Chapter 24: 19.𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥

Finally I am back

I fall on the bed and take a deep breath remembering everything that has happened today. But everything is settled now and now I just need to focus on my exams

The dorm's door opens with a click sound. I get up and sit on the bed and see Jasmine entering the room with a big paper bag

"What's that?" I ask her

She removes her shoe and walks in and places the bag on my table "you ordered it right?" She says

I frown "I didn't"

She titles her head and looks at the receipt attached to the bag "it has your name and number, I thought you ordered it so i brought it" she explains

I get up and examine the paper bag , Jasmine leans on me from behind "you were meeting Liam right? What happened?" She asks as curiosity fills her voice

I check the receipt which had my name and number, I hesitate but open the bag anyways and notice two pizza boxes and two dessert boxes placed in it

Am I seeing it right?

"It's from an Italian restaurant right?" Jasmine snaps me back . I nod in her response

"If not you. Then who sent it?" She asks, while taking out the boxes . My eyes widened at realisation but I try to neutralize them before Jasmine notices it but I am too late already

She caught me!

She gasps "you know! Who is it tell me!" she is shaking me holding my arms

"It's just an assumption" I say holding her to prevent her from shaking me. "Just spill it"

I press my lips together and look at my feet "I think it might be Liam" I look at her back and she is already taking out all kinds of expressions

"Don't overreact, I am just assuming!" I say but she doesn't seem to get me . She comes closer to me "ask him! Right now!" She orders. Ah this girl won't leave me until I say yes . I decide to text him but Jasmine holds my hand "No no .. call him"

I groan "No please"

"Why are you so shy?" She pulls my phone and dials his number and before I could even hang up , Liam is already on the line "Hey freckles! Miss me already?"

Why did he have to pick up so soon?

Jasmine holds the phone near my ear and I take it from her as she leans over to hear our conversation. I glare at her but she gives me a silent grin

"The Pizza.... Did you send it?"

He just hums in response, "why?" I ask

"Because you wanted to eat it right?" He replies

Suddenly Jasmine is jumping while holding my arm . I am controlling myself from laughing "but I already ate" I say and he chuckles "Pizza is for happiness right? And today it's that moment of happiness enjoy it"

Jasmine takes a step back and whispers so that only I can hear it "oh she will" and giggles

"Well I also mentioned ice cream. Where is it?" I ask just to tease him a little "well they don't serve ice creams and it could have melted on the way. Should I bring some? Or take you there?" His words caught me off guard "no... it's fine I was just joking!"

Suddenly Jasmine yells making me flinch "It's time to celebrate" and Liam also heard it "woah what was that?" I sigh and look at Jasmine dancing with a pillow "Nothing just my best friend being herself" I smile at her carefree behavior

"Eat it with her" he says

"Yeah we will , thank you Liam"

"Goodbye freckles" he says in a soothing tone and hangs up. I stare at my phone for a minute, why does a simple word like freckles sound so good when he says it?

"You okay?" Jasmine caress my arm , i think I dozed off again. I nod and take the food box and place it on the small table and we both sit on the rug , Jasmine has put this habit on me .

As I open the pizza box the delicious smell fills the room making our mouth water. I already ate but couldn't help eating more. I look at Jasmine. She has the same excitement as me.We both yell in unison "Let's dig in!"

We both take a pizza slice each and touch them like we are clicking glasses, as Jasmine takes a bite she melts with it "hmmm it's so good" she says eating. I also take a bite

This is actually so good and the cheese oh my I love this . Chef kisses

We both finish a pizza and keep the rest away to eat afterwards. "I have a question" Jasmine says eating tiramisu I nod

"Does Liam have a brother?" She asks, crossing her legs and sitting comfortably. That's a random question. "Yeah I think he does have a younger brother" hearing me her smile grow wider "really? What's his age?"

I think for a minute, Liam never mentioned his brother. I just know that Emily Carter has three children. Liam , her second son and her youngest daughter but their names aren't disclosed "I don't know exactly"

"When you meet Liam again. Ask for his brother's information"

I frown "but why?"

"Liam toh nahi par uska bhai toh hai na"

[Translation: Not Liam but at least his brother is there]

I didn't understand what she said but I know what she has in her mind "you wanna hit on his brother?" She snaps her finger at me "correct!" and grins eating the cake

This girl

"But you didn't even see him. What if you don't like him?" I joke

"Come on if Liam is like that just imagine what his brother would be like? His brother would obviously inherit the same"

I also take a spoon from the cake and decide to pull her leg "why not Liam?" She looks at me and raises her eyebrows and scoffs and says "yeh lakdi ka dimag kahan chale gaya?" and slams her palm on her forehead "what do you mean!" I whine

[Translation: where did this girl's common sense go? / Where did this girl's brain go?"]

"Nothing. just eat" she says hitting my shoulder

"Are you and your brother the same?" I ask . She opens her mouth to speak but shuts it and rolls her eyes. Gotcha "you are not getting the dessert" she says snatching the dessert boxes . I gasp as she runs away from me "Jasmine comes back!" I yell trying to catch her as she is bouncing around the small room

A few days later...

