Chapter 20: - June 15 (Monday): Mai Kaedezaka

On my way to work, the person who kabedon’d me on the train was Kaezaka, Yuika’s senpai, who was also a university student.

Kaezaka’s tone was a half-hearted mixture of young lady’s language, and she was clearly directing her hostility towards me.

“So, can you answer my question? Are you aware that you are a criminal?”

“I’ve already told you. It’s a misunderstanding. We’re really just talking, nothing more.”

I didn’t expect her to believe me, but it was all I could do.

I couldn’t think of anything better to say.

Kaezaka gave a surprising response.

At this point, Kaedezaka showed her surprise with a hint of acting.

“I don’t remember experiencing anything like that in the slightest. …”

She gave me a pitying look.

“You poor thing. You’ve lost your memory.”

“Don’t talk about your fake memories as if they were true.”

Every move she made was infuriating me.

I have never met a woman so irritating.

Then Kaedezaka chuckled and stood in front of me.

“Well, I guess that’s enough for today. I’ve accomplished what I came for.”

“…, You just came to mess with me?”

How bored do you have to be to ambush me in the early hours of the morning and do something so childish?

“But be careful, okay? If you do anything strange to Yuika-san, I will not hesitate to impose social sanctions on you, and I will do my best to make sure you are punished.”

“Sounds like you don’t trust me.”

“Men are creatures that can change in a matter of seconds.”

“I hope you’re not one of them.”

“What do you think?… So, Kazuto Sasamiya, I’ll see you soon.”

After saying that, Kaedezaka got off the train.

Even though it was still early in the day, a feeling of exhaustion washed over me.

I wondered if it was Otozui, but when I started up LINE, I found a shocking message on it.

My hands trembled as I gripped the phone, and a mixture of anger and fear overcame me.

“This is what you call accomplishing your goal. … When did you do that? That psychopathic woman …”
