Melanie was quite envious of the woman’s figure, which was better than hers. She couldn’t believe that the woman could be Aurelia.

Upon recognizing the man beside Aurelia as Matthew, the man immediately withdrew his presumptuous gaze, feeling a twinge of regret in his heart.

It was rare for him to see a woman who instantly sparked his interest and elicited a reaction, and surprisingly, she was associated with Matthew.

Matthew has never had a woman around him, no? If she’s merely a companion accompanying him to the auction, the look in his eyes just now shouldn’t have been a warning…

The next item up for auction was an antique painting.

After the staff had explained the origin of the antique painting, the auction began.

“There are many similar antique paintings like this, but I also find it somewhat familiar. It looks like…” Melanie trailed off, recalling the painting that used to hang in the Leedon residence.

The painting that Aurelia has given to Mom, the one Mom barely glanced at, seems quite similar to this one.

“No way, that’s impossible.” Melanie immediately dismissed the speculation.

Surely, Aurelia must have bought that painting from Amazon. It probably cost no more than ten.

The paintings that make it into the auction house are beyond Aurelia’s reach.

“What’s impossible?” Gideon questioned.

“It’s nothing, Dad. This painting actually sold for two million!” Melanie was taken aback when she heard the price it had fetched.

Gideon didn’t understand art, but a thought flashed through his mind not long ago. He remembered a painting that used to hang in a corner of his home, which seemed identical to the one before him.

“Three million!” Matthew suddenly placed a bid.

Aurelia suddenly turned to Matthew. “Do you like this painting?”

She had sold it for five hundred thousand, but now, Matthew had directly escalated its value to three million.

The paintings of this artist had never been auctioned for more than two million before.

“Mel, doesn’t the painting that Auri gave to your mother look exactly like this one?” Gideon was taken aback when he heard the price of three million two hundred thousand.

Melanie was lost in thoughts, her gaze greedily fixed on Matthew. He likes antique paintings?

Upon hearing Gideon’s question, she pursed her lips and said, “Dad, although the painting Aurelia gave to Mom looks similar to this one, she probably bought a replica online.”

“A replica? How disgraceful!” Every time Gideon thought of Aurelia his face was filled with disgust.

There were a total of eight auction items that night.

The last item was a diamond ring.

Matthew raised the paddle. “One hundred million.”
