease notify me first during my motherâs next treatment. I wonât bother you anymore.â
âOf course.â Zhao Zihao nodded with a smile. When Lu Weixi left, she even helped him close the door.
When Lu Weixiâs footsteps gradually faded, the smile on Zhao Zihaoâs face gradually faded. He then adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and said coldly, âCome out.â
