The camera kept tracking, and although the two people in the shot were very close, they never quite met, creating a barely visible distance that was even more impactful.
At least, thatâs what it looked like from the monitor. Xue Feifei was nearly pressed against Huang Mi, their noses all but touching, close enough to kiss. Whether it was her acting or genuine, Huang Miâs gaze remained clear, but he had a barely perceptible swallow, and you could almost feel a heat radiating off his body.
The problem was, it wasnât even that cold yet. Why did it seem like their breath could form mist?
You could even notice his gaze shifting slightly askew. In psychology, this is considered an avoidance behavior, suggesting that the scene had somewhat stirred him internally.
Yet the scene continued without the director calling for a retake. Huang Miâs momentary zoning out was an unplanned part of the script. After all, the male lead in the script was beyond reproach â he was enamoured with the female lead, sure, and he had firm convictions, but if he didnât have any reaction to a vibrant and alluring beauty throwing herself at him, then he couldnât be a man.
Of course, scripts donât just involve the leads â everyone has a part. Everyone understood the male leadâs character, and this slight confusion was something outside the script. Although the filming was going very smoothly, chatter began to break out on set.
âHey, did you hear? They didnât mention any of this in the scene.â
âRight? Iâve been saying, thereâs something between them, it seems like theyâve really given their all in this scene. This bit, it wasnât in the script, right?â
âOf course not! I heard that during lunch break, the female lead went into Teacher Huangâs van to supposedly âdiscuss the scriptâ. But once the van door closed, who knows what went in there. Could they have really been discussing the scriptâ¦?â
âAh, you donât understand, itâs called âbuilding rapportâ. Do you understand? Itâs why your acting is so poor, youâre not going anywhere.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âIf I had a mentor like Teacher Huang, I couldâve made it too!â
The whispering discussion reverberated below, of course the discussions were quiet and far away to avoid interfering with the filming and the actorsâ performances. Yet, Yu Sixing overheard everything.
He looked quite indifferent, still standing by even after the scene was finished.
Such a challenging shot and they managed to get it in one take. The director had prepared plenty of film but there was no need for edits after the shoot. The only criticism was that the female lead, Xue Feifei was too eye-catching, slightly overpowering the male lead. It was clear that once this film premiered, Xue Feifei would be a hit!
But the chatter behind the scenes was too loud, and it irritated the director, who told them off: âYou lot, have too much free time? If youâre not shooting, go read the script. If you donât have a script, go rest. Why are there so many idle people around here? Less unrelated people coming in! You, yes you, where do you belong? Are you part of our crew?â
Perhaps because the directorâs scolding was a bit harsh, everyoneâs eyes turned his way, including the two actors who just finished their scene. Xue Feifei looked over and noticed a faint smile on Yu Sixingâs face.