It's been a few days since I met Liam . Since then we have been chatting continuously asking each other the most random stuff. Our favorite food, color, animal , movie and many more

I realised we have totally opposite taste he likes adventure movies , I like romance

He use to watch Harry Potter as a kid and I watched Disney

He's a dog person and I love cats

He is into dark aesthetic, where as I like colourful aesthetic

I love staying in during weekend and he likes exploring

My hobby is to read , while he likes scuba diving. Like literally? Why? How?

He can cook but I can only bake some stuff

I listen to Taylor Swift where as he is a chase Atlantic fan . Well that's not bad even I like them

But it's been kinda fun talking to him, I won't deny that until Jasmine starts to comment something in Hindi and afterwards not tell me the meaning

My exams are gonna start soon and I have a lot to do . Even after that i gotta start my work for NYX submission and it's getting stressful

Our library is empty, it's lunch time and most peaceful here . I can study well, i thought about studying at the dorm but I keep getting distracted with random stuff even though my clothes are distracting me . I literally had to lock my books so that I won't suddenly start reading them

I was so deep into studying when a message pops on my phone

Liam: what are you doing?

studying 😭

Liam: at the dorm?

no at the library. Why?

I waited for a few minutes but there was no response. I ignore it and continue my reading but my eyes slowly start to close I try to stay awake but failed

Ah my neck hurts. I slowly stretch myself , I was reading just a while ago did I fall asleep?

"Good morning" I flinched at the voice and turn to notice Liam sitting beside me reading a book. He is wearing a white shirt with black trousers, his sleeves folded revealing his hand muscles while he is holding the book.

The sunrays falls on us making his face shine a little

My eyes can't look away from his hands but then suddenly i notice he is reading my book! Again!

I have been carrying 'The deal' with me for a few days , because I can't leave anywhere without a book or my Kindle . Even though I know i won't read them

"what are you doing here?" He waves the book , He took my book from my bag "reading freckles" he says and continues to read . I tried to grab it but he knew my moves and extends his hand away

"You are a thief!" He laughs at my comment. And closes the book and keeps it down . He suddenly leans closer to my face as I lean backwards "what makes a thief?" He smirks looking into my eyes

I look away

"Don't look away and answer me freckles, what did I steal" his voice gets deep as he is practically whispering and so close that I can feel his breath and I could smell his perfume

it's nice

Wait what no!

It's not nice

It's addictive

What the -

I shake my head trying to remove all the thoughts "You are stealing my books and reading them without my permission" I look back in his eyes gathering all my courage. He looks down and chuckles and suddenly lifts his head back "May I read your books?"

"Why do you wanna read them?" I ask

"Because they look interesting" he moves away and shrugs his shoulders. I grab the chance and take my book back "buy your own!"

He chuckles "so you like bodyguard, hockey player, billionaire and who should I add?" He keeps his finger on his chin pretending to think

I keep my book inside the bag and resume back to my studies ignoring him. He slowly slips a glass cup towards me "I brought you Chamomile tea" I take the cup and look at it, it has a small cute cat designed on it . It's still hot "why?"

"You might need help reading that's why"

"No I mean why this cup?" I question because these are personal tumblers and not given by the café . "Well because it would stay nicw for a while. It's better then use and throw right?" He says giving an awkward laugh

Well.... Okay?

I take a sip from the tea "But shouldn't you get me coffee? As it keeps me awake?" He nods "yeah but coffee has side effects too. Chamomile tea is better, if you want coffee I can bring it" he says getting up .

Woah!

he doesn't play with his words

"No I am fine. Thank you" i whisper drinking it. I take a glance at him and notice him smiling at me . I look away pretending, he sits back down and looks at my books "how's the preparation going?"

I keep the cup aside " I am doing my best" He nods and looks at me "What about you?"

I tilte my head to understand what he just said "I didn't understand"

He sighs , it's not a tired or annoying one but more like he wanted to laugh but stopped himself "I meant, how are you doing? For the past few days whenever I messaged you asking 'what are you doing?' your reply is 'studying' . Are you eating and sleeping well?"

I open my mouth but close it thinking about what to reply. I have not been sleeping much but it's enough. I tap my finger on the table searching for an appropriate answer " did you eat lunch?" His question snaps me back. I nod in response.

"Don't go hard on yourself, Study but don't improvise your health. Okay?" He says , his voice showing encouragement. A smile appears on my face

"And I came here to tell you something" he says looking front. He was looking at me just now "yeah what is it?"

He scratches his neck "well... I know how you can repay me" I didn't't understand him first but I realized our deal, okay finally "okay what can I do?"

I press his lips together and I can feel him shaking his leg. Wait, is he nervous? Liam is nervous?. I pick up my cup and take a sip of the tea watching his actions . He hesitates for a minute but finally looks at me and gulps . His collar button is open making his movement visible

damn even that is attractive

What's wrong with my brain today?

"Hm well .... I want a date" he speaks
