*Piper*
We went to bed very early last night. We had received a terrible birth announcement card from he-who-is-not-to-be-named. No, I don't mean Voldemort. Patrick had sent a card that said:
"Dear Lyla, Jason and Felicia,
I was delighted to hear the good news. I hope one day to hold the little girl in my arms.
"Love Grandpa."
Especially that grandpa part made me uneasy. Jason wants all the locks changed and has bought a new security system over the internet. He now sleeps upstairs with Lyla and Felicia again, so he could protect them at night. Not that you had much use for him. He was doing better, but he was still too weak.
I woke up to hear Felicia's soft cry. She was immediately soothed by Lyla, but I couldn't fall back asleep. I looked at the sleeping figure next to me. Luca's hair was ruffled in front of his face and his mouth was hanging open a little. He softly mumbled a few made-up words. I tried to hold back my laughter, but it was already too late. A short, but loud laugh left my lips and Luca's eyes slowly opened. He looked at my grinning face and raised his eyebrows.
"What is it?" He asked sleepily as he rubbed his hair out of his eyes.
"You're talking in your sleep." Laughed I.
"Don't ii. You snore."
"Not true!" I don't snore it! Do I?
"You're a little piggy when you sleep." He laughed wearily. He yawned and I slapped him against his muscular arm. "A very cute little piggy."
"Oh yes, because that makes it better." I laughed back. Luca pulled me to him and put his arms around me. The silence was nice for a moment, but was immediately broken again by Luca.
"Jason wants to kill your father." He said softly. "He told me yesterday." I sighed deeply against his chest.
"I was afraid of that." Luca's hands slid through my hair and he pressed a kiss to my forehead.
"I'm protecting you, you know that, right?" I nodded. I knew I was protected, but I still had a bad feeling about it. What if someone died in Jason's stupid assassination attempt. Jason does often have a big mouth about things like this, but he didn't think it through carefully enough. Suddenly the door flew open and Adam ran into the room. He pulled open the curtains and I was blinded by the bright light.
"Get up!" He shouted. "I need your help." Luca sat up and put his shirt back on.
"What for man?" Adam jumped from one leg to the other.
"Not you! Piper! Peyton's coming over today and I need to wear something nice!" Luca fell back on the bed sighing and I chuckled softly.
"If you give me a moment to put something else on, I'll come to your room in a minute." Adam nodded and ran out of the room. I walked over to my wardrobe and quickly pulled on black jeans and a blouse. When I arrived in Adam's room, the floor was already littered with clothes. He was struggling with a pair of jeans that were too tight and I had to try very hard not to laugh.
"Any luck?" He looked up and stopped struggling.
"The trousers don't fit. My butt is too big."
"You really are like a girl now!" I laughed at him. Desperately he stared at the pile of clothes. I found a simple set, with a blouse.
"Here stretch this on and leave the last button open. That's sexy." Adam nodded cheerfully and pulled the clothes out of my hands. then he gestured for me to leave the room, because he was going to change clothes. Smiling, I walked down the stairs. The new pictures of Felicia hanging on the wall made me smile. She was already so stubborn and she was only a few days old! I walked into the living room and saw Jason whispering with Jasper and Max. When I walked in, they suddenly stopped.
"Jason! " I said in a threatening tone. "You're not going to do anything stupid are you?"
"Of course not. You know me, right?"
"That's why." I gave the three of them one last look and went to the kitchen, where Lyla was preparing breakfast.
"Good morning, can I help you?" I offered. She shook her head.
"I'm almost done." she said softly as she focused on the fried eggs in the pan. I sat down at the dining table and put my head in my hands. Why was everything so difficult right now? We should be enjoying Felicia and the holidays, but it's a little difficult right now.

Later that day the bell rang. I looked through the small hole in the front door and saw that it was my friends. Liam, Eva and Peyton walked into the hallway and I closed the door behind them again. I couldn't understand why they wanted to remain friends, since they were now in danger themselves. Liam and Eva were scared at first, but Peyton didn't seem to mind.
Adam walked into the hallway with his blouse open and his hair a bit tousled.
"Hello everyone, Peyton." he said and he disappeared again. Peyton turned red on her cheeks which she immediately tried to wipe away.
"Shall we go to my room?" I suggested. Everyone agreed and we walked up the stairs together. Liam plopped on my bed and Eva sat down at my desk. Peyton paused and then sat down with Liam.
"The play was really cool." Liam said dreamily. "Luca acted so romantic."
"yes, it was quite romantic." I admit honestly. "Except for the fact that he had Victor locked in a closet."
"Next time Luca will have to lock me in. Victor certainly doesn't look wrong." Liam sighed.
"The play was indeed a lot of fun to do." said Peyton. "My father thought you acted very well, Piper."
"Ah, that's sweet." We were interrupted by Adam walking into my room with a tray of cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows. He handed out the cups and was very careful with Peyton.
"This time I won't mess on you." He smiled as charmingly as possible and gave Peyton a wink.
"Thank you." she said softly. I sipped my cup and looked at Adam, who was being very romantic. Liam tapped me lightly and I leaned toward him.
"Do you think what I think?" he whispered. I shook my head gently. "We're going to pair them."
"How are you going to do that then?"
"Can we leave them alone for a while?" Nodded and stood up.
"I'm going to the toilet-"
"Me too-"
"And so am I-" Liam, Eva, and I got up at the same time and walked out. We closed the door behind us and left Peyton with Adam in amazement. I pressed my ear to the door and tried to follow the conversation. Okay, Adam. This is your chance. Don't use a cheesy opening line!
"So, did it hurt when you fell from the sky?" oh boy. There we go. An embarrassing silence followed.
"I didn't mean it like that..." stammered Adam. "I mean... Oh... Uh... You're beautiful and..." I wanted so badly to help him, but I didn't know how.
"I like you a lot, nicer than pizza!" Adam said quickly. "And I was hoping maybe... I mean... Maybe you want... If you want to... But you don't have to..."
"What are you trying to say?"
"Would you like to go with me... On a date?" he stuttered. There was silence for a moment and I tried to look through the keyhole.
"What is happening?" Liam whispered. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I do not see it."
"Are they kissing?" The door was quickly pulled open and the three of us fell over each other inside. Adam and Peyton laughed at us, but they were holding hands.
"So?" I asked expectantly. "Are you going on a date? Did you kiss?"
"We're going on a date tomorrow." Adam said with a steely smile. He gave Peyton a soft kiss on the hand and then left the room. Peyton blushed profusely and looked at her hand.
"Young love so cute." Liam sighed. I laughed softly and fell backwards on my bed. Not much later Adam came back into the bedroom.
"Piper? Jason is gone." He said.
"What?!"
"He is gone, And I don't see the rest anywhere! Lyla doesn't know where he's gone either!"
"Oh, Jason... Please don't do anything stupid.."
