She didnât embellish the events, she simply recounted what had happened. She was careful not to exaggerate or mention that there had been rumors about Huang and Xue being in a relationship.
The interviewer pressed on: âWhy would Miss Du do that?â
âWhen she arrived, we were filming a romantic scene, and she must have misunderstood. Teacher Huang tried to explain, but we were so busy filming till late at night and thenâ¦â
Xiang Yirou knew this part wouldnât make it into the final cut, but it would certainly be used for promotional purposes.
As expected, this section was soon edited into a blooper reel and posted on Weibo, and as usual, it quickly climbed up the trending list.
Even though Xiang Yirou didnât say anything too controversial, it stirred enough discussion; particularly regarding the slap. Xiang Yirou explained it as a misunderstanding during a romantic scene, but Huang Mi had filmed even more intimate scenes with Du Sui in the past seven years without Du ever causing a fuss. The fact that she slapped Xue Feifei without hesitation, indicates that Du Sui may have heard rumors, or Xue Feifei might have stepped out of line.
Huang Mi might be innocent, but Xue Feifei definitely has issues. Just like those bitchy second female leads she often portrays, always sticking to the male lead like glue.
Indeed, after seeing Xiang Yiroâs clip, Huang Miâs team didnât bother to pay to remove it from the trending list. Since Xiang Yiroâs statement didnât implicate him, there was no need to waste money on taking it down.
Xue Feifei couldnât be bothered to care. When it comes down to it, people will always misunderstand her no matter what she does. It would be pointless to explain.
